WARNING this company COOLAIR CONDITIONING INC BEWARE!! Do your upmost homework before hiring them. It's been the most unpleasant, unprofessional, and very disrespectful company, we have ever encountered with. We were doing a big electrical and mechanical project on our metal building. the project was not going to be cheap. we gave a large amount of money to start project. We requested a written contract verbally and by e-mail. we were ignored the whole time. They DID NOT want to provide us a written contract with our rights and obligations after asking for it numerous times. The job lingered for almost 2 months. They delayed the job, delayed pulling permits, failed inspections, mistakes on meter main & many many mistakes with the project etc... It's been a horrible experiance and we want YOU to know. RED FLAG ..Lets NOT mention the management Kevin & owners ( Mark) were fabricating evil lies. they have verbally abused the clients with their pathological lies with no evidence to support them ( see reviews BBB ). they were disrespectful to us at all times when questioning for things that we have the right to receive. They need to STOP thinking they can mistreat the hardworking, the elderly, the people and we what you to be aware. Not only did this happen, they placed an UNLAWFUL lien on our property. In all my years we have never had a company put a lien on us as we are excellent in paying. CoolAir will have to explain their unlawful lien with higher authority. We will do all possible for friends, neighbors and all people not to go through what we went through. COOLAIR will come back at these reviews with their pathological lies to manipulate the truth, but trust us we have much to prove the truth high above. We are in search of All those people who have suffered with this company and had to ditch out more money due to their unprofessionalism, Lies, bad workmanship, verbal abuse etc .... to contact us. we want to hear your story! 239 601-7138

Contractors did not show up with all the necessary equipment ( 2015) and we had to wait an hour for one person to bring item. Then mastic tape was not properly installed and was coming off air handler. They had to come back and repair in order to get a pass fron building inspector. They had to also return 2 times to properly program thermostat as it was not working. Sold us their bi annual performance plan and we took it to get warranty on the unit. Several fails on their part to note problems under this plan and also to keep appointments booked. No show for one. I do NOT recommend.

"We are very sorry that Mrs. [Member Name Removed] has had problems with our company in the past. Mrs. Knights complaint indicates her problems were in July of 2012, we purchased CoolAir January 15th 2013 and we are no longer the same contractor, please refer to our license # CAC1817534. We are however willing to try to satisfy you. Please contact us and ask for Mark the Owner and I will personally address whatever issues you have. 239-275-7077"

We got ripped off they charged us 750.00 to clean our Ac duct work. They had two unlicensed employees. They could only clean about two foot of the duct work at each drop. They installed a electrical component in our Ac without a license.DO NOT HIRE THEM FOR ANY JOBS YOU MAY HAVE.They worked with the home inspector to rip us off'!!
Response from Cool Air

"I am sorry you did not have a positive experience. The technician who sold and performed your inspection is indeed a certified, licensed inspector. You can check him out on his website. He has performed services for many of our customers and I have yet (until this one incident) heard of anyone not completely satisfied. I do not see a followup in your file which would indicate any dissatisfaction. Our records show that the duct cleaning was done efficiently, all 12 supplies and 1 return; the system was sanitized; each grill was cleaned and each drop sanitized and an ultraviolet light system was installed. We would be very happy to discuss this project with you."

BE CAREFUL - The tech showed up and did very little to check on things.  The fan motor had stopped working and the unit was freezing up.  The tech said it was a bad motor and it would cost $540.00 to fix, but he offered the service for 450.00.  Something didn't feel right, so got another opinion the next morning.  The new company fixed the issue with a $40.00 part.  The new company did a complete check on everything.. Called Coolair to tell them, but they didn't care.  Asked to have my service fee refunded since they did such a terrible job of finding the problem or were they just trying to overcharge, no luck.

"Thank you for your honest assessment and constructive comments. You should NEVER have to make a request more than once. I am not sure what happened then, but please know that we take your comments very seriously. Since the new owner lineup in January 2013, we have made so many improvements and customer service is at the very top of our list. Thank you for your patience and allow us to prove to you our dedication to your satisfaction!"

On 10/5/2012, two technicians from CoolAir performed scheduled preventive maintenance on my HVAC system.  As a result, they informed me that there was a lot of rust and corrosion on the unit and that it needed to be replaced soon.  The unit was 12 years old, so I agreed to have a new unit installed.   The technician recommended a 3.5 ton, 13.5 SEER high efficiency unit and said they could do the installation the following day. I wrote them a check for half the quoted price.  On 10/6/2012, one of the original technicians and a new guy showed up and installed the unit, and said I would receive a bill for the balance.  The following morning I entered my garage to find water all over the floor and my car which was parked under the new unit.  The drip pan had not been installed properly so they had to come back out to correct that.  I received a call the next day demanding the balance of the bill be paid immediately, stating the technician should have collected at the time of installation.  I thought the tone of the call was unprofessional, but put a check in the mail that day for the balance.  On 2/17/2013 I turned on the heat because the weather had turned cool.  About 15 minutes later, I heard a loud noise from the garage area that sounded like a large truck idleing and it created a vibration in the wall.  I called CoolAir and a technician came out the next day.   He stated that he thought the pressure in the ducts was too high and that someone from CoolAir who had experience in this area would come out to determine the problem and remedy.  Two days later someone came and determined that the ducts were too small to accommodate the new unit and that new ducts needed to be installed at an estimated cost to me of $1500 - $2000.  As it turns out, this was one of the technicians who had installed the unit in October.  I questioned him as to why I was not informed before installation that I needed larger ducts and that it would cost an additional $2000 in order for the unit to work correctly.  He had no answer and showed no concern for the position I was now in.  I had another company come out and they verified that the static pressure in the ducts was twice what it should be and larger ducts were needed to accommodate the unit and that if the work wasn't done, the new unit would last about half as long as it should.  I called CoolAir and asked to speak to the owner and was told he was out of town.  I explained my situation and was told the owner would call me when he returned the next day.  I never received a call back.  I hired another company to install new ducts.  I would never recommend CoolAir to anyone.

Response from Cool Air

"I have looked back at our notes in your file. Our records show that you were happy with your install. This transaction actually happened before the new Owners took over in January 2013. The records further show that there were no checks involved. Both payments were made by different credit cards. There is no record discussing duct work, however there is a certificate showing the inspection passed with 100% satisfaction by the county code inspector. Notes from 1/30/13 indicate that all issues had been corrected and specifically states that the wife was happy. If there were additional issues that we are not aware of, we would gladly discuss those. We deeply regret any frustration."

Have used this company for 4 years, but the last year of scheduling has become a nightmare. Had an appt for Mon for 2-4, tech didn't show up, when I called - I was told the tech was on his way.  Tech called at 5 and could be there until after 5:30 - I said no thanks. Rescheduled for the next day, it was raining so the tech canceled, he scheduled for the next day - no show. I called and was told I wasn't on the schedule, so we rescheduled for Friday between 1-3, the tech showed up at 11 AM.  We will not be using Cool Air - too many choices to be treated like this.
Response from Cool Air

"I am so sorry for the disappointment during that period of time. There is never an excuse for poor customer service. The operations Owner at that time was experiencing traumatic family medical issues and transitioned out of the company. New ownership took over in January of 2013 and we have made every effort to make sure our customers are happy and serviced at all hours. It would be great if you would call one of the new Owners and check us out again. We deliver on promises."

They installed the whole thing and I have loved it.  I also hired them for another job and they did a nice job on that too.  They cleaned the duct work and put in another air return in our bedroom.  They are honest and I would use them again.
Response from Cool Air

"PERFECT!"
