Excellent! From the office personnel answering the phone to the gentleman providing the service were very professioanal, courteous and friendly.

Good experience overall. The plumber was at the house 10 min early, got to work and resolved the problem in a very timely and courteous manner.

They came out gave me an estimate for labor etc... Which was around 4 hours labor at $89 per hour. I was off site but I gave them the OK and they began right then. They excavated the line from the water box to the building which is only 12 ft. The building is on Miami Beach and it is built right next to the sidewalk. They found there was a shut off valve already there about 18 inches under ground. They tested it and it worked fine. The problem I have was that they installed the access box but they used a 7 inch box I was not there so I couldn't tell him to use a different box . The box is still 11 inches below grade and every time it rains it gets covered over again. I went to lowes and bought a much deeper box for around $16 and went ahead and dug it out and installed it myself. I gave them a good rating because even with this lack of thought on there behalf they did a much better job than the other 2 companies used in the past and for a much better price. They were on time, responsive, fairly priced, and gave me fast service. I would use them again but next time I might hang around and make sure I agree with everything before they finish.

Called on Thursday 28th of June around 5p as I could hear water rushing really hard within my walls and my husband was out of town.Plumber able to come out following evening and checked for leak for 1 hour unable to find. It was late in the day and they came late to acommodate my work. They could not see under the house once dark. Monday they returned early. Leak was located at 3p in hte afternoon. I called the office and they advised that this had taken too long and that they were going to charge me the one hour minimum and parts. I thought this was more than fair and I am absolutly sure that I will be calling them again whether my husband is in town or out. Fair service - On time - Reliable . All the signs of good people to know.

It was an emergency toilet problem, and the guy came out at about 8.30 in the morning. He was very cheerful, very personable, and really tidy and clean. He had a very upbeat personality. He did the work quickly. The price was less than I thought.

The techniocian arrived exactly as scheduled. He had the appropriate tools on hand and did a very professional job of cleaning the drains. Price was reasonable. I'm very pleased with their service.

Called the company and early in the week to make a appointment and get prices, was quoted there was a charge for labor for $94 dollars + $45 dollars (or so) for every half-hour after the first hour + any other parts if needed, to which I agree. The plumber arrived about 10 minutes after schedule time, overall not bad. He had with him a tool case and a drain snake inside of a bucket, which I thought was excellent. I explained to him I tried to reach the clog with a 20ft snake but was unsuccessful since I did not reach it, he said the one he had was 25ft and he would start with that. After maybe 35-40 minutes the work was completed. Before leaving he wiped the inside of the cabinet where water had dripped and tested to make sure the water was going down smoothly. He then told me we would take the tools back and would return with the service work order. After I signed the service work order and gave him the check, he provided me with a copy of the service work order (invoice/receipt). Since work was done in the morning (before I left to work), I just left the "receipt" on the table and left. When I got back home I looked at the description of the work done and the description of the charges, and that's when I noticed something. There was a charge for "EQUIPMENT" which at that point I did not understand what it meant. I called the company back after a few days and spoke with (Debbie) a lady in accounting that told me this charge was for "WEAR AND TEAR". I'm sorry but when I take my car to a mechanic he does not charge me for a wear and tear on his wrench or screw driver... or when I go to a restaurant, I don't see a charge for wear and tear on the utensils I used... I can go on and on with other examples. Here is the deal, I am a photographer, I don't charge people wear and tear on my memory stick, or my professional camera... BECAUSE, these are the professional equipments I need to use to do my job, for that matter if I didn't have these equipments, I wouldn't be a professional photographer, I would be a tourist, taking vacation pictures. For that matter the plumber used my electricity for his powered drain snake, I didn't see a discount for (USED CUSTOMERS ELECTRICITY FOR DOING MY JOB). Point is, when I call for a professional service, I expect they will have the professional equipment needed to complete the job and will gladly pay for whatever the "LABOR" cost is, that's is why I call a professional, but I should not pay more for him using his equipment. Overall, great... great... great service, but would not use it again or recommended.

My expectations were met, the experience was pleasant, Luis knew what he was doing so I feel confident with the work performed.

Very positively impressed with the company. They were extremely professional and responsive on the phone. They scheduled the appointment and called the day before to confirm. Plumber came in exactly when we scheduled. He was very friendly and professional, and explained everything that needed to be done. The job was a little messy--he didn't have exactly the same size of connector, so the faucet now sticks out from the backsplash a little bit. He offered to order the right size connector and come back, but would have to charge me for that. I declined. That's why I'm giving an overall B. The price was fair, and the work was professional, all things considered. I'd definitely call them again.

The plumber arrived a few minutes early. He took about 1 1/2 hours to install a new garbage disposal under the kitchen sink because the pipe(s) from the old gargage disposal didn't match up with the new one(s). He had the correct plumbing supplies in his van so was able to correct the problem. In the bathroom, I also had a toilet that flushed but the handle had to be held down until the flushing was over. He fixed that and in the same bathroom, the sink leaked when the faucet was turned on and also the faucet had a constant slow drip. He repaired all of the problems in the bathroom in about 1/2 an hour. I am very pleased with his work.

Although none of my problems needed urgent repair, I decided to check Angie's List and call one of the A rated companies. I called Douglas Orr Plumbing. My home in Miami, Florida, was built in 1968. They advised me that it was unlikely that I could have the repairs made on that same day, but I could schedule an appointment the following day. That worked fine for me. The next morning, I received a call from the office that a plumber was on his way to my home and should arrive within the next 30 minutes. About 25 minutes later, Manny arrived, and immediately began working. He checked item 3 (rarely used toilet not working) and fixed it in about 10 minutes. He next checked the main water cut off valve to the house. He replaced the old valve and installed a new (and simpler) cut off valve. Next, he suggested that the kitchen faucet be replaced and I readily agreed. He had a replacement faucet in his truck and he then replace the old one with the new one. It works much better than the older one. Because of the multiple flushes required for the main toilet in the house, uncovered the septic tank and checked it out. He advised me to have it flushed out in the near future and it should solve the problem. The bill was $231 for the 2.5 hours of labor involved and $174 for the kitchen faucet and the cut-off valve, for a total bill of $405. I was extremely pleased with the scheduling of the repairs and with Manny who did the work.

They are always here on time. They help me whenever I have an emergency. They are a wonderful company.

After trying for 6 hours to do the job ourselves, we called Douglas Orr Plumbing, based on the reviews. We could not have made a better decision. After listening to how we tried to solve the clog, Tom was up the ladder with the snake, onto the roof and done within 30 minutes. I would highly recommend this company for any plumbing needs. Tom was a true professional, had a great sense of humor, and performed a perfect job. Thanks for clearing up our s****y clog!

Repairman, Boris, arrived on time, 7:00am, got right to work. Worked for 2 1/2 hours. Kept us informed and successfully repaired the leak in our plumbing.

Luis Rojas arrived at the home at 7 a.m. as promised. I had several problems that I wanted Luis to look over. He listened to my concerns and looked over the issues before starting the work. Luis went over the cost of repairing certain items versus installing new items before he started working. He fixed the leak on the valve of the washing machine by installing graphite packing to stop the leak. Luis removed the broken restrictor from the spray head in the kitchen sink and installed the pop up bar in the guest bathroom sink. He also showed me where the shut off valve was for the condo. It was outside of the building.

Efficient, Expeditious, Professional, Punctual & Affordable can describe my experience with Douglas Orr. I had a leak from my supply pipe under the kitchen sink, loose valves under the bedroom bathroom sink and a 'running' toilet. My initial appointment call and follow up call were handled very professionally - letting me know exactly when the technician would arrive. The plumbing expert was courteous, friendly and quick at correctly assessing my various problems and offered great recommendations that I had not received from other plumbing companies. He was not aggressive about 'adding on' or 'selling' me more than I needed, which was greatly appreciated given my other experiences. He did not waste time, did not bother me while I was working from home, explained each process thoroughly in a manner I could understand and finished in record time, very neatly! He asked about properly discarding removed parts and cleaned the service areas as I would have. I highly recommend this company!

I called Orr plumbing a 9:00am because I had a major leak in my bathtub. I had called another Angie's List plumber the day before (Davis- see separate review) and they really gave me a run-around- promising to show up the next day and then cancelling. The plumber from Orr showed up in about a half-hour. Despite the fact that it was a major job that required a jackhammer and other specialized equipment. Unlike his counterpart at Davis, he had everything he needed on his truck and got right to work. The plumber was competent, professional and completed the work in 4 hours. I would definitely use Orr plumbing again and recommend them without hesitation.

We had a recurring sewage backup issue in the house due to the fact that the roots of a palm tree were pushing down on the sewage line. Some of the early estimates from companies such as Roto-Rooter called for anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 to replace the sewage line which also implied either removing a valuable palm tree or removing entire sections of my driveway. The estimate from Douglas Orr, on the other hand, was $1,190 and their proposal did not require the removal of the tree or touching the driveway. Instead I use George Helton from Trees with Leaves to partially grind the roots of the palm tree, and Douglas Orr Plumbing came and replaced my sewage line. The work took place over two solid days of hard work for those guys. Now the job is done, the sewage issues have been solved, and their service saved me thousands of dollars compared to companies like Roto-Rooter. I couldn't ask for a better price or more punctual and professional people. I HIGHLY recommend their services!

I was satisfied about his service. He has been excellent as far as fixing problems. He was very prompt and fixed it super fast. The price was right and exactly what he quoted. He is here when he says he is going to be here at a certain time. He and his staff do not fiddle around when they come in but rather perform the job and leave. I would recommend him to others. I would use him again in the future.

I had a nightmare plumbing situation with a geyser under my house at 4am. After having MDWASD shut off the water at the meter, I called my regular plumber and several others; all were booked. I joined Angie's list specifically to find a plumber and Douglas Orr was the first company on the list. THey were excellent in every way; I'm very glad I contacted them. The office/dispatch staff were friendly, communicative, helpful. They understood my situation was an emergency and had a plumber to me within 3 hours. I was afraid of getting gouged. The bill was $150, whew. The plumber, David, was extremely capable and thorough yet quick. After fixing the problem, he spent a lot of time with me answering my questions and even made notes on a sheet of paper with recommendations & a list for a future plumbing job-- I was interested to save money and do part of the job myself, then hire Douglas Orr for the tough part. I will definitely call them again, they were great.

When I had them out the first time I had gone to three plumbers before them, who were not able to figure out what the problem was and they did. I called them this morning and they came out this afternoon. They took care of the problem. They were prompt, courteous and clean and they were very reasonably priced.

The team reported to my house exactly at 7:30am as scheduled, couldn't be more punctual. They explained their process, proceeded to do the camera scoping, handed me a DVD illustrating the issue and took time to explain the problem to me as well as ways to resolve it. Their findings were then handed over to one of their estimators who worked out a quote for me and called me the next day. I am very pleased with their services.

Fast and clean service. Fixed the problem toilet and inspected the others to see if there were any problems as well. Installed dishwasher too as an added job. Very courteous and professional.

What should have been a simple faucet replacement in my parents' condo became complicated when the valve stem of the water shutoff valve literally came out. I called a couple of plumbers from Angie's List, and went with Douglas Orr Plumbing for the job. Their office staff was very friendly, helpful, and straight forward. They told me very clearly how the pricing worked so that I could know exactly what to expect. Of course, since they charge by the hour, and one can never know if other hidden problems will be encountered during the job, it is impossible to specify a price. But they were able to very closely ballpark a "between this and that" many hours for each part of the job, so I could guesstimate a low and high price range. I decided that since they were going to be changing the shutoff valve, may as well install two valves under the sink, and replace the toilet, and oh yeah, the faucet which started it all. When I asked for a good toilet, they suggested the American Standard Cadet 3 (the one that can flush golf balls - my folks are super happy with it), and gave me a very good price. Alex the plumber showed up right on time, and is a great, friendly young guy who knows what he's doing. It was a messy job since the wall had to be broken, and if any of you know what the old fashioned "coral sand" drywall is, you know what a mess it makes. But Alex kept the mess confined to the bathroom and cleaned it up spotless afterwards. He installed a ball valve on the pipe, so with the handle in the on position it is completely inside the wall, and covered it with an access panel so that if ever it needs to be shut off, there is no tile to break through. When everything was done, the final price came in about $20 less than a competitor's quote (that quote included installing the new toilet, but not the toilet itself). So, I am definitely happy that I chose Douglass Orr and they definitely deserve an A (an A+ if possible), on their prices, no surprises, excellent quality work and great responsiveness.

Scheduled the week before because it was not an emergency. Technician (Luis) was professional and courteous, arrived on time and completed the work within 1 hour. Price included 10% discount off labor per coupon on Angie's List. I will use this company again for my future plumbing needs.
