Capps Roofing

Here is a review giving both the good and the not so good. I would absolutely use them again. They do very nice work. I already plan on using them for a second roof that needs replacing. The Pros: they are extremely quick when they start the roof. They had my old roof torn off and new roof up with skylights and secondary water barrier within 3.5 days. They agreed to final payment once permit was closed and I was easily given a release of labor/materials lien. When there was a mistake made (I wanted hardiplank fascia they replaced it with regular wood) there was no way to replace it without removing the roof which would have been ridiculous. They instead have me a very generous offer and took off a sizeable portion of the cost. I was happy. When it looked like the roof I ordered wasn’t going to come in on time they offered to upgrade me to the next model without any additional cost to myself. The Not so Good: five roofing nails were left in my driveway that I found. There was tar on my new garage door (they did come and remove it when I called them) Some of my plants were squished but fortunately I was planning on removing them anyways so in the end it didn’t matter. Getting a hold of someone is not always the easiest and sometimes took two phone calls. Communication is probably the biggest not so good but when there were issues they were very responsive

Once the job was scheduled they came on time worked very fast did a great job cleaning up scheduled the inspections quickly did a great job on the roof. Not sure if they are the cheapest but great to work with and did a very good job.

Capps was fantastic! My old shingle roof was damaged in Hurricane Irma. Capps came out to quote the replacement within a few weeks of the storm. I also had several other reputable companies come out to quote the job. Capps was not the least or most expensive quote BUT they include gutter removal and replacement (~$1,000) AND repair of any damaged/rotten roof decking, fascia, trusses, etc. at no additional charge. Capps gave me an estimate of 8-12 weeks. They filed for the permit and received approval the next day. The project was started within 4 weeks of signing the contract. During the project, Capps found several sections of damaged roof deck, a split truss, and many many linear feet of rotten fascia and sub-fascia. Capps utilized a crew of over 5 workers for 14+ hours to replace the damage and they did all of this for no additional charge. Other companies charge $35 per man hour plus the cost of materials. If you want a responsive company that beats their schedule and does a job right without asking for additional money, go with Capps Roofing.

When Capp's came out they noticed an issue with the roof that would fall under the warranty and repaired the hurricane damage at no charge. We wanted to pay them because of the hurricane damage but the owner said it should have held up in the storm and we stand by our work. We thought this was above and beyond and we could not be more grateful. Our contractor was so impressed with their work he said he would not use anyone else.

Great. Got a brand new metal roof that looks amazing and is now better braced for hurricanes.

I ended up not using this company, but I found them very professional and friendly.

Construction can be stress full! Capps Roofing made it a great experience. I would definitely recommend them. A real class act company!

I called to get pricing and left a voice mail. They called back a few days later and said they be in touch w/in the next week to send someone out and I have not heard from them since.

It was good. They haven't done any work yet. We called them for an estimate and they were really good. They were on time and they responded and they sent the estimate really nicely. They were a little higher than the other one. They were really prompt and nice. So far I have had a good experience with them. I have only gotten 2 quotes so I am not sure on the price. We are waiting on our insurance so whatever the insurance chooses we will go with that.

The first company we contacted gave us a very high estimate. I then called Capps Roofing for a second estimate. Roy Capps was punctual, professional, friendly, courteous and just overall outstanding. He examined our chimney and said all we needed was the fire arrestor, not a full cap, and recommended a company that could do the work for a third of what it would cost if his company did it. We called that company and had the work performed satisfactorily. If we ever need roof work done we will call Capps Roofing first!!! They are fair, honest and just plain remarkable.

I had a good experience with them. I used Angie's List to narrow down to them. They did wonderful work and were competitively priced. It was good quality. They had a problem with one of the skylights that they put in, but they came back and put a new skylight in. They stood behind their company guarantees and they did the work on time. It took two days to complete the service.

Fantastic! Capps Roofing is a reliable, professional and pleasant company to deal with. Their crews always showed up on time and did fine work. My roof was completed on the planned schedule and I am very pleased. I certainly would, and did, recommend them to friends and family.

There have been no further leaks in a month.

First let me say that Mr. J. Blake Capps runs an awesome roofing company. From start to finish his team was professional, friendly, technically proficient, and punctual. They went above and beyond what was expected and provided a beautiful and sound roof! I do have to mention an issue that arose that calls out the professionalism, honesty and a true sense of customer service. Unfortunately, the project started when we had that week of steady rain a month or so back. After dry-in, there was a small leak in the base felt. I texted Roy, one of the project managers and he stated "someone will be right out", they were within an hour. What's amazing about it was it was a Sunday mid-morning and he had a painter come out and repair a small stain on the ceiling. Truly a company focused on customer service. I will and would recommend Capps Roofing to anyone requiring roofing services. 5 stars!!!

I read Angie's List reviews, got 3 quotes, and hired the company that I felt had the best reviews and best prices. Capps Roofing was a bit more expensive, I'll admit. The key, however, was that they said they would replace everything that needed to be, and Capps did exactly that. The job was done on time, and care was taken to cover the pool, clean up the debris and ensure the project was completed to our satisfaction. Rotted wood was replaced, gutters were replaced and all was covered with a fresh coat of paint. In fact, when it was discovered that a ceiling fan didn't work following the job, Blake Capps was very responsive and hired an excellent electrician to rewire and repair the problem. Great owner and great company. I couldn't recommend more highly.

Very responsive from the time of my first inquiry with Blake right though until the onsite survey and firm price quote. Woody performed the onsite survey and he was very informative and answered all my questions about the installation (liked this guy a lot!). Overall, Capp's did come across as a top notch Company and certainty was on my short list to select for our home re-reroof. However, ultimately I decided on a company with a longer history (since 1991) and track record specializing in only metal roof installations for a couple of reasons. First, my product preference was for a more premium product supplier such as from Englert that offered a resin based color coating (metallic copper) that provides a more aesthetic look and included a ~25+ year warranty backed by manufacturer. Research on Capp's source suppliers did not appear to offer a resin based color coating with multiple decade warranty. Capp's only quoted me for standard gavalume mill finish. Second, while their firm price quote was very comprehensive it was my opinion that they included unnecessary scope to replace my gutters that are only 2 1/2 years old and in excellent shape. They suggested in the quote it was highly recommended to fully inspect and replace any damaged fascia boards, but in my opinion this would be an unnecessary step. Additionally, the all inclusive quote of baking in replacement of any plywood or fascia board required at no additional cost with the unnecessary gutter replacements and in my opinion resulted in a much less competitive bid that they could have certainly improved on which is why I rated as a B. I chose not to follow-up with Blake to negotiate out the gutters and pay a-la carte for any wood replacement and extra related labor which I am sure they would have been happy to comply, but ultimately I chose the other Company which positioned their initial bid exactly to my expectations and desire that for me was a more competitive offfer.

I had a repair done by them a couple of years ago and they were great. But this time my experience was disappointing. I spoke to them 3-4 times and they promised me an estimate and I never got one. IT is possible that they are very busy but a no show 3 or 4-times is unacceptable.

After speaking with Mark Capps and explaining my issue, response was, we can start next week. My old roof was off and dried in by the very week I spoke to him. Completed and inspected by noon Monday. Professional and respectful owners and staff. Not a nail to be found! I highly recommend Capps for any of your roofing needs!

From the first personal visit to the completion of the job, they were thorough and professional. Their work included roof and gutter system replacement and was completed seamlessly, solidly and on schedule with minimum disruption. The owner, Blake Capps took a personal interest in all stages if the job, returned my emails and calls when I had questions and was very responsive throughout the process. The crew members supervised by Roy worked through heat and rain to finish. Their price was fair as the job was comprehensive and needed to be done before start of season. Their subcontractor, Ernesto, Gutters by TK, did a great job and returned at my request to correct a minor connection issue. I give them my highest recommendation.
