They are good people. We adopted two cats from here, and we bring them in for maintenance.

The technicians are nice and the vets are good. The problem is that the vets are not available when you need them. For example, I brought my dog in this morning just to have a recheck from a small surgery. We came home and she came down with diarrhea. Perhaps just a coincidence, but she did not have diarrhea before. Then when I called and tried to get help I was told no vet was available.

Have taken both of our cats to Dr. McCollough and staff for 2 years since we moved to the Haile area. Very convenient location for us and service, attention to detail is top notch. We had our former vet for over 30 years before we moved and were concerned when we shopped around for a new one but we couldn't be happier with Haile Animal Clinic.

Be sure you get an exact quote before you go.
The pound would have done it for $25.
Response from Haile Plantation Animal Clinic

"I am very sorry for the negative experience you had at such a stressful and sorrow time. Our associates have changed so I am not able to explain the $45 fee. In general the only time we charge a $45 exam fee is if the client is not sure on their decision and would like an exam first to assess quality of life. We do not place pick lines ever. However, we do place intravenous catheters in every patient. We do this because if the solution is to go outside of the vein it is very uncomfortable for the pet. We like to give every patient a sedative because we want them to be as comfortable and anxious free as possible. We also want it to be a good experience for the owner as well and the sedative prevents any potential side effects from the euthasol. We make every effort to be as empathetic as possible while taking into account financial concerns for every procedure or service we perform."

We left this vet, never to return, and eventually paid the entire cost of the heart worms treatment ourselves. The Vet who owns this particular establishment is a fine woman who is in way over her head. The staff of the rescue element is volunteers and they run it like their own fiefdom. I do believe that she is afraid to be any kind of a leader because she would be unable to run that aspect of the establishment without them and finding replacements would be a long and difficult process she is not willing to undertake. I respect her ability as a Vet, and she is herself a very caring person. I just would not deal with the pet rescue unit they support until some management changes were accomplished within the volunteer staff.

Dr. Linda McCollough is the vet we use there. She is an incredibly wonderful vet. I have been to 3 vets earlier and when I found her I stuck to her. I spent $80 for some diagnostics for my cat. The services are A+. All my pets have gone there. The vaccinations are probable the lowest cost in the county. They do everything. They love my animals and suggest tests for my pets and I must be strong enough to say no. The vet is one of the most compassionate vet I have ever encountered.
