About us

We are a family run locksmith business with my husband being the exceptional locksmith and me handling the shop. We are trustworthy and prompt with our appointments. We are the only local locksmith co. that always offers free delivery on all our safes locally and we serve the Pinellas county area but have went to Pasco and Hillsborough for some of our customers too. We do not charge an hourly wage with a service charge like some locksmiths and our service charge is normally incorporated into the work we are doing. Most of our customers are return customers and word of mouth new customers. We are constantly recommended by our former or regular customers. People just love how conscientous the locksmith is with his work. Some have called in to say how nice and friendy and efficient he is. We were formerly on West Bay Dr. for years but they sold the building our business was in so we are approx. one mile east of our former shop before you get to Highland heading east. We are on the north side of the road in a plaza called Royal Plaza. Come on in and see us! We are proud of our shop and people have, many times, said they had never been in such a clean, well organized locksmith shop! We also have a great record of making keys that actually work! lol Oh yes, we also have a copy machine where you can make single or double sided sheets for 4 cents a copy. It is not color though. But,come on, what can you get for 4 cents these days? Anyway, for the best locksmith and service ever call us here at Suncoast Security, Inc. Found Suncoast Security on Angie's List. The house was just purchased and needed all the locks changed and two new locks were added. Ed did a very good job and was very professional.  I had asked him about the Billy Button locks that he can put on sliding glass doors and he explained how they work, etc. A few weeks later I decided I wanted the front door to have a different type of lock and I wanted the Billy Button locks put on the sliding glass doors. Ed came out again and installed the new locks (cost $210). I was very happy I found Suncoast Security on Angie's List. I would definitely use them again.

Called Suncoast Security because of excellent reviews on Angie's List. Called on Saturday shortly before closing hours. Left message that I wanted to upgrade locks on my home. My call was returned later that afternoon and I was told they'd call me Monday to schedule. They did call Monday as promised and we scheduled to have a technician come out on Wednesday morning.

Ed arrived exactly on time and walked patiently around the house with me as I told him what I wanted to have done to improve security and convenience with respect to door locks. He gave valuable advice and did not try to sell me products that I did not need. For instance, I was interested in "bump-proof" locks. Ed said that several of my locks already had bump-resistant features which should be enough, but said I could upgrade to a high-security lock if I wanted to. I chose to remain within a reasonable price range.

Ed also gave me valuable advice about securing a garage door and a jalousie door.

His bid was acceptable to me and he said he could do the work immediately. He worked for about two-and-a-half hours and completed the work. Then at my request he freed up a stiff interior door lock to work better.

Now all of my doors are protected with deadbolts and every exterior door opens with the same key, which is a major convenience.

We are very happy with Ed and Suncoast Security and will gladly call them again.

.I stopped by the shop on my way home from work to get an estimate for the services we needed for my mother-in-law.. I was able to schedule the service for the next day, and they worked around my schedule so I could be there when the work was done. The locksmith arrived promptly and was extremely helpful and professional. He did everything we asked and made 3 keys for us. I would definitely use their services again.

The service man showed up promptly - I've forgotten his name - and was very professional and courteous.  He explained that the fence locks were frozen because they had never been used, apparently (I just recently bought this house).  I was very happy with the service and would recommend them.

Previous owner of home I purchased used this company to installed new locks on doors in 2008.  The receipt for the 2008 purchase was left with the home paperwork.  I contacted this company at 0830 on 9/14/2011 and requested an appointment to have 5 locks rekeyed for security reasons.  They had a same day appointment between 1-3pm so I took it.  The owner (man) showed up promptly at 1pm and went to work.  He worked approximately 90 minutes and the 5 locks were rekeyed and I was provided 2 keys.  The receipt shows $74.95 (trip charge, first lock rekeyed, 2 keys) and $18.00/ea for 4 locks ($72.00). The gentleman providing the service was extremely professional and obviously knew his profession well.  I hold not reservation recommending this company or using the in the future.  Thank you Suncoast Security!!!

Ed came out  on time for a free estimate.I provided a doorknob set which he used and only charged me for the labor. He was very courteous,took the time to answer all my questions,and kept a neat work area.It took him about an hour to complete the job. His motto is "do the job right the first time,"and he sure lives up to that. I would highly recommend his services for any small or large job.

I was able to set up the entire appointment via email - this is a HUGE plus for me. I sent the same query to a number of Angie's List providers - "Can you repair an old Baldwin lock"?  I got two responses. One guy said he would be willing to take a look...ummm.....no. Suncoast said they had experience with Baldwin lcoks, and have a great Baldwin supplier - she was willing to answer several questions and was extremely responsive. I felt like they were worth a shot.  Ed had me, honestly, when he got out of his vehicle, and said he couldn't find the house number, but knew he was in the right place when he saw the Baldwin lock on the front door (from the street, while moving!)  It was obvious he knew what he was doing - from the beginning, as he worked the mechanism, and started to take it apart, and worked on it, and put it back together! Just - very competent! He also explained to us what he was doing, and what was wrong, and what he did about it.  He also said he was willing to travel farther for an Angie's List customer - how great is that?  Ed is a "keeper" - I will use him again, and recommend him highly.

I have been using Suncoast Security for over 5 years. I found out about them from a knowledgeable and skilled construction specialist who told me that "They are the best in the area" and "Don't bother going anywhere else." He was right. Gail, who manages the office, makes keys and handles customer service is always friendly and professional. I also have had dozens of duplicate keys made there for our home and rental properties. Every key has worked as good as the original. I have had duplicate keys made at building supply mega-stores and hardware stores and have sometimes regretted it. What good is a key that doesn't work? Taking keys back that don't work costs time and money...and it's a headache. Ed, the locksmith is very skilled and reliable. It's obvious that he takes pride in his work. When we need a service call, Suncoast Security has been responsive, prompt and efficient. Suncost Security has hard-to-find and and unusual security devices. When we bought a home that came with some unusual patio door locks and tried finding replacement parts and locks, I searched big building supply stores, hardware stores and window and door stores. No one knew anything about them. Our patio door locks were easy to use and very secure and we wanted to match them. After giving up looking for them, I happened to notice them on display at Suncoast Security. I should have gone there first! Great company. Great people. Great service. Yes, I will use their services again.

Wonderful family company. I called up on Monday moring, a very nice, friendly helpful lady answered, set up an appt. for Wed. morning. The locksmith arrived, right on time. Very friendly, and professional. The work was done very quickly, and skillfully. Everything works perfectly, and smoothy. Great job, nice people. Great value. I will always use them in the future.
