Marty was the first to show up. He explained exactly what they would do including when they would start and how much it wold cost. Marcus arrived next on the promised date and began prepping the pool. He also explained what each day would entail. He fixed a broken tile that was not on the original price so they basically did that for free. That tells me that these guys really take pride in the quality of work that they perform. the next day they resurfaced the pool. There were at last 6 people on the job joking and laughing but the finished product was no joke. It was perfectly smooth with no blemishes. The paint job looks great too. They added the proper chemicals at the end. The pool turned out beautifully and I am very happy with all the work that was done. they also offer a service where they will come out for the next two weeks, 3 times a week and brush the side of the pool and clean the filter. They were fantastic.  I would highly recommend this company to anyone.  Their communication was outstanding as were the crews that came to work at our house.  Everyone arrived on time, kept everything neat and clean and delivered exactly what they promised.
The first day a crew came in to drain the pool, prep it and cut back the existing cement coping.  The second - fourth day,the paver crew came in and cut and placed the new coping and pavers.  At the end of the fourth day, a pool person came out to get the pool ready to refill.  He stayed until almost 7:00 pm but wanted to ensure everything was perfect and I was satisfied with the completed job. Every day, the crew that was working cleaned everything up before they left for the day.  
The new pavers look beautiful and I have been telling everyone that comes over to see the lanai that if they want pavers to use Blue Horizons.  

I called and spoke with a nice lady on the phone and told her about my problem and she went over the ways they can unglog my skimmer line and approximate costs.  They have a jet something they are able to stick down the pipe and break up small clogs.  I called a couple other companies and this was possibly the cheapest and one of the freindliest.  Kevin (I believe that was his name) called the morning he was scheduled to arrive and we set up a time.  He arrived early was friendly and efficent.  He was able to quickly unglog the pipe and also noticed my pump fittings were loose, so he replaced those (for only an extra $15), and he also cleaned out my pump.  As we waited for the glue to dry, I asked him multiple questions which he answered without hesistation and gave me some good advice too!  The pool is up and running great now!  Thank you!

My 35 year old pool was in desperate need of resurfacing and new tile.  I researched companies
on Angies List then called Blue Horizon for an estimate.  The work needed was to drain, remove tile
resurface and new tile as well as a new filter.  There was no doubt from the start. The estimate and
explanation of what would be done as well as the estimate was all done in one appointment.
The work began as scheduled on a Monday and each day a step was completed with the
hoses going in to fill it up on Friday.  Everyone associated with this company communicated what
they were doing, worked beyond any normal shifts, did impeccable work, cleaned everything and
everywhere before they left.  They are now making return visits to balance chemicals. 
 I cannot say enough about what a great experience this was with everyone associated with Blue Horizon
The pool was an embarassment and is now breathtaking.

The company that I first called to unclog a pool pipe was not able to clear the clog, after trying for about an hour, and suggested I call Blue Horizons. The first company did not charge me for their time/efforts which was good of them. I contacted Blue Horizons on 1 Feb and spoke to Rene in the office who told me the price range for clogs was $95.00-$150.00 and someone would call me on Monday to set up/confirm a time to come to the house. This morning, (4 Feb 2013) early, Kevin called and said he would be here between 1430 and 1530 hrs, which I said was fine. Approximately 1435 hrs, Kevin pulled in the driveway and came to the front door. He worked the clog out sucessfully after about 15-25 minutes. YEAH!!! and at the lower end of the cost range. Thank You Kevin!!! Job well done!!!

Spent a great deal of time showing pavers that would match, drains, etc.   We wanted to have a coating put down as opposed to pavers, so their options were not for us. 

The color of the water in the pool is not what I hoped it would be. They did do a good job however. The pavers turned out very well. The pool was fine, I just wanted it to be a little bit darker. They were right in middle with price.

Overall, if I could give Blue Horizons better than an EXCELLENT rating I would.  They worked through the unknowns and obstacles and stuck to the original price in the contract.  When resurfacing was complete there wasn't a speck of debris left anywhere.  You couldn't tell they were here.  All they left behind was a beautiful pool finish.  THESE GUYS ROCK!!!!!

our expectations, staying way over the time paid for due to our many

Wonderful. I couldn't be happier.

The pavers were delivered as promised on a Friday with the first technician showing up on Monday to drain and prep the pool for the paver crew.  Unfortunately the paver crew was unable to start that day due to weather but they arrived early on Tuesday to get started.  There was a problem when they were cutting out the existing drain in that the conduit was buried in the existing deck rather than 18 inches down so their saw cut through the conduit.  This was an added expense as the conduit was not buried to code.  Added repair for the wire conduit, wire replacement, and light replacement mentioned above was only $200 so more than fair.  The second problem was they ran out of pavers, pool deck completed but none to do the sidewalk with.  This resulted in a delay from Thursday until Monday  when the additional pavers were delivered.  Pavers were finished midday with the technician coming back to clean the pool and start the filling process.  Total down time for the pool was 9 days.  Every one was professional in their work and clean up every day for the evening.  The only negative in addition to running out of pavers was that I wish they would have communicated when the additional pavers were to be delivered.  I initially was told they would come on Friday but was never updated.

Requested an estimate via email and work was performed within 10 days of agreed price. Slightly more expensive because the prior paint work was peeling so surface required additional preparation.

I had emptied the pool before getting any estimates. Marty showed up when scheduled and gave me a written estimate of the job. He included copies of Blue Horizon's contractors liscense and proof of insurance with the estimate. He explained every step that would be done and answered all my questions on the process. When I decided to hire B.H. they made an appointment for the prep work . The gentleman showed up right on time (sorry I forgot his name) and took the better part of the day breaking in and patching the hollow areas under the old surface. (By the way another company that gave me an estimate never advised me of these hollow areas and apparently were just going to resurface over them. This would have been a disaster had they collapsed under the new surface after the pool had been refilled) He also applied the Bond Kote. No tile work was needed around the inner edge. He suggested a similar color tile to put on the steps 9only 2-4 tiles per step) so that there would not be an indentation where the old tile inserts were on the horizontal surface. A person then delivered the materials for the job, placing a pallet in the side yard near the pool. The next day a crew arrived about 7 am and began the application of the final Diamond Brite surface. They had to mix and carry the material into the pool so there was plenty of opportunity to make a mess. However when they left, you couldn't even tell they had been there. Every single bit of material was cleaned up. They were packed up and gone by the afternoon. I was told to refill the pool and the surface wouold cure with the water in it. A few days later another fellow (sorry, forgot the name again) arrived and added the proper chemicals to balance the water. He explained everything i needed to do to insure that it would turn out the best it could be. He emphasized brushing, especially the first 2 weeks.A year later my pool looks great and I couldn't be happier with the job Blue Horizon did for me. They were professional and competent on every level.

I was very satisfied with their service. They were very responsive. Originally they told me they would come out by the end of the week and when I explained my issue they came out the next day.

We found Blue Horizon through Angies and have nothing but great things to say. We used them to install a salt water chlorine generator. Every aspect of the process, from estimate to installation, was timely and professional. Both Marty and Kevin easy to deal with and very knowledgeable. Plus after installation Kevin went through a quick "pool school" overview of the entire system which was incredably helpful since we had just purchased the home and was new to pool care. Overall it was a pleasure to deal with Blue Horizon and would recommend their services.

My dealings with the company from beginning to end went very very well.  Marty, one of the owners, was on time to the minute for the estimate, and he was knowledgeable and observant and professional in every way.  He was clear in his explanations, answered all of my questions, and left me the perfect amount of printed materials so as to give enough information but not overwhelm.  After getting just one other estimate, I decided to move forward with Blue Horizons, and got on their calendar.  It was about 2 weeks later when the work began exactly as scheduled, in spite of the fact that we had had lots and lots of rain.  One of the things I love about this company was their communication.  They spoke with me every day, and called at the time they said they would.  I was kept informed of progress, and given clear instructions.  The pool was resurfaced just as it was described to me in advance, the pool light is great (our pool was built in 1993, and the light has not worked since the late 90's!) Once the work was done, it was determined that my old DE filter had some major problems (had already tried some repairs by a different company), and I decided to have it replaced.  Blue Horizons scheduled my installation for the next business day, and the new filter is great.   The various crews cleaned up very well, the new Diamond Brite surface is beautiful, and I am very pleased with the work, personnel, and company.  I can't imagine a more satisfactory experience.

I requested an online quote from numerous companies. I immediately felt comfortable with Marty Olsen of Blue Horizon. He was so knowledgeable of his job. He explained everything that would take place from beginning to end. Each crew that came in to do their part of the job were so nice and professional. Each would answer and explain any questions that I may have had. They went above and beyond their duty and I am extremely pleased with the results. My pool and deck look beautiful! I would definitely call on them for other projects and I would definitely recommend to anyone.
