Here's what I liked: - The guys showed up on time. - Every plumber who came to my house was clean, respectful, and spoke English. (The last bit only because I don't speak Spanish. If that weren't a language barrier issue for me, I wouldn't care.) - The work appears to have been quality. Everything works, nothing leaks, it all passed inspection. - They pulled the permits for me. For a fee, but they were upfront about it, and I was happy to pay the fee and let them handle it. Here's why I, personally, wouldn't use them again: - The Angie's list discount. I got a written estimate, but it didn't list the discount. I was verbally assured many times (and, of course, I have no proof of this, as I don't record my phone calls) that the discount would be taken off the top. At the end... I was told that the pricing had taken the discount into account... something that didn't jive with the conversations I'd had. - I asked for a pricing breakdown and didn't get one. No -- I didn't continually follow up - I asked a couple of times and gave up. However, in my book.... a customer should only have to ask once. The reason I wanted a breakdown was that the original price included installation of a sink. The sink was installed by the granite guys, so I was wondering why the plumber's price would stay the same. I never got a satisfactory answer. - I had trouble reaching someone to answer my questions. I sometimes had to call a couple of times, and then I was left feeling like I was a bother. - The truck does not seem very well equipped. During the time the plumber was here, I had to run to Home Depot 3 times to get supplies. The plumber did offer to go, but I shuddered to think what that would cost.... - The plumber who came to do the work was very nice, but, after telling me I needed to keep a copy of the permit for the inspection, he left with it. An honest mistake. However, I was unhappy with the way they handled that mistake. First, he said he'd bring it the next day, then I was told I didn't need it and they weren't bringing it, then someone evidently did bring it and taped it to my fence with packing tape -- never rang the doorbell to check with me. - Since they set up the inspection for me, I asked them to find out what the time window would be for the inspection. I had several other inspections, and it was no issue. They seemed hugely put out by my request. What I would do differently: Although I will not use this specific company again, what I will do differently next time is get EVERYTHING in writing. Before I start the work, I will insist on a detailed written breakdown, showing all discounts and the pricing for each item.

Douglas Orr came, saw and fixed my problem. I called Douglas Orr around noon and Ricky showed about an hour later. I explained the problem to him. He inspected the problem area and dilgently got to work. Two hours later, a new elbow joint and a thorough snake snake run later he was finished. My problem was fixed and I paid the gentleman. At all times Ricky was courteous and professional. He is a credit to his company. Good job Ricky and thank you Douglas Orr. I would not hesitate to use Douglas Orr again in the future.

The company was highly responsive when I called. They clearly explained the costs and services. I agreed that they would come at a certain time in the afternoon. They called back saying they had a plumber in the neighborhood and would arrive 2 hours earlier than scheduled. The plumber arrived and thoroughly cleaned out the sewer line, including a an additional pass through of the plumber's snake to completely clean out the line. The work was quick, price was fair and quality of service was excellent.

Alex, the plumber, showed up as scheduled. Proceeded to replace the faucet and was able to fix the disposal which was new, but had been jammed. I was able to return the unopened garbage disposal and get a refund. Thanks Douglas Orr ! Alex was friendly, clean, and professional. He showed concern about the customer and without being pushy suggested changing shut off valves that were due to be changed due to corrotion. I will definitely hire them again.

They were able to identify and resolve the problem. They did have to come back due to a leak in one of the toilets that they had worked on and addressed that problem for no additional cost. The plumber was professional, quick, courteous, and candid.

I called Douglas Orr and was able to schedule a service call right away. The technician, David Rodriguez, was excellent. He diagnosed the problem right away and fixed the leak immediately. He then took care of the drain in the other bathroom. I was impressed with the professionalism, speed and cost. I will definitely call them again.

This company responded quickly and professionally. My old water heater (approx. 20 years) finally gave out so I went to Angie's List. New water heater was installed the same day. The water leak by the outside meter was repaired the next day. Very prompt and professional.

Best service expierence I have ever had in south Florida in the 30 years I have lived here. They came early and charged less than was quoted.

I sent an email through Angie's List on Saturday to this company, got an email response on Sunday, and had a service tech here on Monday morning. He quickly determined the problem (a faulty electrical switch) and told me what and who I needed to do to fix it. Since I had him here, I had him check a tub faucett in the master bath. He quickly fixed it and was on his way. Outstanding customer service, and an outstanding service tech. This company now has my plumbing business.

Everything was great. Their prices are very reasonable. The service was fantastic. The plumber was neat and cleaned up after himself. I have seen them for 4 different things. Every time they come over, I am highly satisfied. I would highly recommend them.

Our problem was not fixed. We paid $162 and the technician left us with two bathrooms overflowing with water, and my mother bent over, sweating and scrambling to keep bathroom water from overflowing into our halls and carpet. The technician who came to our house was professional and prompt. He ran some kind of line down our pipes to check if there was drain stoppage ($162). His equipment broke during the work and we waited about an hour for someone to bring him a replacement. When he was done, we tested the bathroom and it continued to overflow so it was confirmed that drain stoppage was not the problem. After this, he told us he imagined it was a problem with the septic tank but wasn't sure. The next step would be to either call a septic tank company (because their company did not provide that service) and pay to drain the tank or he could schedule another appointment later that afternoon for another technician in their company to run a camera down the drain to get a better idea of what the problem was ($350). He pushed for calling the septic company. I had the impression he wanted to be done with job. Overall, what frustrated me most about the experience was the technician's lack of interest in getting to the root of our problem. He gave us an almost groundless diagnosis of our problem, as he did not take the time to even look at our pipes. He didn't seem to weigh in our home's history (it's very old) and other information I shared with him from other plumbers who'd previously looked into the problem (like calcium buildup in our pipes). He said he couldn't really rely on what another plumber had said about the pipes, which I understand. But I wonder why he didn't take the initiative to look at the pipes himself. This all translated into a lack of care and a lack of knowledge and experience on his part. In his defense, our plumbing problem is pretty major and it may be caused by combination of issues, which I imagine even the greatest plumber could not see from the surface (especially without the benefit of sending a camera down the drain, a service which our technician did not have a chance to perform). But I just wanted more initiative and care on our technician's part. I won't be calling this company back to use their camera. I don't think they can efficiently identify and fix our plumbing problem.

They arenot cheap, but they are reliable and get the job done right. I am happy with their work.

I had gotten this done as a second opinion to pricey repairs ($3,000+) another plumber had recommended due to some belling in the line. They came out at 7:00AM the next morning after I called and were punctual. They used a camera to check the entire line. While they oberserved the same belling the other plumber had, they recommended leaving it as is. They said that while it is bellied, it shouldn't cause a problem and you should wait until it backs up multiple times in a small period of time to do the repair. The other provider did not even present that as an option.

There was a little confusion regarding the appointment time that we set, but we all worked through it. The drain was cleared promptly and the total bill was less than what I expected. The plumber seemed knowledgeable. I WOULD use this business agin if needed.

Excellent response and service. Scheduled the appointment the day before for service at 7:00 am in the morning. Plumber arrived at 6:55 pm and was done by 7:30 am. Completed job and cleaned up. Very prompt and professional and the cost was fantastic. I will never let my husband do another plumbing job on his own after this experience.

The plumber worked very efficiently. He patiently answered all our questions as he worked. He really inspired our confidence in his company. The appointment scheduler was very responsive.

So, I'm showering and go to turn up the hot water a bit more and PLOP! Off comes the hot water knob and this long screw and other part thingy. I couldn't screw the knob back in and water began to gush from the pipe. I had to press my hand against the hole to keep it from overflowing until the water could be shut off. I emailed Douglas Orr the next morning and within 5 minutes (literally) got a call from Vicky and scheduled an appointment. The plumber, Andres, was prompt and quickly assessed and fixed the problem. I also had a clogged drain in another bathroom snaked (if that makes any sense). I would definitely recommend Douglas Orr Plumbing to others.

They did a very good job and I was very thankful that they were living up to their AL ratings.

The experience from beginning to end was a model of efficiency, professionalism and courtesy. My initial email describing the problems prompted a pleasant phone call during which an appointment for the next morning was set up. Bill Dopico, the plumber, arrived promptly at the appointed time, and went right to work. The valves in this bathtub are antiques and I half expected to be told that the entire valve system needed to be replaced which would have involved removing tile and part of the wall and an expensive re-tiling. However, Bill took the valves apart with great care, removed the offending washers, replaced them with new washers, removed, inspected and resurfaced the valve seats and repacked the diverter valve. He put everything back together and cleaned up. The handles and trim on the bathtub were corroded and needed to be replaced. Since they were antiques, Bill suggested a plumping supply vendor that might have the trim in stock. He advised me to take closeup pictures of the valves (along with the handles and trim) with me when I went. This advice proved very useful in locating and replacing the handles and trim since the spline in the valves was much smaller than what has become the industry standard. We then moved on to the toilets. The symptoms we had experienced with the toilets had me concerned that the drainage system might be clogged and/or the septic tank was backing up. Bill inspected the toilets and asked a few questions. He then made a simple adjustment on the valve that had been causing the most trouble and cleaned the jets on all three toilets, and advised me to replace all three flappers. One of the valves is an off brand and refilled the tank very slowly. Bill suggested I replace that valve (which I can do on my own.) After assessing the situation, he helped me realize that the drainage system and septic tank were not part of the problem. I have since replaced the three flappers. and the toilets are working fine. Bottom line? I believe Bill is truly interested in solving the problems, not racking up hours or selling parts. Problems solved.

We had a real problem, our toilet was overflowing, and when we tried to plunge it, raw sewage came up through our bathtubs in all the bathrooms in the house, and all the other drains seemed clogged to some extent too .We Called Douglas Orr Plumbing based on all of the positive reports from Angies List. The plumber came out very quickly, snaked out our sewer all the way to the mainline (over 120 feet), and did the job quickly, with professional courtesy, and a great attitude. He didn't charge me travel time because he was close, (he could have, ) and finished the job within an Hour. It was worth every cent. I will use them again and recommend them without a doubt. (Unless, of course, the pipe explodes and fills my home with raw sewage in the next few days.... I'll let you know.)

We spent probably about $2000 because it was a hybrid hot water heater. They were professional and the workers were friendly.
