I purchased 4 ton Lennox AC unit in October 2016. This was the brand Costco sponsors for HVAC. I trust Costco. What a mistake. Within 6 months the coil leaked and needed replacing. The fan motor was defective on the outside unit (XC20-048). Now the air blower is defective (11-15-2019). I spent $9000 on this 4 ton AC and I am so disappointed. I wish I had never bought anything from Lennox. I have over $1200 in repair costs so far. I will never buy Lennox again. Service has been horrible. Parts not in stock and I wait 2-5 days to get parts. I live in Palm Beach County in Florida. Having my home as hot as outside is no fun. I can not recommend the Lennox brand. Even the service technicians say this is more defective than other brands.

POOR PRODUCT, MORE TIMES OUR HOME IS HOT INSTEAD OF COLD, TERRIBLE REPAIR MEN, LACK OF KNOWLEDGE, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SCHEDULING DEPARTMENT, SPEND MORE TIME IN A HOT HOME THAN A COOL HOME AFTER 20000. THEY KEEP REMINDING US THERE IS N O LEMON LAW! THIS IS THE INDUSTRY. TOUGH. MY FAMILY SPENDS NIGHTS SWEATING IN BED OR SLEEPING ON SOFAS DOWNSTAIRS. WORST COMPANY AND PRODUCTS EVER OWNING HOMES.

Their very responsive, very reasonable, we really really like them. They will make sure that they get someone to you soon as you can and if you are in a situation they will get someone out to the same day which down here is huge especially in the summer.

After calling several companies, Denny/Costco had the best price. I appreciated that the salesman "undersold" me. He explained that for a home my size, I did not need a more expensive unit with variable speeds. Kevan and Wilson arrived on time at 9:00 a.m. and quietly spent the first half hour looking over the layout of my house and making a plan for their day. It was interesting to watch how well they planned and how well they worked together. They planned to be finished by 1:30, but the job ran longer than they expected. At about 2:30, I noticed Kevan sweeping the floors. After a few minutes of paperwork and my grateful thanks, they left my house about 3:00 p.m. I cannot recommend the Costco/Stephen K. Denny experience more highly.

Hired for yearly maintenance and paid for 2 UV bulbs to be replaced. Called to tell them that the UV lights had gone out after under a year (UV lights last approximately 2 years). I was treated very poorly and had to argue that I did not want to pay the service fee again for them to check the lights, which were obviously not working. They ended up replacing the lights but they treated me very unprofessionally on the phone.
It is hard to trust people with your home and sad that is so difficult to find companies that provide quality work and do the right thing.

I needed to replace a 5-ton (60,000 BTU) central A/C unit when my 15 year-old unit stopped working.  I contacted several companies for proposals; Stephen K Denny was the first to respond, and I had an estimator on site within three hours (note: all four of the companies I called were able to send someone the same day, but Denny came first).  Based on my interaction with the estimator (M.B.), I thought I had found a real gem of a company; in fact, the only reason I am not giving this company the absolute lowest possible rating is because of the professionalism of the estimator.  She took her time, explained all the options to me, answered all of my questions capably and professionally, and gave me an excellent price on a Lennox unit (no small part of which was a rebate by both the manufacturer and the local power company).  Note that I am NOT reviewing the system itself here, which I like a lot (although after only four weeks, I have yet to see how much affect it will actually have on my electric bill), just the contractor that installed it.  The estimator also arranged emergency next day installation, which was awesome because it was August in south Florida.  Up to the point of signing on the dotted line, as I said, I thought that I had found a great company.
Unfortunately, the rest of the process ranged from not so good to lousy.  In no particular order:
1) the metal strapping used to secure the old compressor to the concrete slab, instead of being removed (simple removal of screws), was just bent back to allow new strapping to be installed, leaving very dangerous, sharp metal edges exposed at ankle level;
2) lots of debris was left laying around the compressor, such pieces of copper tubing, wire nuts, insulation, pieces of sheet metal, screws, etc.;
3) the installers were apparently unable to run the power wire inside the wall (as was the case with the previous unit, which was also a replacement), and told me they would have to run the wire down the outside of the wall.  I wasn?t happy about this, but agreed.  They stopped the conduit halfway down the wall, duct taped (!) the wire to the side of a junction box (which I told them was not functional and was being removed), and then used cable ties to strap it to the copper return pipe.  So I?ve got conduit running halfway down a wall, and then an insulated wire running along the ground until it reaches the slab, where it is strapped to the tubing.  Again, it?s dangerous, and eventually the will be broken or damaged when I am cleaning leaves, painting, etc., back there, leaving me with the cost of the repairs and the inconvenience, if I?m lucky enough not to trip and fall or be electrocuted;
4) to make matters worse, the compressor was positioned so that the entry of wiring and tubing into the unit was on the outside corner (opposite the wall), making them even more exposed, dangerous, and susceptible to damage.  They tell me that that is a code requirement; I am doubtful, but even so, the layout could have been done in such a way as to minimize how much the wire and tubing stick out from the unit.  Instead, very hastily done;
5) apparently, it was too much trouble to actually help me to program the thermostat, so I was just shown how to get to the programming page so I could do it myself later.  I have not been able to get the thermostat to do what the manual says it will do, but have had no help from the contractor (more on that below);
6) after three weeks, I still had not heard from the company about the appointment for the county code inspection and final ?quality audit,? so I called them to schedule it.  After we selected the date, I was told that they would contact me by phone between 830 and 900 in the morning on that day, to be told what time the inspector and QC auditor would show up.  I was not very happy about this either, but OK.  No phone call, no inspector, no QC auditor, not between 830 and 900, or any other time that day.  The QC auditor did show up the next day, unannounced, as I was leaving for work; sadly, a day late, and on a day when my calendar at work had been blocked off for months for a long video conference call.  I know I didn?t make a mistake on the date, because my calendar was blocked off, and because I don?t make those kinds of mistakes with my calendar, simply because I can?t afford to.  Sadly, Stephen K Denny Company apparently can afford to be more frivolous with other peoples? time;
7) when I called to make the inspection appointment, I asked for help with programming the thermostat.  I was told that someone would call me back.  No one did.
Because the original estimator gave me her card with her mobile number, and encouraged me to call if there were any problems, I did.  She came back out, saw all these problems, took photographs, and said that it would be taken care of.  Sadly, not.  Overall, I was very disappointed with this company, and I could not recommend them to anyone.  I am very glad that we live in a time when this kind of sloppy and amateurish work can be exposed through online reviews, and I encourage you to stay away.  Caveat emptor!

Decided to try and go through Costco for a new AC system. For my area, Stephen K. Denny, Inc. was the provided AC contractor. I think Costco should re-think this AC service provider. Can?t imagine if they can?t even provide an estimate how would they do if you purchase an AC from them.

Stephen K Kenny bent over backwards to install a new A/C system in our new home as soon as we closed.  Their installers were very professional.  They waited around for the Wellington inspector who finally showed up.  There was only one change that needed to be made and they did that on the spot.  They very patiently helped us with the programming of our system.  I have referred them to friends and would use them again but hope not to move again in the near future!
