A & S Appliance Repair

I contacted Art from the reviews off Angie's List.  He said that we were a little outside his normal area, but to give him a call and he would help figure out what was wrong.  He returned emails quickly and was upfront that we were not in his area but he would still try to help! 
Called yesterday and away we went, after a little confusion on my part, bad electrical diagram reading skills, i sent a email to him of the diagram I was looking at.  A few minutes later he called me back and said "see the thermal limiter on the white wire?  Thats your problem."  It was, needed to get a new thermal limiter.  I am putting it back together and it is all good.  Great customer service, fast replies and a nice guy!
My only disappointment, is that he does not come out to where I live!!  I would have him service any of my appliances!

Art called to say he could be early.  He showed up on time, fixed the refrigerator which had been leaking pretty bad and told us to call if we had any other problems.

We were very happy with the timely service and the quality.  Would definitely recommend him to others.

Great service, they had the parts I needed with them and fixed it in one visit.

Called on Monday morning he was at the house within an hour.  Came back on Tuesday with the replacement part.

They were great. The guy that came out was very friendly, he explained everything to her so my wife would understand what was going on, and what he was doing. I was not here when he came out, but my wife was. There was something that he was missing, and so he needed to come back, and he was supposed to charge extra for the part, but because he couldn't fix it the first time he was on the site, he didn't charge us for it. He was friendly, very communicative, and very professional.

Emailed thru Angie's list on10/19/13. Response 10/20/13. Appt was set up on 10/21/13. Son of contractor came out because the owner was unavailable. Had to take my freezer apart to get to area that needed work. It seemed very difficult work. Had a $40.00
coupon for service call. Was not charged any more. A day or two later the problem occurred again.....so I decided to use a different
provider.

Art came out and checked the washing machine and figured out it was a problem with the transmission. He called me later with an estimate and we set up a time to install the new transmission. Art installed the transmission in no time. Art is extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He calls to remind you about the appointment and calls on the day of the appointment when he is on the way. The only negative is that he has a booming business and tries to get as many people scheduled in a day as possible which does cause him to run late. Art's knowledge and skills is worth the extra wait time.

Dishwasher was leaking, but not obvious from where. Tech came out and did at least 30-45 minutes of diagnostics, but was unable to see/find leak, even after a couple of cycles. Decided to go with an older service notice and replaced the door seal, which has seemed to stop any leaks.
No charge - under warranty. Very professional, apologetic about having to "guess" on the final fix, but he stated he was fairly sure that was the problem. Still checked everything else BEFORE the simple fix, just to make sure.
 

Art Freeman is very efficient and knowledgable. The parts I need for my fridge were discontinued, but he directed me to a place the refurbished the control module. When I go the part back, he installed and serviced the fridge and it works as good as new. He also replaced a control module on my washer. He had an extra part I didn't need and was honest and returned it. Overall I highly recommend his company for service on any appliance.

I left a message Sunday saying that my dryer had stopped heating, and told him the troubleshooting that I did. He called on Monday morning and said he would be atthe house between 2-4. He arrived @ 1:15 fixed the dryer and was done by 2. Polite and professional.

Art was professional and performed the service. He explained everything to me. Highly recommended and will use his service in the future if needed.

When I called he was able to come out within a few days. He was very congenial and showed up when he was supposed to. I would use him again in the future.

The man who answered for A and S told me they do  not perform that service -- what I had heard elsewhere -- but then explained they do not have the dollies and such to do it.  Then he realized I was without a washer and dryer and said he would work it into the schedule.  It ended up that my son did the installation, but I was very impressed with the caring attitude of A and S.  Not just financial gain but actual service.

It went very well. I did not realize I had a problem until 4:30pm. I look on you list and found this company, called
the phone number and he actually picked up. He was on the road, asked me a few questions and said he
would be by that night. He was and the job was finished by 6:00pm. I will definetly use him again. I was able
to save all my food.

The initial visit went well.  Art determined the dryer needed new shock absorbers.  He stated that it would be a couple of days, which I thought was ambitious since he had to order them.  Nearly two weeks or so went by and I finally called, as well as emailing to ask about the parts.  He called back and admitted he had forgot about me and didn't seem to remember me at first.
He replaced the three shock absorbers and the dryer seems to be Ok.  My main issue was the costs involved.  After reading about other members who paid 175.00 and 226.00 for the same exact work,  now I am curious as to why I was charged a total of 315.65 for the same work?????

The provider was very quick and reasonable, the fan motor and filter alone,  cost almost 125 dollars, if we had bought them online, I checked this out before he came and he charged a total of 170 for the whole job..  I had food starting to defrost and he was a lifesaver.  Fridge works great now.  Very impressed, even though he was busy, he still rushed out to help me quickly got the fridge working, without waiting to order parts, he just figured out the problem from our phone conversation.  He replaced the fan motor with a better motor that would not give me issues in the future; I will use him again with all of our appliances.

He worked on my washing machine. Nice guy almost too nice, he wants to chat and chat and chat.||The is the second time where the vendor didn't contact me after I bought the service both times the vendor blamed Angie's List. ||That initial contact issue may be Angie's fault but after that I had a lot of trouble getting him to remember me. Every time I would follow up with him about the status of the work or if a part had come it he would act like he had forgot about me. ||I bought the service in August and it wasn't resolved until December!||If I hadn't bought and paid for this I would have called someone else but I feel tied into the purchase. Angie's List has one more chance in my book. So far I'm REALLY not impressed.

Discussed problem with Art over the phone and he determined a part needed to be replaced.  He ordered the part and then make an appointment to come to the house.  He repaired the clothes washer.  I mentioned to Art that the ice dispenser had not worked in a number of years.  He checked it out an within 20 minutes has it operating again.  Other repairmen had said I needed to replace the entire door of the frig.  Will definitely use Art for all future appliance repairs.
