Description of Work: We had a leak in one of our bathrooms that was running under the floor into the garage. At almost the same time, our hot water heater broke. Orr plumbing fixed both problems the very next day. They fixed the leak, which was a real ordeal as they had to add a new line and replaced the water heater.

Description of Work: (04/28/2010) I requested Douglas Orr Plumbing based on: 1. Coupon from Angie's List 2. Reports from Angie's List 3. Have seen their work where I was employed. I asked them to help me diagnose a leak from our Master Bath upstairs which was wetting the ceiling downstairs. I was told by operator that the labor cost was $85 an hour. Firstly, two men arrived (I was charged for the labor of the plumber $85/hr as well as his assistant $38/hr!) This was not told to me and I did not need 2 people to find a leak! They did arrive when they told me they would. They told me the leak was due to a diverter at the shower control. However, after they cut a hole in my ceiling as well as cut a hole in my bathroom the leak was not found. They left stating they would get back to me "in a couple of days" regarding a new diverter. I left the ceiling and wall open. After they left, I went to clean the shower floor and found the leak myself. It was due to grout wear on my shower floor. I regrouted the floor, left the ceiling open, and voila, no leak! I feel that I was mislead on the charges and I sent them an email with no response. By they way, it took 2 weeks for them to call and say they had a new diverter and when can they come and replace it. I did not return the call.

+ -1 moreThis was not a large task, but an urgent one for my family. No kitchen sink with an infant can quickly become an emergency. The plumber arrived at his scheduled time, treated me and my home with respect, and completed the job quickly. I had another small issue in an upstairs bathroom with the shower head and he helped with that as well. He also answered a few other maintenance questions I had about plumbing before he left. I was extremely pleased with the level of service, and will use them again in the future.

Description of Work: We had a crazy high water bill. I called, they came, diagnosed the problem, made the fix, checked my water meter and made sure they solved the problem all in about 30 minutes. He was very helpful and suggested while he was there that he check a couple other things and noticed that my toilet flappers were all fairly old. He said for $4 each, he could fix it in 10 minutes and did that as well. He was very efficient and helpful.

Description of Work: We had a toilet that was not flushing properly, it was a problem in going to the septic system and they came in and snaked it from both, the toilet itself and also from the roof and all went to the septic tank.

+ -1 moreThe technician that came checked our home for leaks, in a variety of ways, including adding dyes to toilet bowls, replaced toilet flaps and educated us on how to check our meter for indications of leaks (there is a tiny triangle in our meter that turns very rapidly when any faucet is just barely dripping as we learned). No evidence of leaks was found. But we now feel more confident our toilets wont be the culprit and know how to check going forward.

+ 0 moreHe was punctual, and, using a snake, cleared the sink clogged pipes from outside the house in about 20 minutes. He than took care of my other problems all the while explaining how they had happened and what I could do to avoid them happening again. It was great experience and I would definitely use them again. My only regret is that I forgot to use the coupon, but they were so reasonable that I still feel I got a great deal.
Description of Work: I called the plumber to deal with a clogged pipe in the kitchen but also had him check a couple of leaky faucets in a bathrooms and a leaky toilet.

+ -1 moreThey did a fantastic job. We found them through a friend. They typically do more large contract work, but they also have a repair service division and they were excellent. It was a pretty extensive repair, but they did a great job. Everything's working fine. They found the problem, and they found a couple of other areas that were of concern, they fixed all of them. They installed new piping so that the problem wouldn't happen again. They were very flexible on the payment. It was an overall great experience.

+ -1 moreThey were pretty rude and they never even provided an estimate that they said they were going to. I called once and there was a mix up and someone was supposed to return my call and that never happened. I called back again and I finally got the correct person and he made an appointment. Somehow we missed each other because the secretary had taken down the wrong number. When we finally got the person here he did a very thorough job of documenting everything that needed to be done and he told me that he would prepare an estimate but I never received that estimate.
Description of Work: Douglas Orr Plumbing Inc gave me estimate on re-piping the house.

Description of Work: Leak detection - had a major leak outside the home, underground. They used the leak detection machine to find where the leak was, dug up the lawn to get to the pipe. Fixed the leak and replaced the sod so that it looked as good as new.

I was kept informed throughout the 2-3 days between first call and the plumber arriving with all parts necessary. The plumber was professional and completed his work quickly and neatly. He arrived as scheduled. As I have previously dealt with ORR and HENRY, I was confident in whom to call and knew the outcome would be excellent.
Description of Work: Replaced exterior flush handle on one toilet and the interior parts of 2 toilets.

The person who answered the phone (Vickie) was very polite, told me she could have someone there later that day. She then connected me to Henry, who gave an estimate on the job. I agreed, they then said they could have someone there in a couple of hours. Alex arrived in a company truck and introduced himself. He was very professional and polite. It took him only a few minutes to carefully remove the old dishwasher. I had asked him to be careful because I planned on giving the old dishwasher to a family member. He then installed the new dishwasher. He did a very careful and deliberate job. I was a little nervous because this dishwasher was a new style 2 drawer model. He finished on time and did a great job.
Description of Work: I asked them to un-install a dishwasher and install a new one.

He was at my house exactly when he said he would be and quickly was able to figure out the problem with the pipes. He was able to fix it and then he showed me how to use the water and ice maker on my new refrigerator. I was totally impressed with how professional, how quickly - no chit chatting, just gets to work and gets it done very professionally without a mess. I was so pleased that I asked him about another problem with a shower knob that I thought would be really hard to fix - but again, he gave me a price, explained the job and so I booked an appointment for Thur. June. 25 -and again, he was exactly on time and completed the work promptly and even took another Angie's List coupon.
Description of Work: I needed to have water supplied to a new refrigerator and the delivery guys couldn't do it. I also needed something repaired in my upstairs shower/tub. A part had to be ordered for that and so I made another appointment.

+ -1 moreFrom start to finish, the destruction, installation of new shower liner, and reconstruction of my master bathroom shower went exactly as predicted and planned. I experienced much less dirt and dust than I had expected and was served by real professionals in their respective fields. DOUGLAS ORR PLUMBING and KIMMONS BUILDERS sent their best and brightest with depth of experience in each task throughout the process.
Description of Work: Removed defective shower pan/liner and correctly installed a new shower pan/liner. DOUGLAS ORR PLUMBING pulled the permit from City of Miami and arranged both preliminary and final inspection and informed me what to expect. They recommended KIMMONS BUILDERS, INC to perfrom the removal of marble tile and reconstruction of the shower after the new liner was installed. ORR & KIMMONS worked hand in glove to coordinate and schedule work. Both companies kept me fully informed and they coordinated between themselves. My calls were answered promptly and professionally. Ricky & Little Ricky arrived promptly, installed the new shower pan expediently and neatly, and then "schooled" me on what they had done and what next steps would be. If your bathroom requires plumbing work, I HIGHLY recommend DOUGLAS ORR PLUMBING.
