I sent an email using Angie's list messaging system the day before to setup an appointment since it was past 5pm and they were closed. I did not receive a response till the next they so I called at 7:30am. I was told I was late to setup a service call for the day and I would have to pay extra for someone to show up the same day. When I asked about the time for service, I was told it could be any time in the day. Great response after asking for an extra payment to get service. By the way I had used this company last year and they were more customer friendly. Long story short, I ended up calling another provider and received a better response time and no extra charges. Sometimes a good rating doesn't mean better customer service.

.The work was done professionally and efficiently. Explained the parts that were needed to be replaced, went out and got them and came back almost immediately, work was done and he cleaned up after himself. I would recommend them any time.

The garbage disposal in our kitchen sink stopped working. I checked Angie's List and saw that Douglas Orr Plumbing had a very high rating. I called them and made an appointment. The woman that answered the phone was friendly and helpful. When the plumber came out he was able to fix the disposal in a very short time and it has been working ever since (it's been 2.5 weeks since the repair). I was very happy that he could fix it rather than have to replace it (which is what I thought would happen).

JR was prompt and on-time. He identified what was wrong, fixed it quickly and cleaned up after himself.

I recently purchased a home. The tankless water heater was defective and needed to be replaced. I knew this because I was getting intermitent hot water and because the previous owners had informed me that it needed to be replaced. I called Douglas Plumbing to have my tankless water heater replaced and ended up paying $84.60 for a technician to come to my house and tell me that I needed to in fact have the tankless water heater replaced. What a great business model! Let me charge you for coming to your house and telling you what you already knew. Obviously the techinician did not have a tankless water heater handy (even thought that is what I requested when I called), so he could not perform the work that day. He proceeded to make a million phone calls ranging from asking the price for the new tankless water hearter (which was $100 more expensive than any other vendor- I checked) to "scheduling" someone to come do the work as "soon as possible". I was told that another technician was going to come perform the installation at 10:30am the next day. Not only did no one show up at 10:30am but when I called the comapny to ask for an update, I was attended by one of the most rude people I have ever dealt with. The lady could have cared less about my needs and flat out simply said that she could not give me an approximate time of arrival, because if they didn't show around that time they've said, then they would be held accountable. WHAT? Seriously? I asked to speak to a manager. He reiterated that in fact I should sit in my house all day waiting for someone to show up at some time. He also made the mistake to let me know that the tankless water heater was STILL in his possession. Meaning that it was already almost 12:00 in the afternoon and there was no technician on its way to my house. I also asked him if they were planing to apply the money I paid the day before into the installation and he said NO. That, to me is as close as to robbing someone. Needless to say I canceled the service call. I prefer to wait one more day without hot water than to give my business to an inconsiderate, disrespectful, non accountable company. Decent costumer service is getting harder and harder to find around here and I will not put up with it if I can help it!

He spent an hour with my other contractor that was in the house and tried to charge me $100 for talking with him about non plumbing related issues. After he left, I found that my drain was still leaking. Before he came the second time, I tried to call back to make a complaint and tell someone was going on, the receptionist was very rude and hung up on me and I had to call back about 5 times to speak with someone else. The tub drain was not fixed until he came back 3 weeks later, re-cauked it, and said I would have to push my foot down on the drain so it would work. They tried to charge me again even though it wasn't fixed properly the first time and still was not fixed properly. I felt that they were very unprofessional and I would not recommend them. By the way I am blind and they had no quams about taking advantage of my disability.

David R was on time. He is extremely polite and a total professional. I can not say enough good about him and his excellent work. If you can get him assigned to your job you are very lucky. If I have to and can wait for him to be available, I will in the future

I was surprised that David arrived so puntually. Then I was pleasantly suprised with David's trouble shooting questions that he asked. He cleaned the lines by 'snaking' all drains through the roof vents. David R. is very polite, pleasant and VERY good in my opinion.

They came out a few times for a few different issues. They were prompt and professional.

The plumber did a great job. He was punctual, polite, worked quickly. Everything was fixed very well.

They came to replace the leaking spigots that connect my washing machine first. I also had them check for gas leaks on appliances I installed myself, and they found one on my dryer and fixed it. He also rotated a fitting on my range so that it would slide all the way back to the wall. This job cost about $250. I had a tech named Alex and he was very helpful. He explained what he would be doing and how long it would take and always gave several options. He also provided me with an estimate to install a water line to connect my fridge and didn't provide a written quote because he said it would be cheaper using time and materials. He returned later to complete the water line installation. He installed a 1/2" copper line from the water inlet of my house outside, into my attic, and down to the fridge. He did this all for $550 including materials.

I had a pet sitter put kitty litter down my shower drain unbeknowns to me until I tried to use the guest shower. Not a lot of companies will do a drain snake in a highrise condo building because of the insurance needed. I called and scheduled service on a Monday morning on the previous Tuesday or Wednesday. Because of my location and for calling ahead, I was the very first call of the day and had no travel charge. My contact at the office was extremely helpful, and without my prompting, offered to send over insurance info to the building manager in time for the serice call. The plumber arrived right on time. He very knowledgeable and helpful, and gave me some tips about sewer gases. He even put down a discount without me asking. This was the most fabulous visit with a plumber ever.

It was Saturday and the pipe connected to my water hose broke making it necessary to shut off the water in my house. I went to Angie's list and found Douglas Orr Plumbing highly recommended so I called them. I was really happy that they would be able to do the work that day. Their service technician arrived and in about 1/2 hour had the problem fixed. They were highly professional and their price for the service was more than fair since it was the weekend and extra charges applied. I am very satisfied with there work and would use them again and recommend them.

Called them to get an estimate to secure a drain pipe in the crawl space of my house. They wanted to charge me $200 to get an estimate. They also would not waive that fee or offer a credit if I used them for the work. Are you kidding me?!?! Every other licensed plumber in the area asked for less than half that amount and offered to comp the call time if I used them for the work.

We are thrilled with them. They came when they were supposed to show up. There was no waiting time. He went right to work. He didn't look up the whole time he was here. I would recommend them.

After the repair one toilet was still leaking so they came back to follow up and then were able to stop the leak. They were efficient and responsive in repairing the leak. I was pleased with their service and I would use them again.

The stoppage could not be cleared by snaking through the outside access. It was necessary to remove the toliet to clear the pipe. Tom worked quickly and was very careful not to track anthing through the house and left the area very clean. I do have 2 issues I'd like to mention. I didn't realize I had to pay the travel time. Maybe I missed that somewhere in arranging for service but 1 hour at $94. is alot. The 2nd issue is that I wish he had told me there is a product I ccould buy at Lowes or Home Depot that hopefully would help to prevent this from happening again. Which it did, 4 1/2 months later. I used another plumbing service for the 2nd stoppage and although this plumber told me about the tree-root cleaner product (drive time issue aside), my experience with Douglas Orr was the better of the 2.

They were very punctual and efficient, they were here about 3 hours, all of the jobs they fixed are fine now. Will definitely use again.

I called Douglas Orr Plumbing about a water leak and the dispatcher sent out a Plumber right away. Jose was very thorough in checking out the leak. He kept me informed about everything he needed to do. He dug up the pipes and showed me exactly where the leak was. He replaced the pipes and corrected some additional problems to make everything right. I was very impressed with Jose's professionalism. He brought all the tools and replacement parts with him to do the job right. Thank you, Jose, for a job well done.

Both of my toilets would not flush properly. The plumber was very friendly and professional. He fixed both toilets and I have no other plumbing issues. I would definitely use them again.

After reading multiple reviews on Angie's list, we called Douglas Orr Plumbing to fix a leak at the intake coupling of the motor for our jetted tub. My husband explained exactly what the problem was, and we were assured they could take care of it, so we made an appointment for Friday. The problems began immediately. The serviceman they sent out claimed his GPS sent him the wrong way, so his travel time was over an hour, for which he wanted to charge us. He looked at the pump and said "Oh, the coupling is just loose, I'll tighten it". Apparently he tightened it too far, because the next thing was "Oh, it's cracked, I'll have to replace it". That would have been fine, but he didn't have the parts with him and would have to come back out to fix it. He then spent the next 20 minutes texting with his office to 'order the parts'. At this point, the charges were up to $141. To be fair, when my husband called to complain, they did take off the additional 'travel time' and reduced the charge to $84. On Tuesday, we finally called them back to ask WHEN they would be coming back out, since we had not heard anything, and they said they would have someone out here today at 7:30. This serviceman (not the same one) also got lost. When he went into the bathroom, he said "Oh, I'll have to open up that wall to fix this." The first guy NEVER INDICATED that was necessary. He had been able to get to the pump through the existing access panel and first 'tighten', then remove the broken parts with no problem. At that point we said forget it. The entire experience has left a really bad taste, and we would never use Douglas Orr Plumbing again, and would not recommend them to anyone. We have not yet heard from them regarding any charges from today's visit.

We were having issues with our toilet and a clog somewhere down the line. Serviceman did a great job fixing it. My complaint is that when I called to request service, I was told repeatedly that they would let me know when they dispatch the vehicle so that I know when the clock starts, although you are not charged over 30min. She said the closest employees were 8 and 11 miles from my house. About two hours after I made the call, our doorbell rings. We never received the dispatch call so who knows how long it took the man to get here. I believe the drive time fee in our case was a scam, however, we needed it fixed and they did the job. Would use them again.

The plumber arrived on time. He was extremely nice and professional. My total experience including scheduling with the office was very positive!

Everything was great....They are always very professional. Main drain had to be snaked out. This was a Sunday call and Matt arrived with a smile after an hour drive. I had extra guest in the house for the week and Douglas Orr came to the rescue. Thank You So Much.........and Kudos to Matt!!!!!!!!

I could not afford to wait for someone who would not even say when they could respond. I called Coral Gables Plumbing who did advise me when the plumber would be sent. They arrived and did the work in a professional manner, guaranteeing their work as well. While the job was not cheap I am very satisfied with the quality of their work.
