I pre-purchased two dozen Virginia roses for my wife as a Valentine?s Day gift from ?A Little Shop of Flowers? the morning of 2/4/2013. The man that assisted me was pleasant & friendly. He stated and my receipt stated that the roses would be delivered by 11:00 AM on 2/14/2013. On Valentine?s Day I waited for the call from my wife but it did not come. Around 12:30 PM I decided to call the florist. A lady answered and I explained that my wife's roses had not been delivered as expected. She replied that they have a paper system and she didn't have an answer. She asked for my name, my wife's name and the delivery address. I gave her my name, my wife's name and the deliver area but not the address as it was on my cell phone on which I was talking. She wouldn't do anything without the exact street address so I said I would call back. I looked up the address but instead of calling back, I left work and drove to the florist to ask first hand. I arrived at the florist and stated that I had ordered flowers that were to be delivered by 11:00 AM and when I called, the lady that answered did not have an answer. A differient lady that approached me to discuss the situation told me that the lady that answered the phone told her I wouldn't give her any information. Not true! The lady helping me said she would check. She came back with tightly wrapped rose buds that she said were mine and that because they were special roses it takes longer for them to arrive and these arrived late. Just this morning she said. I showed her my receipt and the day I ordered the roses said that the florist had plenty of time to order the roses. According to the man who took my order, he said the roses arrive as early as the Friday before Valentine?s Day. I asked her multiple times when they would be delivered and she finally responded in 25 minutes. Two hours later my wife received the flowers which she really liked. In closing, I believe that this florist provides good flowers but they do not have a system to manage the work flow. It appears that when they get busy it exceeds their capacity to manage their work. I?m surprised that they do not have a software package to track customers? orders. I will never use this florist again - 35% late delivery & 65% how they dealt with the situation. I?m now looking for a new local florist in the Longwood or Altamonte Springs area. Any suggestions?
