Thomas B was sent to my home. When he
arrived he was polite, professional, and ready to work. He took the time to explain what he was
doing, was very thorough, very customer
oriented and answered any questions I had.
In addition Thomas made me aware of the Air McCall Heat Pump& Air
Condition Service And Maintenance Agreement.
After he explained the benefits and again answered any questions I agreed
to sign the agreement. Overall I was very happy with Thomas B with Air
McCall. Because of Thomas I will use Air
McCall for all my home A/C/Heat Pump needs.
If you are reading this review I highly recommend anyone to use Air

I didn't hear from Air McCall on Friday so I called another air conditioner service recommended by a co-worker. The technician serviced my unit on Tuesday 5/27. He also did a leak check. He didn't find any leaks in the refrigerant coils or any of the exposed lines. He did find a leak in the vapor line service value. It was loose. He tightened the service value and then evacuated the system, pulled a vacuum, and reloaded the system with R22 coolant. He did another leak check and found no leaks. By far the most expensive element of the service call was the cost of the R22 coolant. The unit has been running fine since 5/27.
"Yikes, since we have an 'A+' rating with the BBB and just earned the "Super Service Award" from Angie's List, it's a shock to see Mr. [member name removed] negative review. I personally reviewed what our technician did and found that he adhered to our diagnostic protocol in this instance. The a/c system is 21 years old, rusty in several areas, and was very low on refrigerant so the technician did a refrigerant leak search with sophisticated leak detection equipment that emits a beep when a leak is detected. The technician in question has a good deal of experience and, in his opinion, the leak was in the top portion of the condensing coil. Since we must use a factory coil for replacement, we are at the mercy of the manufacturer regarding the repair cost and this coil was very expensive thus making the repair expensive to the customer. Consequently, the technician referred Mr. [member name removed] to our Sales Division to provide a proposal to replace the system versus the repair. Prior to our Sales Associate contacting Mr. [member name removed], the second technician from another company diagnosed the refrigerant leak being in a valve that he said was loose. While 95% of refrigerant leaks are found in the coil itself (not service valves), it is possible that that our technician mis-diagnosed the leak. If Mr. [member name removed] would have called our office to provide the information contained in this review, I would have sent another Senior Technician to his home at no charge to perform another leak search. If this second leak search confirmed what the other company's technician found, I would promptly have refunded Mr. [member name removed] the $164 he paid for our service and apologized for our error. So, I offer that same service to Mr. [member name removed] at this point as well. I will gladly send our Senior Technician to perform another leak search with state-of-the-art leak detection equipment and if we don't find the condenser coil to be leaking I will issue a full refund of $164.
