Convenient and reliable communication, but their quote came in $1000+ more than everyone else who came out.

This highly the worst experience I ever had in my entire life being a 62 year old person. Roto-Rotor came out to my home, and even before they started working charged my landlord well over $400 to unclog a pipe, the job wasn't completed to say the least. Their senior supervisor James came out on Saturday 09/02/2023 to the property. Before even started he was quoting prices from $495 to $629 for work he hadn't done yet. Once.he received a payment, he work well until after dark without any results to show for it. But, he left a nasty mess in my livingroom and bathroom. He even went in my bedroom to plug up his electric snake device without my permission. Also adding insult to injury he had the poorest of attitudes. Making comments like "you people" making it seem like a clog that he couldn't take care was our fault because we used flushable wipes. He also put the toliet inside my shower, that my two minor grandsons and I use. He walk back and forth from the bathroom and outside tracking raw sewage and dirt in my home. My son, daughter in law, and 10 month granddaughter were at my home to celebrate my daughter's birthday, which passed in March of 2020. Her son's who live with me were traumatized. His snake got stuck so he went outside in the front of the home dugged a hole, then cut a hole in the pipe, went back in the bathroom remove his snake leaving even move raw sewage all over it. Walls, door, vanity, toilet and shower walls inside and out. He complained the entire time, and didn't clean upthe mess he made, or mention it. He had me sign an invoice, but didn't leave me a copy.

They are not professionals and they count not handle my water restoration issue , I called them initially for water leak fix but they water to do water restoration first and I signed the contact for 16000$ for the project as I do not know actual work , but next day I got second estimate for the sane job 4000$ then I have asked to cancel the contract as second company agreed for just 4000$ , but Roto rooter charged me for 2500$ to just cancel the contract , they are very rude and very very expensive .

Like many older homes in St Augustine, our's developed a slab leak. Laundry room and garage flooded. We called Roto-Rooter right away and we had an estimate in less than 2 business days. Work started the very next day. The crew was well-trained, professional, and thorough. They re-piped our 2BR/2bath home in 2 days. They even arranged for a drywall professional to give us an estimate for repairing the (minimal) cuts they had to make to reach some of our plumbing. They met every deadline and kept every promise. Our neighbors who went with other companies were all let down in some way. And we even paid less than some of our friends for similar work. Highly recommend and would absolutely use again.

Tried to change a faucet in the bathroom. After removing the old one the water values under the sink where leaking. Called around and could not get anyone to come out today except for Rotor_Rooter. JP arrived and let me know it would cost $325.00. I was a little surprise on the price but I needed to repair the values. JP went to work right a way and replaced both values. He cleaned up as he worked. Did an outstanding job. If I have to call them again I would ask for him to come out.

I had a clog in a kitchen sink late on a Saturday and decided to go with Roto Rooter because they were the first place that I could find that advertised that they offered the same prices for Sundays. Wow. Big mistake. Here's what happened. First, I called and made an appointment. They said that you had to select a four hour window but they would call you about a half hour before they arrive. I chose 11am to 3pm on Sunday. Here is a timeline on the day of service: 12:49pm - I received a call saying that they would be at my place in 90 minutes. 2:19pm - The time they are supposed to arrive. They no show. No call. 3:00pm - The end of my requested "four hour window". Still no show. Still no call. 5:08pm - They finally call and say that they are running late. They ask if I want to continue waiting or reschedule. I reluctantly say that I will wait. 7:09pm - I get a call from dispatch saying that a plumber will be on his way, but it will be about 45 minutes to travel to my house. 7:19pm - The plumber himself called and said he has a family emergency. I'm not sure if I believe him. He said he can still come but he won't be at my house until around 9pm. I reluctantly say that is fine as I've already waited this long. 9:00pm - Plumber doesn't show. Doesn't call. 9:45pm - Plumber calls and says he is on his way. At this point, I don't even bother asking when he will arrive. 10:40pm - Plumber arrives. He turns on water in the sink and sees that it backs up. He then tells me it will cost $338 to fix. I asked if he was kidding. He said no and that was the minimum call price. I obviously declined. After he left, I checked Angie's List because I couldn't believe the price. I immediately saw some people having services for $220 and such. He had said that $338 was the minimum. I called Roto Rooter (not saying who I was) and asked for their minimum service call and they said that they couldn't quote prices over the phone. Really? You can't quote the minimum service call price? What legitimate business operates like that? After getting off the phone, I looked through my files since I had the exact same thing (a clogged sink) less than a year ago and had gone with a different company. Their price (including all taxes and fees) was less than $115. Roto Rooter was charging almost three times the price!!! The $115 was a Saturday, but even if you wanted to pay time and a half overtime, it would still be less than half of Roto Rooter. I know some people get emotional when writing reviews and may embellish, but I assure you that everything that I've said above is 100% true and factual. If this is the type of company that you want to use, then, by all means, hire Roto Rooter.

“Roto-Rooter was the ONLY plumbing company that I could get to come out the same day when we experienced a house sewer line blockage! WE have 4 people who live in our house and we need to be able to use the bathrooms! Our service tech, Jerry(#505), was great. We had no idea where the clean out was located. He found it, buried under a Bush! Wow! He was quick and fast to get our toilets flushing again!!! He also wore Booties every time he entered the house! I would highly recommend Roto-Rootor!!”

They were fine. It was higher than what I expected, but he was fine. What i really like about that is first a guy came and he was in my house over an hour. He looked over everything that he needed to do and he said he doesn't do it; he's going to bring somebody. He said they would send another guy to do it. He was nice, but it was too high. We probably paid $200 more. I told them it was too high and he told me they knew they were too high, but they would do a good job. The house is 20 years old and they could not fine the color of a product I needed.

Tech visual check of faucet dripping, checked his price book and quoted $245. I suggested that it might just be the just the cartridge that was causing the dripping and $245 seemed very high. He referred back to his price book and again quoted $245. Told him I didn't want to have him fix it. Called a different company, tech came out and replaced the cartridge. Faucet fixed and the bill was $110.

The work was satisfactory and we haven't had any problems. There's still a drip that we got that one of the things we were trying to fix.  They worked well for us.  They had to come back on something and they came back quick.

My house flooded as the result of a slab leak -- I did not learn of the leak until I got home after work on a Thursday evening. I called Roto Rooter because they do not charge for after hours and weekends. They promptly sent a plumber out that evening. He was professional and gave me an estimate for replumbing ($4,300.00 for 2400 sq ft house with 2.5 baths). The next day, Friday, Roto Rooter sent a mitigation team to clean up the damage caused by the flooding. These guys were great! They cleaned up everything and left equipment to continue the drying out process. Chris and especially Kevin were awesome -- I would give the mitigation team an "A." Next, two plumbers showed up to work on the re-plumb. They told me the permit was not pulled in timely and if it didn't come in on Friday they could not do the work until Monday. They also advised me that the first guy had "under bid the job" and my estimate was now $5,400.00! Notwithstanding this, these two guys were very professional and very patient while I was dealing with my insane insurance company. I would give Errol and his partner an "A" - very hard workers with a great work ethic. No permit came and so no work was done on Friday. After much "discussion" with my homeowner's insurance company over the weekend, I decided to just get the leak repaired and postpone the re-plumb since the quote had increased by more than $1,000.00 and I would have to pay for all of that plus all the repairs resulting from the plumbers punching out walls and tile to get to pipes. I called Roto Rooter early Sunday morning and told them my decision and asked them to send someone to repair the slab leak asap (my family had been without water for 3 days now). They agreed to send plumbers out between noon and 4pm on that Sunday. Around 2 pm, one guy shows shows up with no jackhammer, and claims to be totally surprised that he is supposed to repair a slab leak. He proceeds to ask me numerous questions about a prior slab leak I had about 8 inches from where this one is... including why I called Roto Rooter instead of the plumbers who fixed my first slab leak. (Even though he later goes on to tell me how Roto does not guarantee slab leak repairs...LOL!!) He also tells me he has to pull a permit to repair the slab leak...?! This guy was rather put out ---he obviously did not want to do the job. He then gets on the phone at his truck and comes back and gives me an estimate of $1,950.00 to repair a slab leak!!! He admits he was wrong and now does not need a permit. He also tells me the initial estimate was $2,200.00 but he "got them down"... I told him how much it cost me before ($485) in essentially the same place but he had no explanation for the extraordinarily high price. I give this guy, Alec, a "F." (That is why after the "A"' ratings above, I rated the overall "professionalism" overall as a "C.") I declined the work and called two other plumbing companies who both gave me an estimate of $495.00 over the phone. Easterday Plumbing came out first thing Monday morning - slab leak repaired in 2 hours for $495.00. That is $1.455.00 less than Roto Rooter and Easterday did not give me a speech about not guaranteeing their work!
