Rentals - Trucks
Difficult to reach them by phone--long hold times.
They overcharged the miles driven.
The truck's diesel tank registered full but the fuel gauge didn't go to the full mark. We returned the truck with the fuel mark in the same place as it was when we rented the truck (the pump shut itself off when we were filling it). We were then charged $7 per gallon for 3 gallons of fuel.
K. Gentilecore gave me a Triple A discount but that was wiped out by the horrendous charge of the extra diesel fuel.
I think this is a scam.
They didn't provide a final bill so I had to call to tell them to get an explanation of the higher charges that appeared on my credit card statement. She reimbursed the overage in miles ($5.39).
DO check the fuel gauge before driving off the lot and get it in writing if doesn't register completely full! The old adage "let the buyer beware" is certainly appropriate here.
