"We're very sorry you had a negative experience with your home renovation project. We try very hard to provide a great experience and a beautiful product. We must have failed to set realistic expectations at the time you signed the contract because the stated project duration of 3 weeks would start when we mobilized, not at the time of signing. We typically wait to start a project until we have all the materials in-hand because it leads to a faster and more enjoyable experience. That accounts for some of the wait time, but you also added another bathroom (from one to two) mid-project, which certainly extended the construction time. Our contract states working hours between 8 AM and 5 PM so there's no misunderstanding of what constitutes overtime or nighttime and weekend work (which carries a higher labor cost). Our crews arrived on-site at approximately 9:30 AM each working day because you asked us to, since, in your words, you like to sleep in. Our typical workday starts at 8 AM. We had the misfortune of receiving shipments of tile in which multiple boxes contained entirely broken tile fragments and not a single intact piece. Unfortunately, we had to order replacement product which halted construction until it's arrival. We believed we adequately communicated the issue, but if not we apologize for the miscommunication and will avoid that mistake in the future. We apologize for the defects in the paint in your bathroom. Everyone commented during the punch walk about the low-light conditions in the bathroom and we have learned we need to keep work lights in the tool trailer at all times to avoid issues like this in the future. We will gladly correct any deficiencies that still exist. It is our goal to exceed expectations in regards to professionalism and personal conduct. We're very sorry one of our employees took a smoke break near your home's entrance. That employee is no longer with us and we are working internally to ensure that doesn't happen again. We're not sure exactly what went wrong with the corrections after the punch walk but we'd gladly fix any remaining issues. It's somewhat confusing because we received an email from you with glowing remarks about the corrective work our employee just completed. I'm not sure what could have happened after that, since we didn't return to do anything else. In the end, we want every homeowner and client to be overjoyed with their project. We would welcome an opportunity to make things right. Best Regards, Rob Edmunds Sterling Builders Group, LLC."
