We use Douglas Orr for the majority of all our plumbing needs. They are professional, reliable, and responsive with same day good service.

Office was very professional. Scheduled work within only a couple days. Plumber perform work neatly and efficiently. Very pleased that service at a fair price.

They want to charge for an estimate so I wont use their service.

At 40 minutes after my appointment was scheduled, still no call, no show. At nearly $100 just to come out that is not acceptable to me. I called to cancel my appointment so I could look for a more responsible provider.

We were pretty happy with the service we got. They were on time, professional and courteous.

He’s good. He knew what he’s doing. He wasn’t the cheapest but that’s fine. He was confident. When we asked him to take off his shoes and do various things, he cooperated and did it. He showed me what was wrong and was vocally efficient about it.

If you are thinking of hiring these guys DON'T!!! I contacted Douglas Orr plumbing because they were highly rated. I needed a bathroom sink drain unclogged. This is at rental property I own in Miami. I live in New York. I arranged for my tenant to meet the plumber. When I spoke to Megan on the phone we arranged a time and she gave me some instruction in order to get the Angie's List discount. You have to provide a credit card number to book the appointment. I had asked for an appointment after 1 pm. I asked her at that time to be sure to have the plumber call me once he had assessed the situation so I could get an idea of the time involved and price. At that time she did not tell me that they charge you for the time it takes the plumber to drive to my apartment from wherever he is. She also did not tell me anything about an ? equipment charge?. I got a text from my tenant when no one showed up around 1 pm. I contacted Orr Plumbing to learn they were at another job and would be there afterwards. With all the other info when making the appointment I did not realize I hadn't gotten a specific appointment time or window. They took this to mean they could come anytime they got to it after one o?clock. Some miscommunication there but not a big deal. I called my tenant at 3:00 and they still had not arrived yet. Sent her a text at 3:55 to learn that he had showed up at 3:30 then left for ?30-40? minutes but was now working on it. So, no call from the plumber with any information as I had asked. I happened to be going out of town that day so assumed when it was done I would hear from the plumber or the company for authorization to charge my card, they would leave an invoice, something. This company is supposed be excellent and have an ?A? rating after all. Looking at my online credit card statement upon returning home I saw that had just charged my credit $241.50 without any contact or authorization for the amount charged. At this point I have not seen a bill, invoice, no breakdown of charges or any contact since I booked the appointment. In ten years of owning this property and others, dealing with many different types of contractors I have never had this happen where there was no communication at all and they just ran the charge. I called them up to get some explanation of the charges and talked to Vicky. She informed me that the plumber was ?dispatched? at 2:30, arrived at my apartment at 3:00 and was there until 5:30. So the meter started running for an hour before he even arrived. I have NEVER had any type of service provider charge me for travel time. This is a cost of doing business and ridiculous for them to try to charge their customers for this. There was also a $30 ?equipment charge? for using a snake. I was clear when I made the appointment that I had a clogged drain. More than likely they would have to use a snake so a logical person would think this would be the time for them to tell you if they tack on an extra charge to use this piece of equipment. This is absurd to me as well. It?s like hiring a carpenter and him charging you extra because he had to use a hammer. At this point she offered to email me a copy of the bill so I could look at it while we talked. I did not receive anything, I let her know this and asked her to resend it but even today I still have not seen a bill of any kind. I told her the plumber didn?t arrive until 3:30 not 2:30 but was told I had been informed I would be charged for the travel time when I booked the appointment. I definitely was not. I asked what the equipment charge was. She said that was because the guy had to use a snake to unclog the drain. I protested that charge also because I was not advised of it either. I also told her that the guy arrived but then left for 30-40 minutes. She said she would have to talk with the plumber about all this and get back to me. That was April 4th. I still have not heard one word from them. I don?t dispute the entire amount, I did receive service from them, I?m guessing one hour of labor. They did unclog the drain and deserve to be paid for that. I still to this day, almost three months later have not heard back from them. I've disputed part of the charge with my credit card company which has been time consuming, writing detailed description of events like this as well and may phone calls At the time I contacted Orr Plumbing I had a list of over a dozen ?A? rated plumbers in front of me. If I had been made aware of these extra charges and hidden fees I would have just called someone else and avoided all this. Douglas Orr Plumbing was a disaster. A little let down by Angie's List as well, I joined in order to avoid this very situation. Do yourself a huge favor and hire another plumber, NOT THESE GUYS. Good Luck

I'm a retired architect, construction manager, G. C. and home improvement do-it-yourselfer, and constantly involved in some project or another around the house. Some time ago I replaced the original baseboard in our office with a more traditional (and taller) board, using a nail gun loaded with 2" brads. Two of these brads hit a copper water pipe which happened to run snug against the drywall at baseboard level, causing leaks. Douglas Orr sent a personable and professional plumber named Tom T. who went right to work, found and repaired the leaks, and cleaned up afterwards, leaving the office space in good order. His paperwork was neat and legible. Two glitches in the dispatch: We were informed that a plumber would show up sometime that day, and were promised a call to my cellphone 30 minutes prior to his arrival; the phone rang 5 minutes after he had gotten here. We happened to be at home, lucky that we didn't miss each other. Then a second plumber arrived; somehow two plumbers had been sent to the same job. S**t happens? You want all the details, you got all the details! But all in all, a topnotch job. I am grateful for a job well done.

My experience with him was very good. He was friendly and efficient. He did some additional work that we asked him to do. He was very reliable and honest. We will definitely use him again. He didn’t say that we should replace that item but we did it ourselves. He didn’t push it.

Yuri Alarez from Douglas Orr Plumbing was very punctual and professional. He arrived on-time and took all the steps to a**** the problem with my water leaking from one of my toilets. He also look at and replaced a part with one of my other toilets also. I was very pleased I did not have a big issue and it was a simple cost effective fix.

I was just charged $350 to fix a leaky faucet because it is Saturday. Their hours are banker hours - M-F and you have to use their emergency service if your plumbing needs happen at night or over the weekend. Really? Are they serious? And the minimum charge is $140 per hour during emergency service. This faucet was originally installed 60 days ago by a tech from Douglas Orr Plumbing. They only guarantee their work for 30 days. It was the 3rd time I used their services. The 1st service (replace toilet float kit) was not done well and the 2nd service was to correct first. Figured I give them another try. Faucet was installed by the tech from my first service that I had asked not to have him return. But I let him go ahead and install the faucet. He installed the faucet but was unable to install the soap pump dispenser even though it was just a matter of replacing the existing one. Hose inside faucet was not secured tightly which caused the leak today. The tech today was very pleasant and almost apologetic about the charge. I WILL NEVER NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

I called D Orr to request an estimate to replace portions of the plumbing in my 1920's home. I was told that they would send two engineers and I was also told that the estimate would be in the range of $150.00 I agreed because this was a reputable company recommended by the members of Angie's list. I gave them my credit card number to charge the fee to come to the site and do an on-site assessment and appraisal. I was not expecting to be charged hourly rates for the two individuals that showed up. I also was NOT told that the total fee to prepare an estimate was going to be $417.00. When I receive the proposal, it stated that the work would cost the time of the laborers and the materials. Huh??? Couldn't they have said that over the phone? What was the on-site visit for? I had also asked the plumbers who came to the house to include in the estimate to replace a water heater and a sink. Their response to that basic service was also that it would be time and materials. I feel totally ripped off. This company clearly does not want residential business. What a disappointment with a company I called and relied upon because of its Angie's List rating.

He was on time and completed the job sooner than anticipated. He also was able to complete another job we had been thinking about doing to the dishwasher. He gave a quote and completed it right then. Great job

In the end the job was done well and to my satisfaction, bottom line. But the work and communication were hot and cold (excuse the pun). I had worked with this plumber in the past and was surprised by a few glitches. Admittedly a challenging job: to replace the faucet handles in our older home, but that's why I called a professional. We had to order parts and there was no word back for some time, the ball got dropped. Then the wrong parts were ordered. Finally got the job done - it just took a lot longer than I'd expected.

My plumber was Luis Rojas. He was on time, very professional and he gave helpful advise. He was very knowledgeable and confident about what he does and I am extremely happy with his work.

Plumbing can be expensive, but never thought we'd be billed so much. We were advised the closest tech was dispatched to our location (he was in Miami Beach, and we live in Miami Beach) yet it took him 35 minutes to arrice to my location. In 35 min, I drive across town! Obviously you are charged $100/ hr for his plumbing driving expertise. With that being said, he did his work, took 20 min to "get parts" in his van. He was seen talking on his phone and charged us for this time. The manager said he would give us a break but never did apply the credit to our card. This issue is on top of an additional charge they billed us and deny having made! I had to dispute the charges with my credit card company. I feel like the techs drag their feet to bill you more, it's obvious. It's disappointing it had to be that way but WOULD NOT RECOMMEND their service and will stay away in the future.

They plumber was professional and friendly.

My overall experience with them went well. The moment I search for them, I called them and that is when I used them, but I did not use them again. The job went well and they were really good.

Prompt, professional and courteous.

The toilet is slanted backwards and the plumber said that he needed some tools since the floor wasn't level and I went to purchase the grout. He finished the work and left and my wife also noticed the slant. I went and brought a level and noticed that it wasn't leveled. I did reach out to the company to resolve the issue and said they wouldn't be able to handle the issue until Monday. I was also billed for an extra hour of work.

It went very well. The installer was very professional and meticulous in of both the removal of the old unit and installation of the new one. I was very pleased with the job and would recommend this company to anyone needing plumbing services.
