I called Air Engineers 1/11/2021 for a problem with my heat pump system that had stopped running during the night. When the technician arrived and opened the air handler he said oh, the wire nut on the incoming power wire has come loose. After he fixed the connection, about 2 minutes, I asked him why would the wire nut come loose, and he said they come loose from time to time and should have been checked and tightened during your last system maintenance. The technician then told me there was an $85.00 charge for replacing the wire nut. I asked the tech why I had to pay for the service call, since I am on your yearly system maintenance. He said the charge was for the wire nut installation First, I cannot believe that Air Engineers would have the gall to charge $85.00 to install a wire nut. Second, why do I pay for yearly maintenance, if I have to pay to have something fixed, that should have been corrected, during my last six months system maintenance checkup? If this is the way Air Engineers is going to treat one of their longtime customers, I will be looking for another company to handle my future home heating, and air condition needs. The Air Engineers Operations Manager, called me today and made me feel that a good customer relationship comes second to making money for the company.

I have nothing but respect and regard for the technicians who work for Air Engineers. But their scheduling department headed by a woman named Crystal at Air Engineers is incompetent and unpleasant to deal with. Several weeks ago, we made an appointment with Air Engineers. When when the day of our appointment arrived, nobody came to our house to service our AC. It seems that when we made our appointment the scheduling department forget to record it in their schedule. We subsequently rescheduled a visit and when we did, the technician said we had major leaks in our AC and we needed to quickly get it repaired. This was especially urgent as we were going out of town for 4 weeks. However, when we called back, Crystal would barely give us the time of the day. We told her about our schedule and she said she would get back to us. But she totally blew us off. Finally we called the office again and got some other people in the scheduling office. They included Tine, Elaine and Jose and they were very nice and told us they would make sure our AC was fixed before we left. We even got an e mail saying they would come out today Friday. But on Friday, we waited around and nobody came. When I called Air Engineers, the scheduling department said that they had canceled our appointment. When I asked why they did not at least tell us. Crystal, who seems lacking any sense of empathy, said they had talked to my wife. In disbelief I said her comments were not true at all. In fact, If Crystal had called my wife, I mentioned that I would not be calling her to inquire why there were no technicians at our house in the first place. As you can see, Air Engineers has left us hanging several time. It seems that we call them, they promise service and then they never show up. If you talk to Crystal she is very unpleasant and non apologetic and does not seem to care whether our AC is fixed or not. The technicians at Air Engineers are first rate especially Jose. But the scheduling department under Crystal provides terrible service. At least Elaine, Jose and Tine are sympathetic. But Crystal is another matter. Avoid her at all cost. The service manager at Air Engineers needs to find a better person to run their scheduling department. Crystal seems unorganized, and she seems indifferent as to whether the company provides good service or not.

The quote received for a replacement system was outrageous. A $20,000+ Carrier system with only a 10 year guarantee on certain parts, and no labor was provided. This was for a client who had service from the company for over 20 years. A competitor priced out a quote on a Daikin system that has a 12 year warranty on parts and labor which was less than half the price.

Zero integrity. I called on Dec 10 asking for a service appointment. One was offered for the evening between 6pm and 8pm. Since this wasn't an emergency, we really didn't want to make somebody work that late. The appointment was made for the next morning "first appointment" between 8 and 10 am. Later in the afternoon I got a confirmation email showing the appointment was for the 22nd of December. An hour later I got another email showing it correctly for the 11th. On December 11th, at 9:45 there was no sign of them and no call from them. I called their office and was told that the service manager was already on his way. Ten minutes later, at 9:55, the service manager called and said he was just about to leave and would be at least 30 minutes or more depending on traffic. At this point they had zero integrity in my eyes. I cancelled with him, called the operations manager to express my dissatisfaction. Operations manager was pleasant, and apologetic and offered a year's free service. That was very nice of him - but - if you can't get even the service manager to show up for a confirmed appointment, what good are more appointments? Going with another company.

I couldn’t be happier with Air Engineers. My HVAC unit when out on Father’s Day (this past Sunday). I called five different companies in the top 10 for HVAC repair on Angie’s List (Jacksonville, FL) who advertised 24/7 service. Out of those five companies, only one company’s emergency technician called me back…Thomas from Air Engineers. He made it out to the house that day and had the A/C up and running again. As luck would have it, my HVAC went out again with a totally different problem and hard to diagnose. I called Air Engineers and requested Thomas. Again, he added me to his already busy schedule and stayed at my home from 7pm until nearly midnight. Because I had tenants with children in the home, it was stressful for me as the home owner. He remained positive the entire time and never gave up. He located a problem with my damper and then spent the next several hours trying to locate a tricky and slow refrigerant leak. It wasn’t until I told him he could quit working that he finally agreed to take another swing at it in the daylight. Additionally, I admired that when he ran into trouble locating the leak, he did not hesitate to call his maintenance supervisor and even one of the corporate trainers for help. No one is every too big to ask for help! The next day (today), Air Engineers sent Steve out to my home. Steve was not only able to locate this tricky leak, but he kept me in the loop while I was at work. As an active duty service member, I was unable to make it to the house. He communicated to me throughout the repair and gave me the peace of mind about the way ahead. Because of these two technicians, I immediately called Elaine (she is also just as awesome by the way) and signed up for the extended service plan with Air Engineers. I will NEVER call another HVAC company again. Thank you Air Engineers!

It is not a very big company. They are very small. They are very honest. I love the way they clean with the products they use. Nothing is harmful or harsh. I have been using them for years now. I do it like twice a year. At the end of the year and around the summer. I get a discount if I take the protection program for the whole year. So when they come I do not have to pay at that time unless there is a repair or something breaks down. One time, my engine died. It was unbelievable the time it took them to repair. It only took them like two days.

The diagnosis was higher than other companies. Some are 49 and 90 them is 99 dollars . But I had bad experiences specially with AA heating and cooling . With this one the 1st person who came for diagnosis was upfront with the fees which is very nice. The one who repaired and change the motors was very good. He was training the other person. There was a mixed up on what motor, he change the 1st floor instead of the second floor . But he corrected And was honest with it .

I have a yearly contract with them. I just got a refund for the time that the service wasn't being done because I was in the process of moving and everything. My husband and I have been using them for years. They come out twice a year on the contract. I don't remember how much the contract costs. We started using them at least 20 years, before my husband died. Based on 25 years.

The problem with the price is that they tell you what it is, and you don't really know what they part's cost. If you are without air, you pay it. I don't know if that is the proper price for it. It is possible I was overcharged because I don't know how much that part costs. They do a good job when I use them. I think I would use them again. One worker came out and they were fine.
