Imaginative US

A few years ago while I was a Seabee in the United States Navy, I had the pleasure of being stationed in the beautiful Sigonella, Sicily. It was an enriching journey in my life that made me grow into a cultured individual and experience what most people never have. While on this journey I worked with an older Italian man named Palo, a master woodworker that could simply look at a piece of wood and turn it into a masterpiece that seemed impossible to construct. While watching Palo work you could see the passion and the level of standards he instilled into his work, not accepting anything other than perfection. Eventually Palo saw me watching, learning, mimicking his work the best I could and took me under his wing, becoming his apprentice. He taught me everything he could and would not accept any of my work until I perfected the task given to me. Four short years later it was time for me to leave the island of Sicily, the place that has become a home to me. When I left and made it back to the United States I started working for a place that built beautiful custom cabinets for luxurious homes, and even motor homes. It was not the same as working with Palo though. Everything was rushed, there was no passion, no heart involved, so after a year, I left. Wondering where I was going to work my wife suggested making my own company, so taking all of my savings, that is what I did. I wanted to create a company that could share the excitement of handcrafted work with the customer. I wanted the customer to help design what they envision so they can feel the same sense of accomplishment and love for the product that I do. So I created Imaginative US.
