Woodsman Kitchens and Floors

My builder used this company to install my countertops. I paid $2584.00 to upgrade from Granite to Quartz. When I moved in the countertops were a mess. This was on the builder. After being replaced they were scared and scuffed. It took 3 months for the third replacement of these countertops. They are still scratched and scuffed as if I had them for years. The seam where put together is uneven. A guy named Ryan came out and agreed they were unsatisfactory and said that he didn’t need to take pictures that it would be handled. I get an email today stating they would not be replacing or fixing my countertops. I understand I went through a builder for these countertops but it’s not the builders fault they can no be installed to the customer satisfaction. Countertops are a big investment and should look like new when installed. I paid a lot for my home and I should be treated as a valued customer no matter what. I’m very unsatisfied with the customer service I have received. Beware of this buyer and the brand MSI quartz.

Woodsman uses sub-contractors for their installations. The sub-contractor for our job did not have the available tools and our 1/4 round molding was cracked in at least a dozen places and left the trim molding gobbed with caulk. Woodsman sent out representatives to our home and stated they would correct any problems. I have noticed in the reviews that this is apparently their mode of operation. Subs do the work and then they make subsequent visits to your home to correct all the deficiencies.

Overall, we were satisfied with their work and timeliness. The back splash was somewhat different that what we looked at in the showroom and when we complained they said there was nothing they could do about it. When they brought samples for us to look at after the installation, they did not bring the sample that we looked at. Just felt they didn't really try to help us once the work was done.

We recently moved to Jacksonville and used Woodsman to install the counters in our home, because they were recommended and have a name here in Jacksonville.  The final product in the kitchen is very nice.  However, the process to get there took way too long and had too many people involved.  Phone calls were not returned promptly, communication among the contacts at Woodsman was poor.  The team that did the countertop install left razor blades and debris around and under the countertops, and did not protect existing surfaces in the home during install. One backsplash piece was cut incorrectly and not installed, and the install team left and said that Woodsman would call them about it.  It took almost 3 days to get a call back regarding that missing piece.  The team that did the tear out was top notch, and Jim told them to make sure to clean it up and leave it as it was when they arrived.  We cannot give the install team the same review.  Even though we had our bathroom counter templated by Woodsman at the same time the kitchen was, we do not plan to use them to replace the bathroom counter(s).

Additionally, for Woodsman being a "full service" provider, it was annoying that the installation of the countertop is handled in such a piece-meal type manner.  Tearout of existing counter is an additional charge, disassembly of plumbing is an additional charge, and they recommend that you hire your own person to do it.  The $/sq. ft cost of their granite is quite misleading when you have to add all of these additional charges to it.

The material is beautiful but the installation is not professionally done. It looks as if my husband and I did the work ourselves. Waiting for Jamie or Toney to return my calls.

This is an update to the countertop, found a large piece of backsplash not even glued. Still waiting for them to return the calls. This is another company that doesn't care after they receive full payment up front.

This is a final update-8/12/15-Tony called last Thursday and scheduled to come over the following day. He agreed the backsplash was not up to par. He stated that my contractor, Terry Trzecieski, did the work. When I purchased the product and service, my understanding was that Woodsman would do the installation as stated on the receipt. Never the less, Tony sent a new set of installers and corrected the issue. It looks a lot better than before.

They were great. They were very good and thorough. They are on time. Everything about them was top notch. The price was competitive. It wasn't the cheapest and it wasn't the most expensive. They stuck to their schedule and I was very impressed with that. Everybody showed up when they were supposed to show up and they were no delays. The materials came in on time. I only had one minor minor problem after all the said and done and that was couple of months afterward and I call them and they had somebody over the next morning and they took care of it right away. I probably would use them if needed.

We worked with a wonderful person, Jayne, who made great suggestions. She suggested we remove a half wall in the kitchen which opened the room up and just love it. All the counters were raised and a few custom cabinets were made to give us extra storage. She spent as much time with us as we needed. Everyone there was great to work with. Anytime we had questions or needed something done, they were right there. They thought it would take about a month and it did. Everyone was very professional and a pleasure to work with. It was so nice to have everything coordinated from one place. We both work and we had no problem having everyone in our house when we were gone. They let us know who would be there and when. We would definitely use them again.

The arrived when they said they would and installed an Armstrong floor and shoe molding.

The job was done in one and a quarter days. It would have been done in one day but the truck

they had did not have the saw to cut the molding.

The only down side was the floor was ordered 2/20/2014 and not in till 3/21/2014

If you are buying from them check to make sure the product is in. Other than that I would use them again. The work was great and my wife loves the floor.

Terri Dubose was the designer on both bathrooms and was a huge help with decisions. She visited our home twice to help make design choices and we are very happy with the result. Although there were delays and issues with the installations, the contractors were very easy to work with and were committed to completing the projects to our satisfaction.

The design was done to OUR specification and the project tasks were scheduled and completed on time.

The quality of the materials and professionalism of the personnel were all most satisfactory. Our primary disappointment was a series of delays due to inaccurate measurements, incorrect materials and communication problems between the various subcontractors providing the materials and services. Examples are part of the replacement countertop had to be returned to the shop for refitting, the Corian surface displayed areas that required subsequent polishing, and some of the tile given to the installer was wrong and/or insufficient for the job. The result was a job for which completion scheduled for three or four days actually required nearly ten weeks. On the other hand, the company was apologetic and made reasonable efforts to correct all of the problems without objections. Also, based on our past experience with construction projects, we expected the project would take two weeks or a bit longer, although not ten weeks. However, of primary importance to us, we are happy with the final product.

Woodsman Kitchens and Floors did an excellent job. It was great. I was very pleased. They have a very good system in their reception. They came when they said they're gonna be here.

Woodsman Kitchens and Floors did a really nice job and their cabinets are especially nice because they're not custom. They're ready made to fit cabinets, so the price is so much cheaper. We were real pleased with both of the men they sent out. They were very personable and very knowledgeable and it took a total of three hours to complete.

Up front all was well. Tile was installed but there was a defect. Tile had to be ripped out and redone. Had to wait several weeks for new tile to be installed and had to choose a different color. New tile was installed and two of the pieces were not glazed and different in color thean the rest. Those had to be ripped out and reinstalled. Two different people did the grout work so grout did not match on the replacement areas. After the many issues we just decided to let it go and put a table over the different color area. Will not use them again. Also tile workers could not speak any english, very hard to communicate.

The people were excellent. More importantly the follow through when something did go wrong they have been very good about, they would make sure it was made right. We've been generally pleased with the general contractor. He's been very very accommodating. The cabinet people were very good. We probably had the most trouble with the tile people but they came back and we pointed out problems and they fixed them promptly.

The selection of workmanship was great. The quality was worth the money. They were courteous, came on time, finished the job and cleaned the place before they left. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

Great! Woodsman's Terri DeVose was outstanding in understanding our goals, adjusting to practical applications and then having construction and completion done beautifully.

They had a competitive price on the marble, but when the job was complete, it wasn't a 100% job. They didn't measure the area correctly. It fit, but it was it was barely off. It was a quarter inch wide in one place and it an inch in another. I don't plan to do business with them again, considering they measured three times and didn't get it right/

The job went smoothly from start to finish. The only problem was when installing the counter top the PVC pipe from the dishwasher was broken. Their plumber came promptly and fixed it. I didn't have to call plumbers, electricians, etc. Woodsman handled all of that. My salesperson, Teri, was outstanding in her design. She worked with me on style, color, etc. and I absolutely love it! Doc was the head person on this project and he was right on top of everything and Jim and Nic were there to watch over everything! Someone from Woodsman called to be sure I was happy every step of the way. I truly felt like the customer was their main concern!

I am very pleased with the finished product. This company did a great job and I would recommend them to anyone. They made sure to answer all of my questions and were clean as well.

Woodsman is unique in that they exhibit everything they sell in their showroom. And if they do not have the exact color, you can take pieces home to try and match the color. Their installation work is good, especially with the higher-priced cabinets.

Woodsman Kitchens and Floors did a great job installing the floor. They were very nice, and they cleaned up after themselves. My husband and I are both very pleased with the turnout.
