The screen was frozen on my MacBookPro. So, I looked for a Mac technician service online and came up with Techzilla. In hindsight, I do not think they really are an Apple company, and I think they scammed me - gave me minimal help for what I paid. The first person I talked to got my name and type of computer by phone. He said he would run a "diagonostic," which I foolishly believed was possible without a remote connection activated, and he told me there was a lot of corrupt data on my system. He said Techzilla could fix it, but I was required to spend money on a one-year service contract first. That should have been my first clue, and I should have terminated the transaction. Do not pay them any money! They even offer a rebate, but of course the rebate never came. Next, they sent me to a "technician" who began a remote session. He got me partway through "solving" the problem before informing me that I had to spend more money to buy a software package that goes along with the service contract. Fool that I am, I went along and spent even more money - they get you by hitting you up while they are in the middle of "fixing" the problem" and offering more rebates. They ran a virus/spyware program and found - nothing. Of course they didn't. The "fix" was simply to hold down the on/off button for a few seconds. Now I am worried that they not only bilked me, but they actually downloaded their own spyware onto my system. Please learn from my foolishness and do not do business with this company. I am pretty sure they scammed me, and even though I did get a few "services," they were things I could have done myself. The time on the phone was one hour and some thirty odd minutes, which I'm sure will also increase my phone bill. Oh, and I get a "free" flashdrive that I later found itemized for $24.00 plus shipping and handling.
Description of Work: Lured me into buying a package of services I didn't need before revealing a simple fix for my computer's frozen screen.
