On 10/2022 the Paul Davis Restoration Company was sent by our homes insurance company for level 3 water damage. After demolition my husband requested a quote from the repair side of Paul Davis. My husband received a quote with one tech and his manager. After an employee turnover he was stated that quote was not valid and they have no records of that. However, my husband has the paperwork along with emails from our insurance company with the information. Since 10/2022 we have been going back and forth with Paul Davis for completion of our home. Our homes floor titles are particularly torn apart from an attempt to pull the water damage titles up. Paul Davis has multiple quotes from our insurance approving fixtures on the cabinets, countertops, floors, etc yet no one has contacted my husband or myself. However, the management, field staff are unresponsive, unprofessional, disorganized, and unconstructive. In my opinion using Paul Davis for anything leads to a headache, unnecessary time and energy, and financial risk. Not to mention after speaking with a colleague who happens to be a doctor, and has previous experience with Paul Davis. She stated Paul Davis are crooks. Paul Davis please submit itemized receipt of everything that has been done? Please remember the itemized receipt should be identical to the itemized receipt my husband has from our home insurance company. Not the information given to him verbally about some fees will be delegated to other fees that required more expenses than another expense. Just like one of the other reviews we were told Paul Davis could not take their home repair We were informed Paul Davis decided not to continue the repairs on our home. Abruptly, after they came and pulled up our title throughout our house. We should not be charged on the itemized receipt for the title if the pulling up of the title was not completed. Along, with not including transfer of pack up items. No work was completed to even have the items transferred. Water damage was all throughout the floor not just in two spots of the title. The gentleman who was speaking with husband was Doug;however, he must of been told not to respond to my husband since he never responded back to my husbands text. Thank you for your time and assistance. The photos attached are photos we had to request to have remove from the demolition crew once they already said they were done with demolition. Along, with uncompleted title removal. As you can see they failed to remove the contaminated water damage from the overflowing fetus filled toilet damage from material of the home.

Paul Davis Restoration of North Florida did a great job assessing our problems from Hurricane Matthew: Roofing, ceiling, flooring, mold. Our insurance company recommended them, which was a great help to us. David got to our house at the time promised for an estimate, walked around measuring, asking questions, taking pictures. He worked with our insurance company to fill out their forms and submit our claim. Other companies wanted us to sign a form saying they would get all the money from our insurance company BEFORE WE KNEW WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO. Not so with Paul Davis Restoration of North Florida. David and Keith came and explained the claim process. We ended up not going with them because we wanted to use our own roofer’s specs, and their roofer wanted to use theirs. Since our roof was 55 years old, we trusted our roofer and never got an opportunity to talk to theirs. PDR would have completed the work in about a month – it took us, managing it on our own, about 7 months. We will surely use them, if we get the opportunity again, though we hope we don’t have another hurricane. Highly recommended!

The packing of the house took over 2 weeks due to the 3 person staff coming late, taking long lunches and leaving early. Their boss Jane was on vacation and minimally involved. This was a major renovation due to a huge tree falling on our home. Then we started out good under the direction of Ned project manager however did not meet two deadlines under his watch and he left to start his own company. Multiple failed inspections by the county Next Jane ( mentioned before) was to take over as project manager number two. Jane was disorganized and over her head taking over the project. She was late every time I was to meet with her as well. We could never get a straight answer about pricing. Three different quotes given in front of several family members. First it was nothing out of pocket then it was a couple thousand finally they wanted 10k plus but the original design we asked for never changed. Things were very disorganized. The painters they subcontracted were horrible. Next was josh project manager. He never returned calls to the homeowner. Most work ceased under his direction. We had days to weeks with no work being done in the house. Two bathrooms unfinished after a entire year and we moved back into the home. After we moved in with work still not being completed we found out that we had no insulation in the attic. We thought something was wrong with the air conditioning bc it wouldn't cool the house come to find out the insulation was missing! We had already had the roof installed and new ac ducting etc but no insulation. We had excuse after excuse as to why things were not completed correctly. Complaints to corporate go unheard with no response. Very poor customer service! Still not completed 14 months later due to having to fire Paul Davis and seek Allstate insurance help to hire a new contractor and release funds to fix all the things wrong or not completed in the home. I can't say how badly this company handled our project. Very cheap materials or sub par sub contractors were used. The garage door windows were replaced and they had nails holding the glass panes in with some caulking. Very dangerous and need to be replaced again as they are moving while the garage door is raised and literally hanging on by a thread when in the raised position. Overall if I could give my experience a F minus I would. Steer clear of this company. Allstate is removing them from their approved providers and Angie's list should as well.

Stay away from these crooks!!!! We had a water leak on the second floor of our home in November 2014. We contracted Paul Davis Restoration (PDR) to do the emergency response as well as the repairs to the walls, ceilings and flooring. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! They hired inferior subcontractors who improperly installed wood floors and took months to complete it! The wood flooring is glued to the concrete slab. They did not completely remove the old flooring and did not properly level the flooring before they installed the new flooring. They used too much glue in areas which seeped through the planks. The flooring buckled in areas and is uneven throughout. They had to hire a different flooring contractor to inject glue into hollow spots in the floor. Because they used too much glue, the brand new flooring had a residue/haze on it. They used multiple types of solvents and Magic Erasers to clean the haze (and stripped the finish off our brand new floors). Furthermore, when they were trying to remove the old flooring from the slab, they used grinders inside our home without even prepping the areas and trying to seal off the rest of the house. We still have white dust everywhere!! After over 4 months of dealing with this, their offer was to tear the flooring out and start all over. There is no way we could put our family through that again (there was no guarantee they would do it properly or in a timely manner if given another chance). PDR did end up firing the incompetent subcontractor (after they stole a key to our house); however, the management and owners were ineffective at completing the project correctly. They have been a NIGHTMARE to deal with for 6 months. We were supposed to receive a 1-year warranty for our floors - they have not responded to our numerous requests for the appropriate paper work. We are astounded by the lack of Project Management or care at this business. The project took almost 6 months to complete. We are unhappy with the poor quality of the installation and the unreasonably long time it took to complete the work. I would not let them work on a dog house!!!!!

We were led to Paul Davis by the recommendations from several people we trust (including Angie's List). We decided that Paul Davis was an ideal choice for mold remediation and reconstruction for many reasons: Paul Davis has been in business a long time. They have a reputation for probity and professionalism. They follow the complicated mold remediation legal procedures for the State of Florida and Duval County. They have a record of successfully recovering residential properties damaged by fire, flood, and/or mold. Everyone is licensed and bonded. They can provide a complete solution for managing a remediation and restoration project from start to finish; and no other contractor we talked to could offer that. We chose Paul Davis because we wanted the most reliable result at a fair cost, not a quick-fix result done on the cheap. Our confidence in them has paid off: During the course of the renovation they encountered and overcame several totally unexpected challenges. And several times the project manager assigned for various stages of the work suggested solutions for unexpected issues that wound up saving us both time and money. So we recommend Paul Davis because we know they will find a way to compete your project satisfactorily, just like they did for us. Happy homeowners Walter & Christa Snow

PDR 8-10 week project took almost 5 months.
PDR seemed very professional at the beginning. Initial walk through with discussion of work to be performed was more than satisfactory. The follow through was the problem. The contractor that was in charge of the work was unorganized, and definitely more interested in minimizing the overhead to maximize the profit. Could not keep the work going even after multiple complaints. Always willing to sacrifice quality of the property for cheapest possible materials and results.
Heard good things about this company and thought maybe it was just a bad roll of the dice on the contractor that was assigned to us, but complaints to PDR seemed to have little effect.  Since kitchen cabinets and walls had to be replaced and an electrician had to redo wiring, PDR recommended undercabinet light replacements be hard wired to a switch. Never happened, like so many other things. It was an aggravating battle to the bitter end and the thing that sticks with me the most is the ?Can?t Do? attitude of the contractor. Full of excuses and no solutions. I actually had to go to Home Depot for a simple piece of molding that he said couldn?t be replaced (just one example of many issues).

We had laminate flooring so they had to clear all of that. Now we have a new floor. It took a while but it was who they contacted to put in a new floor. Then on my bathroom they put a ceramic tile. They had to replace out as it wouldn't dry out. The flooring was okay but in one of the cabinet there was a wood cabinet that touched the floor and the water loaded little bit on that. They had to replace that. It took a while but they did everything. I had no complaints. The flooring looks good, the cabinet looks good. When everything was finished the crew came and took everything all apart and put everything back. They put moulds and I wasn't here when they did all that. They were nice to work with and overall I was very happy with them. They were great. They were the preferred provider. They came right away so they were very responsive. We were able to turn our dining room into a bedroom and they were very nice. They set one of our beds, layout and that made it look good.

I had a spot of mold in the corner of my garage drywall that was slowly expanding. A previous job at our house (water mitigation, insurance assignment) had given me a good impression of Paul Davis Restoration, and they actually snapped a picture of it at the time. Six months later, I got around to dealing with it, and the manager remembered our home and still had the photos from that observation. With that, we were able to see that indeed, it was growing. They sent me a job estimate over email and I was able to sign, scan, and email it back. I was contacted by a drywall guy (from Gator Drywall) who arranged to come and cut out the spot and look for a cause. If there had been evidence of a roof leak, the job would have stopped and changed, per the original work argeement. Fortunately, there was nothing to indicate it was more than superficial (in fact, he showed me the drywall section he cut out and the mold didn't even go all the way through). He even invited me to stick my head into the exposed crawl space so I could be reassured. Then he put a drywall patch over it, put 2 coats to smooth it out and put texture on the area of the ceiling that was damaged. At that point it had dry overnight before he could prime and paint it, so we made an appointment for the next day. Unfortunately, due to a sudden doctor's visit, I had to call and postpone him for a few hours, but it was no problem (or so he said). He came with a small pot of matched paint for the wall and white paint for the ceiling, and now you can't even tell where the spot was. He also covered nearby objects in the garage with plastic so drywall dust didn't get on them and cleaned up everything. And he put up with curious kids asking him what he was doing every 30 seconds.

My youngest daughter backed up the upstairs bathroom sink and water seeped back behind the sink and into the wall and down into the ceiling below, causing water to stream from the kitchen lights. The Paul Davis team arrived about 2 hours after called by my insurance company (so about 8pm, 3 hrs after the event) and assessed the damaged with infrared scanners and high-tech moisture sensing forks. They then quickly set up fans and dehumidifiers, moving and propping an entertainment center up on foam blocks to reach an area behind the bathroom wall. Every room involved was measured and sketched. They did another assessment of the moisture areas the following day (after about 18 hours), logging everything including the temperatures and condition of the equipment. The next morning they came, reassessed, and took the dryers out, leaving everything as it was when they arrived (only much drier). Through the entire job, they called regularly to confirm appointments and tell me they were on their way, every one took the time to introduce himself and speak to me personally. One supervisor came out to check the work, and they also sent a restorer to look at the ceiling, which we initially thought we might have to rip down and replace (we didn't, there wasn't even discoloration). While there, they also checked and gave me a basic quote on a mold spot in my garage. On the final morning, the infrared scope picked up a low-temp spot that he described probably as a dropped tool or trash left in the original home construction, and he was more than willing to keep the dehumidifiers in place if it made me uncomfortable. Since it was in an area that didn't seem to be associated with the paths we could see earlier had taken, I wasn't concerned. Overall, the experience was very comforting and easy especially considering the stressful nature of it. They were always concerned with my satisfaction, and while the price of it seemed a little steep, I was glad to put the whole thing behind me so quickly and worry-free. I'm definitely calling them back about the moldly spot!

They screwed it up totally. The materials they used were substandard and some of the boards they used on the roof were rotted. The work the workers did wouldn't have ever made it to code, much less pass inspection. All the materials they used were second hand and the employees they had weren't educated in their trade at all. Most of them didn't even know what they were doing. We are in litigation right now, trying to get our money back. Our house still isn't done.
