Getting the grill delievered was like pulling teeth. The first delv. date came and went without even a phone call after I had called in the morning to confirm the delv. When I called them the next day, the answer was the were too busy. The next delv. date didn't happen either, but at least a call this time. than nothing. I finally went up there and asked what the plan was? They didn't have one. So we set a date another week later and I went with my own trailer and picked up the bbq grill. They did have a crew follow me home and help unload and place the grill. All of this took three full weeks to complete from payment to delv.
Description of Work: We bought a floor model large and expensive bbq grill from them. The price was good because it was a display model.

This was part of a major house remodel and Sawyer Gas was the worst contractor by far. Stay away from these guys. - Sawyer Gas did not inform me that there was an option to buy or rent the buried gas tank. Their initial quote of course was for a rented tank. I did a little research and found out that you are obligated to purchase their gas forever if you lease a tank from them. I contacted them and asked if I could purchase the tank instead and they said yes (it wasn't that much more expensive). That is sneaky. They should have discussed that option up front. I informed the owner and she acted appalled and said that should not have happened. - I wanted to convert the house to tankless gas water heaters and they sold these and included them in the quote. By code, they have to run the gas lines and connect them anyway. I did some research and found that Sawyer Gas's price on the water heaters was fair. Sawyer gas did not inform me what was involved to install a gas tankless water heater to code. It is NOT trivial. These units require special venting as well as electricity run to the location for the igniters. The cost of installation is about 2.5x the cost of the water heater. Sawyer Gas mentioned NONE of these costs with me. Again, I think this is sneaky and I also informed the owner of this poor practice. - Sawer Gas was extremely difficult to get in contact with, did not work well with the General Contractor, would not show up when they were scheduled and would drop by the job site un-announced. - Sawyer Gas did not pull the proper permits for the job (they quoted that they would). GC discovered and corrected. - Sawyer Gas severed the main water line feeding the water sprinker system. They capped and buried the pipe and did not inform anyone. - Sawer Gas severed phone, cable and water sprinkler solenoid lines and did not inform anyone (GC discovered). - Sawyer Gas installed one of the water heaters about 10 ft off the ground in the garage?? I'm guessing to save on venting and plumbing costs. I sent pictures to owner who again acted appalled yet nothing happened. - Sawyer Gas was supposed to take away a large propane tank. Never did. - Sawyer Gas never went through the details of operation of the equipment with me...promised they would and never returned. - Notified owner of issues and she acted appalled at each issue. Said she would follow up and come to site. Never did. - I withheld payment for a few months and every month they added a $36.00 late fee. - Sprinkler company noted that grounding wire to in-ground tank is severed so tank may not be grounded properly. Also a green cover (indicating water meter location) was used rather than the industry standard blue denoting gas. Plumber thought that was odd. - I gave up

This has to be the most horrible company to try and work with! I am appalled that they manage to stay in business. The reason we went with Sawyer Gas in Green Cove Springs is because the previous owners of house used them. The house had a buried gas tank and the previous owners had to get them to come and fill in the tank because it wasn't being used and was antiquated. This was done before we purchased the home. Also, the house is equipped with a gas log fireplace, but the previous owners never used them. So, the previous owners (as part of the purchase agreement) had to get new gas tanks installed so the Home Inspector could light them to assure they were in working order. We agreed to pay for the gas, but not the installation. Well, Sawyer could NEVER get the name of the responsible party correct on the bills or account - even after we set up our own account! No matter how many times we called and they asked for our address, they kept saying the previous owner's name! We told them time and time again... NO, they sold the house to US! We never received a bill and kept calling to find out why we hadn't. Were told that we would be billed for the gas once their technician came out to inspect the logs and make sure all was in working order. Well, finally we got technician out and he could not get logs lit. Funny that the Home Inspector could, but he couldn't. Said we needed a Thermal Coupling assembly. We specifically told him to check with the office and have them call us with a quote on how much the part(s) would cost plus labor. Waited. Waited. Crickets. Almost 3 weeks later, I called them to find out why we had not received a quote. Penny said she would check on it and call me back. Again, waited. Waited. Had to call her back after about 4 hours. Said she was still checking to see if part had been ordered. FOUR HOURS! After much frustration with them, finally gave up and told them to come and pick up their tanks as we were going to use another company. No one came. I called back and spoke to Betty. She asked for our address. SAME THING.... said "Oh is this Mrs. ____?" She gave the PREVIOUS owner's name AGAIN! NO! Told them to pick up their tanks! My husband finally called and Betty said it would be after Thanksgiving before they could get them! Well, they did manage to get here before Thanksgiving and the technician removed the tanks without as much as ringing the doorbell to tell me he was there to pick them up!!! Didn't leave a pick up receipt or anything! Just drove off. They are so unprofessional it isn't even funny! Amazing they stay in business. They keep this sort of thing up and they will certainly drive themselves out of business quickly.
