Description of Work: We have an 18 year old Ford truck that needed a lot of work. New shocks, breaks, struts, rocker arms, ball joints, tires, battery. It took about a week, every thing was completed in the stated time, the truck runs great. Good to have it working again.

Description of Work: they found the problem with my 99 ford ranger, but getting the parts took half a day plus. the first parts house brought out the wrong parts, as did the second and the third parts house. finally the last parts house brought parts that would fit. My father (age 91) sat in the not very clean waiting area from 9am till after 2pm. | |I think the mechanic who worked on the truck was competent, but the person ordering the parts lacked much. I have taken my car and truck to several other garages in the Live Oak area. i have received the best service at Furst Automotive in Live Oak.

They were not able to get the brake service light to go out. They used a ball-peen hammer to try to force the light to go out by beating on the sensor. I could not believe that he did this.
Description of Work: They put a brake caliper on my truck.

 + -1 moreI guess they are cooperative with the local & state police so it was convienient for me that I did not have to deal with the paying of fees for towing & storage. They dealt with my insurance company directly so I have no idea if their fees were reasonable or not. All I know is they were not helpful nor sympathetic to my husband when he discovered the theft of our tag. Atleast they put a tarp over the vehicle when it initially came to their lot.
Description of Work: Our totaled vehicle was towed to their lot after a serious accident. Altho we did get access to the vehicle to get possessions out immediately after (a few days later)after the accident when we went back a couple months later to get our tag it was missing. This makes me wonder how secure their lot was. even tho it was a wrecked vehicle it was supposed to be safe & only we were to have access to it. They claimed the tag was removed before it came to their lot but I know this is untrue because I have photos that I took when getting my possessions on their premises & the tags was there then. Not sure about their services but I was not impressed with their honesty in my case. They were not helpful in trying to remove a trailer hitch from the vehicle either even tho I paid the man $20 just to try. Not sure if I would use them for auto services unless I had to because your choices are limited in Live OAK

 + 0 moreWOW, called them for a jump start and it was a very reasonable price... $50... they showed up very promptly to help out... when the jump start didn't work they offered a tow at a discounted price of $35... WOW... thanks guys!!

 + 0 moreI brought my vehicle in because of a water leak. I was told that there was a leak between the water pump and the block. The gasket was leaking. I was told it was best to replace the water pump and hoses because they were not in good shape. I was quoted a price of $325.00. I authorized that repair. When they called to tell me my truck was finished the price came to appox. $350.00. I inquired why I did not get the price I was quoted. They informed me that they replaced the serpentine belt because it was cracked and if the belt broke, it would have destroyed the water pump. I know this to be true because I was told that on other vehicles I have owned. Automotive services always replace the water pump if the serpentine belt is bad and replace the serpentine belt if the water pump is bad. It is way to costly to do each separately. They were timely in getting my vehicle done and the employees were cordial. I have had work there one other time and had no problems either. I would recommend this shop to others. Their shop is not cheap, but I believe they are no higher then any place else around and they have given me no reason to mistrust them
