I give them an A overall. They were very professional and did what I wanted them to do. Also an A (on price) because we compared them with a couple of other places that wanted to charge us more. An A across the board.

I called on a Friday and the salesman was scheduled to come out at 10:30 the next morning. He was a no show.....I called on Monday and was informed there was a new "young" person that didn't write it down in the salesman's book. The person I was talking to said that she would have a salesman out the next day, Tuesday. You can guess what happened at that point, yes, a no show again. The fun part of all of this is that I got a call from the salesman on this Saturday stating that he was on his way for our 11:00 a.m. appointment. I did not have an appointment with him, no idea why he was coming to the house. Told him my dealings with this company and that even if he showed up this time I would be very leery about this company actually showing up to do the tree trimming. I have since scheduled to have the tree trimmed by a professional tree trimmer that actually showed up for our appointment on time-on the first try.

They were a no show the first time and rescheduled again. The tree was removed, BUT the stump grinding took forever to get someone back out. Rescheduled numerous times before they finally were able to get back. Not the most punctual, BUT they did quick clean work. Would hire again, but would expect to be waiting on them...

Excellent work for a fair price.

The work was performed satisfactory and on time. My son paid quoted price of $700 but forgot to ask if he could use the 10% coupon we received off of Angies List. I called the office and the Manager agreed to honor the 10% discount. He took my CC number and said he would void the check. The check hit my bank that very night for the $700. I called the next day to the Manager and he said the owner put the check in before he had a chance to speak with him. After the manager discussed the issue with the owner, the owner refused to give the 10% discount. If the Manager had said from the beginning that they could not honor it, I could have accepted that easier than him agreeing to it only to have the owner override him. Lesson here is that the owner whether he like it or not should have supported the manager in his decision. He went through all the trouble of getting my CC number so I thought it was a completed transaction of $630. Left me being disappointed on a job otherwise went very smooth.

Terrible. Promised to show up one day ... didn't show up and no communication. Promised to come the following Tuesday. Didn't show up and no communication. I called the office and they didn't know what was going on .... Office promised to call the next morning, and didn't call. Apparently don't care about their customers ...... bad experience and really disapointed.

Horrible experience. The salesman (Travis) came to my home to give me an estimate for tree removal and stump grinding. The price was reasonable, so I hired them to come three days later. They show up the following day with the crewu unannounced. The tree removal went ok. And they explained that they would be back in a few days to grind the stumps. One week later, I had to call them to remind them and they sent someone over the following morning. He informed me he couldn't do the job because his stump grinding machine didn't fit through my backyard gate and would be back the following morning with a smaller machine. 3 days later, he shows up, unannounced, and that stump grinding machine again didn't fit through my yard gate. Aggravated, I call the main office and spoke to a rude woman who said that she didn't understand why Travis (the salesman) didn't mention to me that their stump grinding machines wouldn't fit through my yard gate. I told her I paid to have the stumps grinded, and I wanted someone here ASAP as this was delaying the other projects I have planned for my backyard. The following day, the guy shows up with a tractor that is able to enter my backyard. He got one stump grinded, and the other one halfway completed. His excuse was the machine wasn't operating properly, and he would be return ASAP to complete the job. 3 weeks after Sun State removed my trees, I still have a stump in my backyard that has not been grinded. I have called the main office to ask to speak to the owner and have been given the runaround, and no return phone calls. I just called today, 5/18, and left another message for the owner. At this point, I do not want to deal with this company any longer. I just want them to refund what I paid for stump grinding. If I do not hear back, I will be contacting Todd Ulrich from ACTION 9 . These people are dishonest, unprofessional, and unreliable. Think before hiring them to do any job.

ok but they damaged neighbors fence slightly and my front sprinkler they layed large logs on.I repaired both.Sale person did not seem concerned about fence.They also left garbage around stump,drink bottles,skol tobacco container.

I went out to Angie's list and called several companies. Rick at Sun State was prompt in getting back with me and came out to give me a quote same day. Others either never got back with me or got back with me a few days later. The quote was very reasonable and gave him the work. He also offered to trim my three queen palm trees in front of my house for same price. I asked him if he would cut and remove my cement sidewalk so that when they grind the roots they could get under the sidewalk. He offered to do that as well all for the same price. Workers came out within a few days and did a great job removing my big tree. They had a crew of about 6 people. I was concerned with my neighbors house but none of the limbs fell on either house as they tied a rope to bring down the big branches. They are also insured. They were done within 4 hours. Removed 4 trees, trimmed the palms, blew off the sawdust off my roof and cleaned up the area. After all the tress were removed within a day they removed my sidewalk and the stump grinder came out and removed the stump and removed all the roots. They did destroy plumbing on two zones on my sprinkler system by cutting up the pipes but that was to be expected as there was no way around that and I just easily replaced them myself. They did sent out their lawn service but I wanted to handle this myself as it was easy plus I wanted to do some other things. Then a few days later they came back out and put my sidewalk back in place. This all took about 10 days as I wanted some time to fix my sprinkler system and when I was done they came back out to put the sidewalk back. I coordinated all this with Rick via text messaging. Rick is very responsive and that was key for me as coordinating all the teams takes work on his part. Use these guys and you will be happy.

The climber was amazing. The crew was efficient and cleaned up nicely.

Our experience with Sun State was fantastic.

Very pleased with "A Sun State Trees, Inc" (Longwood FL) because: 1) Best price quote out of 4 Angie's List tree companies I called; 2) Arrived within 15 mins of est. start time; 3) Six-man crew was courteous & professional. They removed two humongous trees in my backyard. Because of narrow side yard, they had to manually haul away all the branches to a wood chipper out front; 4) No damage to screened patio or A/C unit in side yard; 5) They cleaned up debris & used a leaf-blower; 6) Because it was end of day (5pm), they left 33 stumps (2-3 feet) at curbside, but promised to return within 72 hours to remove. A bobcat with claws actually arrived at 10am the very next morning to remove the stumps. Outstanding service! Would gladly hire again.

It went great. The tree was removed, in a single day, just a few days after we contracted for its removal. The crew did an outstanding job that involved removing large limbs that overhung the neighbor's house, power lines and our fence, not to mention a massive trunk. Nothing was damaged, they knew what they were doing and did it all in about 8 hours using up to 12 people during part of the operation in order to finish the same day. They were immaculately clean, cleaned-up the yard, blew-off trash from the top of the house and cleaned-up the road where the chipper was used. Removed the stump a week later, excellent job. All of the people we dealt with were very friendly and professional, very pleasant to work with. The price was certainly fair and reasonable for the large amount of labor and equipment involved to do the job. This is the 4th time we've used A Sun State Trees for tree removal over the past 10 years so it goes without saying that we are very satisfied with their work.

The salesman is smooth so I hired them during his visit. The salesman mentioned that he would give the cutters a walkthrough. Don't think that happened and the communication was choppy during the day of the service ( I don't live at the house yet). Regardless, I was satisfied. The cutters will cut as much as they deem necessary and do not complain if asked to cut more. $1300 was quite a bit but they trimmed 6 trees, raising the canopy from roof on 4 of them. My neighbors also requested their services.

Awesome!!! The only time I was upset was when I thought we had arranged for first thing in the morning arrival. When I called to confirm, I was advised they had one job ahead. As I needed to be at my wife's fund raiser for a local non-profit around 4 pm, I began getting nervous around 1:00 when the team was not there. I called the office, again, and Carol kept in contact with me, assured me I did not need to be there through completion and arranged fro me to call next day for payment. The team arrived around 2:15 and by 3:30 they were about done!!!! It was like a team of "Edward Scissorhands" descended on my property. They were extremely professional, efficient, cleaned everything up. The topiaries could have used a little more TLC but that was on me and my expectations. Everything else was above and beyond. Sorry about the bougainvillea everyone!!!! I wold definitely recommend Sun State and will be using them again. The Firewood was delivered a day earlier than expected, but that may have been my fault. Either way, Carol arranged all the details with the delivery person and again, I did not need to be there. Awesome job with stacking it! and can't beat the price

I was given a quote on 9/27. I agreed to the price and was promised the job would be completed the next day. No one ever showed up. When I inquired into it further I was told the issue would be looked into, and I never heard back. A few days later I cancelled the request and hired a competitor that will actually behave professionally.

They did an awesome job, all around the house, thinning the large tree and clearing out the extremely high branches over my pool enclosure. They removed some trees entirely. Travis gave me an estimate on 9/17 and a team of 6 people came out on 9/23 and did the job in about 4 hours. They removed all the debris and did a great job cleaning up and even removed an additional huge stack of branches that I had been accumulating over the years. The amount of work they did was amazing and in some cases they had to do some serious climbing. The picture I included would make a stronger impression if I had a before picture, but you can get an idea of the height of the trees in question. Professional, Punctual, thorough - awesome job!
