Auto Transmission Service
$150
On the brake job which was about 6 months ago the company quoted me roughly $190 (I can't remember the exact amount) for the front brakes and if the rotors need to be cut.  Great...no problem.  However when I went to pick the car up the price was $20 extra as they "forgot" there was some extra items they needed to charge for.  Begrudgingly I paid it and told myself I would never use them again even though they were close and convenient.
So then I needed a trailer hitch put on my car.  U-Haul was $110 to put the hitch on and wiring harness.  I thought that was a little high so I went here to see what they would charge.  They said $75 so I was like "Great, I can save $35 as I even spoke to the guy and told him I was hoping to save a hit over U-Haul as their prices are usually high".  So I drop the car off and they call me and tell me it is done.  I arrive and they say they did not hook up the wiring harness as it has to be hard wired and they thought it was a simple snap-in one(no manufacturer makes a snap-in one for my car since it is a new model).  So they say it will be an extra $50 and then his other guy says he does not want to do it for that and he should charge me more or send the job to U-Haul.  So I ask him do you want to do it for $50 or not?  He says that is fine they will do it.  I was ok with paying the extra $50 as I understand they thought it was a snap-in, but now they are more expensive than U-Haul and I have a guy working on my car who said he doesn't want to do it as it is not worth it to him.  How does it make a customer feel when the guy who is working on your car says he does not want to do it for the price the owner is quoting?
Then I am waiting for a call when the car is done.  No call arrives so I call.  They say the car is done.  Ok, I go to pick it up and now the price is another $25 higher.  I ask why and they say it was $100 for the initial install and if I want to wait for the owner to come back, I can discuss it with him.  I had things to do so I left and stopped back the next day.
So I discussed it with the owner the next day.  Now the story changed again.  It was back to $75 for the initial install, but he is saying that was for the hitch only.  I said I confirmed with you twice the price of the install of the hitch and wiring harness was $75 and he insists I only said the hitch.  Do you really think when I have the hitch and wiring harness I am going to only ask to have one installed?  You need both to trailer anything.  If there was a possible mix-up, why didn't they call and ask before starting on the job when they say the wiring harness?
Anyway, then I ask "Ok, the initial hitch job was $75...let's go with that.  You then told me $50 to install the wiring harness.  That is $125.  Why was it an extra $25 when I came to pick it up?  The price changed 3 times."  His response was I should be happy I only paid $150 as U-Haul would have charged $300 and that he did me a favor.  That is bull.  Go right on the U-Haul website and you can input my car and model and it comes up with the price for the install.
Being this is not the first time they changed there price(actually it was every time I have dealt with them), I would caution anyone who uses them in the future.  F
