"Thank you first, for your business. Secondly our drywall tradesman was under the weather for a two week period, and we also noticed his discomforts. We apologize and hope that you will call us again to help with any future projects on your home. I'm glad we could get the project finished as quick as we did, and on budget. And again apologize about our installers "no soup for you" attitude."
"Unfortunately we had to stop charging the $50 consultation fee. A fee we charged when the customer didn't own the home yet. People became appalled that a company that was owned by a person that had dedicated his life and over 18 years to his trade, was trying to cover the costs of all these "free" estimates (as many as 40 per week) that mostly (95%) were going with the cheaper-faster companies solely because of cost. With very little consideration of the actual quality of the work or the actual professionalism of the project. Not to mention the risks the homeowners were risking (their homes and assets) by using companies that don't even have Workman's Compensation Insurance. All to save a buck."
"We are sorry that our plan didn't appeal to you. We can really produce some beautiful work, but it takes a long list of preparation. We start by covering the floors with brown paper (over antique wood floors) to protect them. Then we sand and clean the walls. Removing dust (your skin and hair) and contaminants from the walls. Then we clean the walls quickly before we start spackling and caulking, if needed. We use fast-dry products so we can get to work after about an hour. Another light sanding and cleaning before we apply the paint. We are known for our finishes and professionalism, not for being fast nor cheap. We hope that if you get a project that you would really like to see shine, with that special little touch, that you would give me the opportunity to give you a free estimate. And feel free to check with one of our 700+ local paint references!! We appreciate your feedback, and your time."
"We apologize about having to charge for your estimate. I talked to your husband and explained the reasoning behind our policies. At least now the folks that contact us are actually interested in getting the work done. I have been to estimates in the past where the people were getting 8-10 estimates. Being a small family-owned company we don't have the manpower to run around all day giving these folks free advice. Now we are able to spend more quality time with our actual customers."
"Thanks for your comment. There were several areas in your home that the drywall seams really needed addressing. One of them was the source of a major crack, and one had some water damage on it from a leak. Some painters will prime with oil, over water stains to "hide" them. I have also done my share of drywall work that painters had covered up, a year and a half later where mold remediators and extensive drywall had to be removed. My job is to do what is right for your home, my employees and our reputation. My estimate had additional drywall costs because I thought it would be worth it's price to remedy your future health concerns. I apologize that we were higher, but I had a more extensive approach than the other estimates. I hope that whomever fixed your home took the opportunity to address these same issues. We look forward to possibly looking at your exterior paint project, when that comes up as well. Thanks again for your interest in Triple A."
One of the things Wade told us from the beginners was he wanted us to provide the materials. He said they would go get the materials for us but we would buy it directly from the supplier. This was great. I had wanted to do this anyway because I did not want to pay the markup for the provider supplying the material. Wade ususally uses Sherwin Williams for his painting products. We wanted to use another paint product, Benjamin Moore. With Rick's contacts, he also knew the folks that supply Benjamin Moore products in the Jacsonville area. Not only did we not have to pay Rick's markup, Rick got us a discount on the paint we purchased. The same was true with the wood and doors. Rick went to his supplier, purchased the materials he needed and allowed us to pay for it. We probably saved $250 by purchasing materials directly.
We started with the carpentry work. Rick was very prompt to arrive when he said he would. The quality of his work was acceptional. The crown molding work had its challenges because there were many turns which were not the normal 90 degree turns. His fit up was excellent. For the door, he told us what we could expect from removing the old door and the issues in replacing the new French Doors. It allowed us to prepare for what the finished product would look like. There ended up being an issue with one of the French Doors but Rick removed the door, corrected the issue and replaced it. He recognized it was a mistake he had made but promptly corrected the mistake without question. In addition, Rick was very clean. He did not make any messess with saw dust and kept his work area neat and clean. For people than understand this type of work, maintaining a clean work area is indicative of the quality of work you will get out of the provider.
For the painting, again the painters were always prompt, they were conscientious and they were courteous. The first thing they did was completely cover every inch of the floor with craft paper to protect the floor. The condo has no furniture so the task was easier than if there was furniture there but if there had been, they would have made provisions to protect all surfaces that were not going to be painted. They inspected all paintable surfaces, fixed all imperfections, sanded as needed and painted. They were timely and the quality of their work was very good. We ended up with primarily two painters. Both painters had their strengths and they played off each others strengths. Twyla was definitely the details person and she did a quality job on the cut in work. Twyla ended up completing the final details of the job and it was clear why Wade had Twyla performing that function. She was very good and paid attention to final details.
My wife and I are very much sticklers for detail. We both have done this type work on our houses in the past and we firmly believe in quality over quantity. AAA did a quality job for us. As the painting progressed, we would find issues that did not meet our standards. In every case, Wade and his team corrected the problem without question. Wade believes that a happy customer is a repeat customer and the happy customer will spread the word. He does everything he can to make sure the customer is satisfied with the product AAA Advanced Residential Rehab provides. In addition, his pricing is reasonable and he takes responsibility for the work he provides.
Obviously, we were very pleased with AAA Advanced Residential Rehab. We would use them again and probably will in the future. In addtion, we would recommend them to anyone needing work done on their abode.
My one complaint is that when pressure washing my paver driveway, all the sand was washed out from between the pavers and I had to re-sand my entire driveway. In fairness, I was concerned that this would happen and I should have asked that they not pressure wash the drive.
