"This customer contacted us for a landscape curbing estimate. We arrived on time and completed the estimate as scheduled. During the estimate this customer scheduled their installation date. We contacted this customer the day before their scheduled installation and confirmed their landscape curbing installation appointment and provided pre-installation instructions. One of those instructions was to shut off their irrigation system the day before installation no later than 9pm and keep the irrigation system off for three days after installation. We arrived on time for the installation as scheduled. Upon our arrival we saw that the yard was excessively wet to the extent most of the yard was very soggy and squishy when walked on and some areas of their yard had standing water. We had not had rain for several days and the surrounding neighbors yards did not have the same wet conditions as our customers. We asked the customer if she remembered to turn off the irrigation system the day before which she said she had shut it off. We explained to the customer that we would not be able to install their landscape curbing that day due to the excessively wet conditions and how the landscape curbing could not be poured in standing water. When given this information the customer was verbally disappointed and visibly upset. She then went into the house to call her husband. While the customer went inside her mother who was also there, informed us that they had deliberately run their irrigation system because they were concerned about not being able to water for three days. We told the customer we would need to reschedule for another date. When we later contacted and spoke to this customer by phone to reschedule their installation, they told us they were no longer interested in our services. This customer was upset with us since we were not able to install their curbing as scheduled. If this customer would have followed instructions instead of disregarding instructions, their curbing would have been installed on time as scheduled. Instead of accepting responsibility for the conditions they caused, they choose to leave us a negative review. We are not sure why this customer would think we didn't want to do the work after taking the time to speak with them, schedule appointments, come out for an estimate and arrive as scheduled prepared for their installation."
