Dunstan & Son Plumbing Co Inc
About us
Since our humble beginnings as the “Little Plumber" back in 1922, Dunstan & Son Plumbing Company has maintained a singular mission to bring dependable, friendly, professional-grade service to Lake and Sumter counties’ cities and towns, including The Villages, Plantation, Highland Lakes, Royal Highlands and so many others. When the Dunstans retired, they entrusted their namesake business to established local plumber John Snyder, knowing he would continue the company’s long-standing reputation of honest, outstanding service. Though the company’s workforce has grown to more than 20 employees, Dunstan & Son still has the feel of the neighborhood business it was in its beginnings. During business hours, you will always reach a caring person when you call – never an automated routing system. And because we’re local, we understand the particular plumbing demands of Central Florida homes and buildings – and their owners. To ensure that we keep our flawless record with both the Better Business Bureau and our customers, each and every employee, from our plumbers and customer service reps to our administrative staff, undergoes a rigorous background check and is regularly drug-screened in accordance with our zero tolerance policy. Whether a Dunstan & Son employee is in your home or helping you in the showroom, you can trust them to provide exceptional assistance every time. No subs. Cost is determined by the job. Great product, service, and price.
I called to explain the problem and they scheduled an appointment for the next day. There was a broken part in our faucet that they unfortunately did not have the part to, but ordered it for us. We left for vacation so it was scheduled right away when we got back. They only charged for the original service call plus the part. Both employees that came out, plus anyone we came in contact with at their office was extremely helpful and professional. We will definitely use Dunstan and Son Plumbing in the future.
Dunstan and Sons has a lot going for them: their technicians are professionals and conduct themselves as such. They are on time, polite, efficient, and knowledgeable; the front office is always amazingly courteous and professional as well; and, most important, they schedule your service very quickly, often the same or next day. If it's a big job they stick by the time and date originally scheduled.
I was referred to Dunstan by my realtor, Steven Simpkins (an exceptional area professional), but did further research on AngiesList before calling the company. It's nice to know that in our new community we have Dunstan for all our plumbing needs. Whether a big or small job, we know Dunstan is only a phone call away.
"At Dunstan & Son Plumbing, we pride ourselves on professionalism and do our best to ensure our customers are treated fairly and are satisfied with the work we perform. We were initially called on the weekend of July 1st, 2013, and inspected the bad lift station pump at the customer's home. We returned the following Monday to replace the pump at an agreed price of $675. Due to our company not being licensed for electrical work, an extension cord was used and the customer was told that they needed to contact an electrician to supply proper power to the lift station. Without the cord, the pump would not work. On August 30th, we received partial payment. Our company returned on September 10th when called that the pump was not working. The pump had been clogged from plastic and wipes that were flushed from the home, and once pulled and cleaned, we reinstalled it. This trip accounted for the second bill. Only one pump was ever installed. After several unanswered calls, we were finally able to contact the customer on January 10th, 2014, and agreed on $350 to pay off the remaining $525 bill on her account. We returned on September 2nd, 2014, to repair a leak under the slab of her home and again reminded that an electrician was needed. Dunstan & Son Plumbing, without doubt, has done this job correctly. We will refund the $650 we received for the pump, only deducting the recent service call for the slab leak we repaired. Thank you Angie's List for letting us respond and to the customers who have taken the time to read this."
