We live on a multifamily lake which over the years has become more weed infested blocking our shore line views and the shore birds visiting. This last winter I spearheaded a project to get as many homeowners as possible to participate in a lake clean-up. I investigated a number of firms that do this type of work and really liked what I learned about PWC. I also was very impressed with the owner, Clay Bell. I did a lot of the one-on-one sales to my neighbors and then Clay came with me to give each homeowner a personal bid & contract. This project required a permit from the State of Florida and Clay helped me with all the technical data. Once we had the contracts signed and the permit approved, PWC began the project by coming out to spray an approved aquatic herbicide. They did this twice a few weeks apart. Once all the weeds were dead they came in with a crew and lots of machinery to cut out, pile up and remove the weeds from the lake. This dead stuff was hauled away. The next phase involved sending men out into the water to hand groom the area. They removed any stray floating debris and hand cut any weeds still in or under the waterline. They did this 2-3 times per lot. Finally they are coming back in a month to spray and hand groom again to make sure they didn't miss anything. PWC has also offered us a very reasonable on-going maintenance program which a number of us are subscribing too. Because I did a lot of the contact & sales work, Clay gave us a large discount. Most of the homeowners who lots were as weed covered as our paid around $1,500 for 100+ feet of shoreline cleanup. There where many other homeowners that paid widely different amounts based on the length of their shoreline and how bad the weeds were on their lot. We initially started with 9 family's participating, but as the work progressed more jumped in. These families did not have the opportunity to have the weeds killed by herbicide first, so they will need the maintenance to keep the weeds at bay. We actually ended up with about 19 lots cleaned up. It is like a different and much more beautiful lake now. I can't say enough good things about PWC. Clay Bell was always polite, professional, helpful and timely, as was every member of his crew. The only (small) problem that occurred was a mechanical failure on one of the dredges that required about a week delay in doing the weed removal phase, but we were all kept informed and so this was really a non-issue. My favorite part is that when I started this I assumed that at some point at least one of my neighbors would be unhappy with something about this project and berate me for it. It never happened. Everyone that has talked to me about the work done has been VERY HAPPY. I consider this something of a happy miracle, but actually speaks to how good of a job PWC has done. All I can say is that if you need lake cleanup CALL them.
Description of Work: PWC sprayed our lake weeds twice and then when they were dead came in and cut out all the dead weeds and removed them from the lake.
