"At Metro-Rooter it is our company policy to look forward to responding to customer complaints in a timely manner. Unfortunately this is the first time we have been made aware of any dissatisfaction with this job from several months ago. We prefer to provide both materials and labor on all our jobs. This insures that we can provide a complete warranty. Customer-purchased items cannot be covered by us under warranty."
"Our technician went on a service call to the [Member Name Removed] residence at [Member Information Removed] on 12/3/15. He cleared a main line and reset a toilet using parts supplied by the owner. The total charge was $327.00. At 8:55 the following morning (12/4/15) Mrs. [Member Name Removed] called to tell us there had been a problem—they had discovered a small amount of water on the floor by the toilet after our tech left the day before at 3:22 PM. Instead of calling us back when they saw the water Mr. [Member Name Removed] reported to us that he chose to “tighten everything as much as he could”. In the morning, Mr. [Member Name Removed] reported, they woke to a flooded bathroom. Our Plumbing Manager offered to immediately come assess the situation but was told the owner would not be home until 6:00 PM. At 1:00 PM our Plumbing Manager again called to see if he could come earlier than 6:00. Mr. [Member Name Removed] said he would pick up some plumbers' tape and put it on himself. He told our Plumbing Manager he had mainly originally called to see if we do water extraction. (We do not.) Our Plumbing Manager again offered to come out to assess the situation. At 2:06, our Plumbing Manager again spoke to Mrs. [Member Name Removed] who said she “thought the toilet was set improperly”. Our Plumbing Manager again requested to come assess the job. At 3:02 Mrs. [Member Name Removed] texted our Plumbing Manager to say she would be home between 5:30 and 6:00. Our Plumbing Manager met Mrs. [Member Name Removed] at approx. 6:00 PM. He found the supply tube to the toilet was shut off. Mrs. [Member Name Removed] showed him some old water marks on the vanity beside the toilet. It was apparent this had occurred at a time significantly prior to any current events. We did send a plumber the following day to install a new supply line, reset the toilet, and check the seal just to be sure. This was done at no charge. Mr. & Mrs. [Member Name Removed], on the phone and in person always seemed to be very nice people. We wish we would have been informed that they had a problem when they noticed it, and allowed us to fix it as we could have prevented any subsequent issues the [Member Name Removed] family had. We are perplexed why Mr. or Mrs. [Member Name Removed] gave us all F’s on the evaluation as we earnestly tried in every way to help them."
