Description of Work: We’ve used them for a number of years to do a yearly inspection of a vacation home. They charge about $80 for the inspection and cleaning. I would recommend Watt’s to other people. Our air conditioning stopped working in May of one year and they came out right away with no problem!

Description of Work: Air Conditioner blowing warm. Service tech told me there were two capillary tubes that were rubbing together and caused a hole, through which all our refrigerant leaked out. He told us he was going to weld the hole then recharge the system with refrigerant. I asked him if he was sure this was the only issue, he said yes. He billed us $600.00 ($480 for refrigerant and $120 for work done). Once month later our air conditioner was again blowing warm, and ultimately froze up due the system having no refrigerant again. I brought in another company I have used before, and is reputable. They advised that the issue was in fact a rusted evaporator coil in the air handler. They took me outside and opened the condenser unit to show me that no welding had ever been done by the previous company. Two issues here. One, I believe I was lied to about the welding job, as there was clearly no evidence of fresh braising (a bye-product of welding on copper pipe). Second, there assessment of what was causing the leak was not accurate and therefore caused us to have to get this issue looked at by another company... and fixed. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

+ -1 moreAfter finding Watts on Angie's List, I called and spoke with Nigel who provided me with a quote on the cost of the compressor, including installation. Nigel did not try to sell me on a new unit or system like several other companies did. I scheduled the service and happened to be out-of-town and my wife was not home when the technician arrived. I am sorry but I don't remember the technicians name. He went ahead and installed the compressor and agreed to come back the next day to start everything up when I was home. The technician came back early the next day and fired everything up and got our house cool just in time. My system is 10 years old and several of the companies that I obtained quotes from were over $700 more for the cost of the compressor, or tried to sell me a new condensing unit. I also asked for quotes on just a new condensing unit but several told me they could not just replace the condensing unit, they would have to replace the entire system. Thank you Watts for being honest and professional. I will definitely call again and refer anyone who asks.

+ -1 moreThe technican showed up on time, actually a little early, and proceeded to diagnose the problem. He determined that the part which had failed was a capacitor that a previous company had installed when they installed a new fan motor. The part was not necessary so the technican removed it, re-ran the wiring as it should have been and in less than an hour the unit was up and running. All this on a Sunday morning without any additional charge. Had I called the previous company I am sure they would have charged me to replace a part I did not need.

The service representative diagnosed the problem, then reviewed the Model and SN and found that it was under warranty, order the part and replaced the unit on the second day. No hassle and very professional without any high sales tactics, just the requested work and all was fixed and working as expected. This company will be my go to for this kind of work from now on.

+ -1 moreI telephoned Watts at 6:30 in the evening to report a fault on my air conditioning and request an engineer for service. I was amazed when they called me back within 10 minutes to tell me an engineer would be with me before 9 pm. He in fact arrived at 8.30 pm and repaired the system to full operation within 30 mins. This is the third time I have used this company and every time their attendance has been prompt the work carried out professionally at a reasonable cost. I wold be happy to recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Service was excellent. Engineer was at my home to evaluate and repair air conditioning fault within 2 hours of telephoning for service.

Description of Work: I have a new house with a new prostar A/C unit that is a real piece of crap. I had an X13 Motor that burned up but still under warranty. This was in January of this year and it was cold and I needed my heat to work. With honest and quick response time Watt's Fixed this A/C Unit so my heat pump would work. Please use them if you live in Polk County you will not regret your choice.

+ -1 moreCalled Watts because there was no heat, technician arrived as scheduled and ran some tests and determined the condenser fan motor was bad. I showed him the warrantryand he called it in. After a short wait the new fan motor was installed.
Description of Work: Replaced fan motor and Watt's honored the part warranty that was not their warranty.

+ -1 moreThe estimator was stuck on replacing the "copper" and that was where the expense came from. The company that did the work removed the copper tubing and did not charge anything extra.
Description of Work: Requested an estimate to replace outside unit of my HVAC system, I was told the estimate was around $6000. I got the A/C; Furnace; and water heater replaced for under $4000 from another company.

Description of Work: The company was hired to replaced a burned air handler motor that another company burned. The communication with Watts Air Conditioning company was excellent. From the first call the staff really showed their concerned when I explained my situation. The took the information about the serial number of the unit and other particulars and within 2 days I have the part ready to install. The day of the install the new motor came defective, but Joe, the installer, installed a motor until they received another motor for my a/c. Overall the service experience was above and beyond. I will recommend to all my friends and neighbors this company.

+ -1 moreOverall the job was done to our requirements ie time, and was completed as described by the rep. No surprises. No outrageous claims were made on electrical bill savings. The rep said this unit would be quieter, it is, more efficient, it is. We could not be more pleased with our experience.
Description of Work: Our 1985 heat pump finally gave up. We called Watts for an estimate. Their prices were in the same range as others. The Watts rep went through our present system to see if any other repairs were needed, ie duct work, electrical service. We spent over 2 hours asking questions and comparing models. The rep was honest and direct on the quality of each brand. We required installation asap and the rep called scheduling and had it scheduled within three days. Installation took less than one day. The installers were polite and cleaned up very well after the job was done. Highly recommended.

+ -1 moreThings didn't go so well. I got somebody else to look at the system, and they said that the whole system should have just been replaced, instead of just fixing the cord. I wouldn't recommend them. They had to come out three times to do it right.

+ -1 moreThey were professional and prompt, and were very good at their work. They didn't give me a hard time because I had put the system in myself. The person I dealt with was Nigel and he came out and looked at the system. There is a narrow closet that the system goes into, and there weren't a lot of new systems that could get in there. So Nigel researched and came up with a system that would fit in there, and which was priced well. They gave me a good price and took care of the job.
Description of Work: I did the work on the air conditioning myself but I couldn't put the refrigerant in because you need a license to buy that kind of stuff now. So I got Charles M. Watts Air Conditioning to do that for me. They also purged the old lines and cleaned it out.
