Since 1995 Eric and Mindy Peterson have been in the aluminum, screen and hurricane shutter industry. In 2005, they founded The Screen Doctor of Lee County, Inc. to serve customers in the Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Estero, Bonita Springs and Naples, FL area. The company believes in helping homeowners enjoy their living space by providing products and services that maximize a homeowner’s indoor and outdoor environments.

"Thank you for your thorough review. It is never an easy situation when a hurricane devastates an area to the point where some are still awaiting repairs 18+ months later. I would like to address your review points. First, from the moment of the initial phone call we are very transparent with our potential customers about our lead times. We provide those lead times prior to even taking customer information to set up any estimates or give pricing. When the estimate is scheduled, we send a confirmation email reiterating our timeframes in writing. Upon sending the proposal after the free onsite estimate, the lead times are stated once again in writing in the proposal email. We appreciate you entrusting us to do the work given the multiple notifications of our lead times. To address your concerns about the number of times we visited your home, it was our estimator who first measured. Upon installation, we learned that our estimator measured your screens incorrectly and the installer had another installer the same day, while on Sanibel, verify his measurements. We then remedied our mistake within ONE (1) week. There were not 7 separate visits to your home. Only three on 9/18/23 (estimate), 4/5/24 (initial installation and verify new measurements) and 4/12/24 (corrected installation). We thank you for choosing our company when we know there are others to choose from possibly for a lesser cost. To address the surcharge, it is clearly stated in our contract terms (signed by you when you awarded the work) as follows, "Prices are subject to change after 15 days and subject to surcharge(s) prior to final invoice." Following our terms of "prior to final invoice" we emailed you on 1/25/2024 a notice of the surcharge explaining our reason for the surcharge. "Due to unforeseen travel delays on and off Sanibel & Captiva Islands, our installers are spending more than double the amount of travel time that wasn’t considered in your original proposal. Effective immediately, we implemented a surcharge for additional travel fees. We have attached a revised proposal for the change order in the amount of $150.00 to compensate for the additional travel fees. This surcharge will be reflected on your final invoice. No payment is due currently." Yesterday, during our call, I offered to send you a copy of the email and sent receipt, but you refused. The final bill was nothing more than the original total and the $150.00 surcharge that we were transparent and forth-coming about. In no way do I feel I was patronizing. Your voice was elevated, and you kept stating that you couldn't find all the verbiage that are in our emails or on our proposals. I simply directed you to this information and again you refused to have us resend. While we seem to have not met your expectations for this work, we do feel were more than open and honest during all our communications and written documentation. We have been in business for 29 years and feel that we have always put our considerate customers concerns and questions at the forefront of our operations. All we can do is apologize that you feel you were misinformed but stand behind our communication with you."

"Thank you for your kind and honest review. Yes, the remote was broken AND something went wrong with the motor/tube inside the housing. After learning that the wires were caught in the tube and twisted, pushing the motor out of the bracket, we knew exactly what to do. We received over 3,500 requests for storm damage and returned 99% of all calls and emails that came in to our office. I cannot say we didn't miss any, but certainly tried our best. Hurricane Irma on 9-10-17 put a damper on the entire service industry for Lee County that included an abundance of work. However, we are proud of the reputation we have in Lee County for the past 23 years and were very thankful to those who were patient while we returned calls and emails, and serviced everyone that waited for our excellent service.
