Wow! This was truly a fantastic experience from our 1st call to the end result. My husband and I decided to replace our guest bathroom facet as part of a partial bathroom update. Seemed simple - wrong. Our house is over 45 years old and the main pipe was corroded and was soldered in. After some creative banging to get something in position, the disruption caused the corroded pipe to start leaking about 3 inches from the wall. Since it was 2 days before Christmas and we have a large party (over 30 people) on Christmas Eve, I started to panic. Our limited soldering skills were not going to work here so I frantically started searching Angie's List and called Douglas Orr Plumbing. My call was pleasantly answered right and away and when I explained my delimna, she immediately transferred me to their service department. Again, the female who answered was equally polite and calmed me down by telling me she would put me on today's schedule! She told me the hourly rate which sounded reasonable and told me that travel time would be included up to 30 minutes, but also explained that most of their workers were closer than 30 minutes. This also seemed reasonable. When I hung up, I forgot to tell her I found them on Angie's List and there was a coupon so I called back. She told me no problem and she quoted the new price and again assured me we were "on schedule" for today. I had to go to work, but my husband told me a plumber from their company showed up at about 3:30pm and finished in about 35 to 40 minutes! My husband said he was polite, knowledgeble and used all quality parts. He used a threaded brass coupling and chrome piping and replaced the entire pipe from the bottom of the sink to the wall. He told my husband he used the brass coupling so that it could be easily replaced in the future if necessary. My husband was completely thrilled with the courtesy the plumber showed along with his professionalism, knowledge, work ethic and skill. The price shown above also includes parts! We will absolutely use this company in any future refurbishing or repairs. Fantastic job!!!

They are great. They came out on time, and they did what we asked them to do. The gentleman came in, and he was really clean.

Douglas Dorr is the only plumbing company I'll use from now on. They were courteous, responsive, professional, clean AND reasonably priced!! Can't rate them highly enough.

***DO NOT USE DOUGLAS ORR PLUMBING*** Scheduling the appointment. I called Douglas Orr Plumbing to fix a leaky faucet in my bathroom. The customer service representative at the company scheduled an appointment window for the next day between 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. The customer service representative stated that I would receive a call 30 minutes prior to the plumber showing up. No mention was made regarding travel costs. The "Repair". Fast forward to the day of the appointment, it is 20 minutes past my appointment window and no one has shown up from the company, or called to let me know they might be late. Instead, I had to call the company and explain the situation, at which point they finally dispatched a plumber to my residence. The plumber finally showed up at my house after 1:00 pm and began working on the faucet. After taking the face plate off of the faucet, and many trips to his truck, the plumber announced that he did not have the parts to fix the leak. Instead, he would have to order the parts and come back another time to fix the leak. I received a bill for approximately $150, which included half an hour of travel time. The bill is ridiculous. First, it shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes to determine you do not have the parts to fix a simple leaky faucet. Second, travel time was never discussed when I made the appointment. Third, you would think they would waive the travel time after showing up an hour late to an appointment without calling first. Fourth, I would think this company fixes quite a few leaky faucets, and should have the parts to fix a Kohler faucet in the truck. If not, it would be a better business practice to ask the customer the brand and make of faucet before the visit to make sure the plumber has the parts. (Of course this would deprive Douglas Orr of charging you twice for one repair). I called customer service which was a complete waste of time. The customer service rep, although nice, explained that she was not a plumber and therefore, could not justify the time stated in the bill. Further, because they had to order the parts for the repair, it would cost me $84 per hour, plus travel time, for the plumber to come back to my house to actually make the repair. To remedy the problem, customer service offered a measly 10% off the next visit. The fair outcome would be to waive the costs of the first worthless visit from the plumber. Again, do not use this company. All they care about is maximizing the amount they can charge the customer.

They were professional. They came out and they explained everything to us. I think that they were just like any other company. They did charge us for the time that the plumber was driving to our home; they charge for travel. For the repair they did, it was too expensive for what they did for us.

.We were happy we were able to get someone out on Christmas Eve. We have used this company before and have been very satisified with their performance. This time we had a gentleman by the name of Luis S. He was not happy to be out on Christmas Eve and after checking things out actually told me that he would have to get on the roof even though he did not want to. He ran the line and showed me how the toilet flushed perfectly. Never checked what would happen if the shower ran at the same time. We paid and I even tipped him because of the time of the year that it was. Next day, we realized that the minute you ran the shower, it would cause the toilet to overflow. Having other bathrooms in the house we did not feel it was an emergency so we called and left a message expecting to hear from them the day after Christmas (Friday). When we did not hear anything on Friday morning, we realized that they were closed for the holidays and left a message on their emergency line. We got a call back from someone named Alain Sanchez. He was extremely rude, would talk over you and insisted that the problems were unrelated and we would have to pay for another service call. When I insisted that it had not been resolved and I wanted the issue escalated, he said he would call back and hung up on me.. Next time he called, my husband answered and behaved the same way with my husband as he had with me. When my husband insisted he would like to speak to the Supervisor he had escalated the issue to, he hung upon my husband as well. We waited till Monday and called the office and spoke to Amanda. We explained the problem and they set us Jimmy Biondo on the same day at no charge. Jimmy was excellent and realized that the prior guy had not run the snake down the 2 stacks, only one, hence the issue. We don't have a problem with the company but will never allow Alain Sanchez and/or Luis S. ever service our needs. We strongly feel that the company should not let someone like Alain represent them. He was rude, obnoxious and totally accusatory.

Plumber arrived earlier than expected and got right to work. Repaired additional leak that he found. Everything went very smooth.Very professional company. Will definately recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. Thanks a million.

The service person arrived on time, handles the problem and cleaned up after. Very professional.

Work was performed by Andres. Very professional, especially dealing with our scary looking (but actually friendly) dog. Did a great job on both toilets, which have had no further issues. Replaced two flanges. Left everything clean. Arrived on time. Price was as quoted as an hourly rate. A bit more than what we're used to paying, but perhaps worth it for a job like this.

BE AWARE. This were slick pluming company who provides so called plumbing services by a multitude of plumbers who are encouraged to work slowly, sell parts and services that are unneeded and robbing you with a smile and pleasantries on the telephone and when the service is preformed. They send different plumbers on follow visits with each one unknowledgeable of the prior plumbers work and problem causing more time to be added to your bill. When you call the office and complain they are arrogant and have a take it or leave it policy. BE AWARE of parts that may be ordered and the pace of the repairman or you wallet will be emptied very quickly.

It went great. They found a hairpin that was backing everything up.

Their price is like everybody else. It's not cheaper or not more. Their responsiveness is A-plus. They come right away.

Although there was an original mixup of what day they were supposed to come out and help (something with their new system they said), they were very responsive and immediately worked on resolving the issue. Not only was a plumber at my house within the hour of me calling, they offered me a 10% discount on the labor and no travel expenses. I was very pleased with the plumber, Nick, who was knowledgeable and tried many different ways to see exactly what the issue was and how to save me money/time. If ever I need a plumber, I will definitely be using them.

Orr's estimator reviewed our site plan and commented on our proposed project layout, although they did not quote on the project.

The scheduling and other office staff I had contact with were very efficient and helpful. My appointment was made for two days after my call which I thought was very quick. I assumed I might have a longer wait but that was not the case. The plumber was at the house at 7:40 a.m. for an 8 a.m. appointment which was excellent for us. The plumber was not very conversant however, he was very efficient and went straight to work replacing the faucet with the new one we had already purchased. He finished the job in 45 minutes, cleaned up and left. The bill with the 10% Angie's List discount was $88.10 which we thought was a great price. Over all it was an excellent experience. I am enjoying my new faucet and would definitely recommend this plumbing service to others.

They did great work. Conscienciously done. Reasonably priced and did not interfere with my day to day living while the work was being done. Very informative and knowledgeable.

My daughter's toilet and shower were overflowing and I called a plumber who came and snaked the toilet, which cleared the sewage line. About 2 weeks later the exact same situation happened again so I called Douglas Orr since I have seen their trucks since I was a kid and have heard good reviews of them. As the day I called was a Saturday the woman at the office advised me I would be charged the overtime rate. I agreed and the "technician" arrived a few hours later. I explained to him what had occurred with the first plumber and that the same thing was happening again. He said the line was clogged and removed my daughter's toilet and snaked the line. He told me that there had been a clog about 35 feet down the line but that it had been cleared. He also showed me that the flange which the toilet sits on was not properly connected to the PVC pipe and said that I should have it replaced. I asked if it was essential to do it immediately and he said that it was ok to wait. I asked him if the faulty flange had anything to do with the clogged line and he said it did not. When he presented me the bill I saw that he had charged me for "travel time". I questioned the charge and he said it was standard. The woman in the office did not say I was going to be charged for travel time, a charge which I find ludicrous but would have paid as it was an emergency, but the fact that she failed to inform me of it was unprofessional. I paid him about $420.00 for the work and he left. Less than 2 weeks later the toilet and shower were flooding again. As a result the baseboards sustained damage. My wife called Douglas Orr and was told by a woman claiming to be the manager that there was no warranty and said that we failed to repair the flange, which might have caused the clog. She offered my wife 10% off but said that we would be charged for a plumber to respond to repair the problem. I then called another company and explained the same thing to him that I did to Douglas Orr. He cleared the clogged line (which is step 1 with any company and plumbing 101) but then went the extra mile by looking at the line with a camera and discovered the real reason behind the repeated clogging, which he repaired. I showed him the flange and asked him if it could have caused the clog. Unsurprisingly, he said it cannot cause a clog in the line. Had the Douglas Orr "technician" exercised the same due diligence I wouldn't have had a repeat of the flooding problem and wouldn't have had to replace the baseboards in the bathroom. I don't know if it was a lack of knowledge or training on the part of the "technician" or simply laziness but the lack of due diligence from a long standing company is disappointing to say the least. The manager attempting to blame us for not repairing something that had absolutely nothing to do with the clog and using it the justification for recharging us for a job that had not been performed correctly in the first place was insulting and unprofessional. One would think that a company with the longevity enjoyed by Douglas Orr would care more about pleasing their customers and treating them with respect. The silver lining in this story is we found a knowledgable plumber as a result of the disastrous experience with Douglas Orr.

Very pricey - I was given an estimate over the phone and of course the end result was over $100 more. Wish I was told before hand of the additional charges, will not use them again.

Fabulous service! The best benefit that Douglas Orr Plumbing offers is hourly work. Other quotes I received included a diagnostic fee and a fee for everything that they had to do. Having an hourly plumber is a great idea. The company had a scheduling issue at my planned time, but they kept in touch and rescheduled the appointment to fit into my schedule for later that day. Fernando was the plumber who did the work and he was excellent. Very knowledgeable and patient. He diagnosed the problem step by step. I will definitely use them again and have already referred them to several friends.

He came within in an hour and fixed the broken pipe. He was very professional and did the job quickly. He also checked on another potential leak. He was very nice and efficient.

They were very prompt. Both days we chose the first morning appointment window which meant 7 am. When my husband went to get the newspaper outside at 6:45, they were already outside waiting. Eddy and Sam were extremely neat and cleaned up everything once finished very properly. Both are excellent employees. We would definitely use them again.

The tech, Jose Gutierrez, came out because my tub had a leaky faucet. Without checking it, he said it needed new stems because he's seen this many times. He didn't have the stems on the truck so he had to go to the plumbing supply house to pick them up. Guess who paid the travel time at $98/hr. After installing it all, he said that I was going to need to replace the tub valve which was in bad shape. He said that it was normally a $1000 job but "he could do it for $700." Gee thanks. I looked it up on the internet and it seemed to be about a $400 job. Anyway, 10 days later my shower stopped water flow on the top. The lower tub would flow fine. When I told my friend about it who is a superintendent in his building, he said "let me take a look at it." In less than 5 minutes he pulled out the middle stem for water direction and found the screw completely loose on the brand new valve, so loose that it was almost ready to fall out. Funny how Jose (the tech) wrote on my invoice "No warranty on parts because the tub valve needs to be replaced." Perhaps a loose screw may have led to the work he suggested. I'd have to have a loose screw to invite this company back!
