Contracted to install mortar underneath tile roof to channel water.  Used adhesive instead of mortar to reinstall tiles and destroyed 25 feet of gutter.  Pathetic attempt to repair gutter damage.  Inconsistent quality on many assignments on my roof.
Response from Lyons Roofing Inc

"Thank you for mentioning you would use us again, I see we gave you a proposal for tile correction on 2016. We have been doing work for you since 2003 and are surprised by this review. I reviewed you file and did not see any contact to our office regarding your concerns on the $600 repair that was for installing mortar under rake tiles and fascia (there was a note on the contract that mentioned will use due care if gutters needed to be disconnected). We prioritize any requests or concerns for possible warranty work and work that may not meet you expectations. We stand by our workmanship and will correct if able and is correctly done so. We do hope you reconsider your review considering how much work we have done for you in the past Mr. [Member Name Removed] and thank you for being a continued customer.y"

I recently purchased a new home and the inspection company hired Lyons Roofing to conduct the roof portion of the inspection. In the report I was given, it was noted that the roof contained nine broken tiles, four loose tiles, three areas of rotted fascia, and one leak. I was provided with a quote for $1,200 to repair this damage. I opted to obtain a second opinion. The individual doing the second inspection advised me that he only noted the damaged fascia and it was nothing serious, but something to keep an eye on. Confused by two entirely different inspection reports, I called a third roofing company out and they agreed with the second roofing inspection completely. I was thankful that I went ahead and got the two additional inspections rather than kicking myself for having $1,200 of unnecessary, unneeded work performed. Additionally, before I obtained the two additional quotes, I had inquired into Lyons Roofing about their pricing for roof pressure washing and I was given a quote for $1,100 which I think everyone would agree is absolutely absurd. Overall, I did not use this company and would not recommend them.

Our experience with Lyons roofing was excellent.  Jack Lyons is very knowledgeable and was always available to discuss our job.  They paid attention to little details like painting the roof vents and plumbing stacks white to match the roof.

I contracted an inspection for a house I am buying. The inspection company sent Lyon to perform the roof inspection. Lyon determined that the flat roof on the house needed to be replaced in its entirety and gave a quote of $20,000. We went back to the buyers and they said that was impossible since the house had a new roof done 5 years ago. We called the inspection company and complain, they sent Lyon back to the house and they came back saying that the roof was 5 years old and needed some maintenance work for $3000. No one should trust them, they just want roof contracts. They jeopardized my mortgage process.
Response from Lyons Roofing Inc

"Lyons roofing will always strive to give the most accurate true roof report to the best of our ability. In our harsh climate here in Florida our weather conditions wreak havoc on roof systems due to the tropical environment. This makes correctly giving exact age of existing roof systems difficult with out having permit information. We apologize for giving the incorrect approximate age of the existing system, but we do agree with the inspectors findings and condition of the existing system showing the amount of deficiencies visible, and numerous previous repairs on the existing roof system of age (6) years. We now have a system that helps us pull permits to more accurately identify the age of a roof system when performing our inspections and have performed thousands here in the Tri County area with accurate results."

Lyons estimated the job and repaired it 9 days later.  This was immediately after the heavy rains from Tropical Storm Issac and they were backed up.  No other roofer would promise to get to the job any sooner.  I'd used Lyons in the past so we went with them.  They showed up on time on the day promised.  They sent two guys that worked on the job the entire day.  Two other guys joined them late in the day to get it finished on time.  I was amazed at the amount of work that was required to effect this repair.
The repair was completed on time and looks great.  I was especially impressed with the quality of the cleanup and the care they took to protect our home and belongings.  Every Lyons employee we dealt with was exceptionally courteous and professional.  Even thought the job was more involved than they estimated, they did not charge me any extra.  The job was completed on time and for the estimated price.  We also got a two year guarantee on the work.

BAD BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!
I STARTED getting a quote with this company  first or second week of 06/12  a neighbor also told me they were good. When I called them I asked to please provide me a quote for a roof leak in my bedroom that was getting straight to my baby crib. A representative called " Alex" showed up on 06/25/12 I explain the situation with the roof and this kind gentleman gave me quote for $1200, I found it very expensive but I were in necessity of this service because it was affecting my baby crib and my bedroom was getting wet constantly.

I called their representative to explain the situation and I ask if they could accommodate a better price for me in order to afford to pay them. She said she will ask the owner and she will give me a call back. a week pass by and she never called me back. Then I called then again since ALEX gave me a good impression of the company. Jackie told me that they had being so busy and that they will call me as soon as they are available to work in my roof. I patiently wait for two o three more weeks. I never received a respond but I hear that fixing roof in this area can take some time. For last time I called to this company on August to ask if they are going to fix or not the roof and she said that I suppose to send her back the estimate signed by me. I asked her if I am going to get any discount in order to afford to pay them and Jackie told me that when the guys come to see again the roof the owner will give another look at the damage and see what he can do for me. She told me to go ahead sign the estimate and e-mail her back so I sign those documents in good faith I scanned and sent it to her back on 08/08/12 JACKIE also said that she will call me as soon as they are available to come to my home.
I wait a couple more weeks, my baby got sick with a bronchitis and  a tropical storm ISAAC came and the damage was getting bigger!!! so I called other companies to get other estimates and see who can fix the leak in my roof. same time a guy from Lyons roofing came to give a look and told me that they may fix that in a couple days, since they had told me same story before
for months I did go ahead and called EARL W. JOHNSTON ROOFING who came intermediately very nice people got me an estimate very professional and quick response. so I hire them to fix the damage. my home was under construction a lot people was working on it so I saw some people fixing the roof SO I THOUGHT WAS JOHNSTON ROOFING I was wondering how they got in my place since I haven't received any notice form the gate to be opened and let them in.
i found in my phone JUST ONE particular voice mail on September 01, 2012 form LYONS ROOFING it was from ALEX regards if I have any question about the quote and the problem of the roofing. SINCE i HIRE ANOTHER COMPANY I DISREGARD THE VOICEMAIL. well to make this short bad experience LYONS ROOFING COMPANY CAME WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION TO GET IN THE GATE, FIX THE ROOF WITHOUT EVEN LET ME KNOW AND GAVE ME A BILL TO PAY THEM RIGHT AWAY. I told to the guy kindly  that I may pay with credit card but I need to speak to the owner about it. I asked my husband to take care of this business while I was in the phone with other people as well and cancel my business with the company I wanted to work with.
END OF THIS STORY
I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE "OWNER" FINALLY HE DIDN'T CARE ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME THAT HE DIDNT BELIEVE THOSE THINGS HAPPENED OR WERE TOLD TO ME BY HIS JACKIE AND I HAVE TO PAY HIM BECAUSE THEY FIX THE DAMAGE FOR LESS THAT THEY SUPPOSE TO! THAT I SHOULD BE CHARGE MORE FOR THAT REPAIR THAT I SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM! AND IN TOP OF EVERYTHING I WAS INSULTED IN THE PHONE BY THE OWNER LIKE I WAS RUNNING OR REFUSING FROM PAYING THEM. MY HUSBAND LISTENED THE WHOLE CONVERSATION AND WHEN HE CONFRONTED HIM AND TRIED TO HANDLE THIS , HE DENY OF INSULTING ME IN THE PHONE. I ASKED MY HUSBAND TO LET IT GO AND PAY WHAT HE WANTS EVEN I COULD CALL MY ATTORNEY AND FIX THIS SITUATION IN THE WAY THAT SUPPOSE TO!! I WON'T WASTE MY TIME AND MY PEACE WITH MY FAMILY FOR THIS INCONVENIENT AND INTRUSIVE COMPANY.   note: his job in the contract that his assistance advices to "GO AHEAD AND SIGN"  says two years warranty if I have any kind of trouble I won't hesitate to call my attorney to take care of that for me BECAUSE THIS EXPERIENCE WON'T HAPPEN WITH THEM AGAIN.
Response from Lyons Roofing Inc

"When the estimate was given to the homeowner by our estimator, Alex, the day of the appointment he told you, Member, after reviewing and explaining the contract if you wanted to accept the proposal, just sign and email, mail, or fax to our office. Member was calling to get cheaper quote which, Jackie, replied only the owner or estimator could lower prices and would give us the message. I do apologize for the delay in a call back, but we were extremely busy with the record rainfall. We try to get to all of our customers in a timely manner. After looking at the proposal we could not give a better price and the price would stay the same. Jackie told you to sign and send in the proposal if you wanted to accept, which you did, and you also put a date of work to be done 9/6/12, which we had a crew there that day, but unfortunately it was raining and the repair could not be done, which then the repairman spoke to you and said they would be back once the weather permitted. Unfortunately next day rain also. The Crew came back the next day to do another repair in your neighborhood, is how we got access, which we already had your approval the day before. The message you disregarded was us telling you that we were doing the work tomorrow with good weather which we were able to do. As to hiring another roofer, why when you spoke to our repairman (2) days prior to work being done. We, at Lyons Roofing Inc. Take pride in giving our customers the best service, warranty, and the best price possible for a quality job; which we have hundreds of happy customers for our services above and beyond. Thank You Jack B. Lyons"

On June 15, 2012 buyers had a home inspeciton as required for the sale of my house. Lyons Roofing performed the roof inspection and found wood rot in the fascia boards and a split seal at the gutter corner seams (cost $750.) Really! Were these items not visible when J Lyons was on the roof 2 months earlier?
Lyons Roofing explanation - "They charge for roof inspections and I didn't pay for an inspection".  I don't go on the roof, I don't know what needs fixing on the roof. If I call a roofer and ask him to check out my roof and he goes on the roof I expect a list of the problems that exist. I expect a complete and professional estimate. If an estimate costs money let me know, but do a complete estimate.
When J Lyons returned my call he was defensive, rude and extremely unprofessional - he asked me what I was accusing him of and hung up the phone. I definitely would not recommend this company.
Response from Lyons Roofing Inc

"We do apologize Ms. [Member Name Removed], if we are called out for a broken tile estimate that is all we are looking for. If we see rotten fascia or any other deficiencies we will let our homeowners know during that visit. However, if you wanted a list of any and all deficiencies we would of had to perform a full inspection of the roof and the attic which would be a fee since they are spending time going corner to corner of the roof inside attic and out. We always advise when selling that you seek an inspection report to find out all deficiencies with the roof before a possible buyer does their own full inspection, which again is different than a free estimate for an area of concern."

I had used them over a period of years.  We had a shingle roof that they were putting on "roof guard", a mildew protection product and they were charging me 550.00 and 6 months later, paid them for a reapplication. What they had been doing had been doing nothing but harm at outrageous prices.  When I had some else come out, I find out Lyon's didn't get to the root of the problem, just covered it up.  Mildew in my daughter's room for 10 years.
Response from Lyons Roofing Inc

"Ms.[Member Name Removed] the fungicide that was sprayed on your roof is not meant to protect the interior of the home from leaks. The contract that was signed does not mention anything about preventing leaks. A leaking roof would be the only reason mold can become a problem. After reviewing your file, we have been fixing leaks and servicing your roof since 2007. The fungicide is to keep the exterior of the roof system clean since you can not pressure clean a shingle roof with out damaging it. Seems as if you had an unnoticed long time leak that after looking at your file was never mentioned to us nor was an inspection on the roof performed that may have caught that. Unless the attic is inspected or a ceiling stain is noticed "from the inside" we can not detect a leak unless the roof system is opened up, or again attic access. We hope you will consider your review."

I called Lyons Roofing and requested an estimate. My call was returned the next day, and Jack Lyons came out promptly. He did a full inspection of the roof, both in the attic and outside, to determine the source of the leak, and to make sure that there weren't any other areas of concern. He gave me a written estimate, and we decided to move forward. I was impressed with how professional he was, and with his explanation of the problem. We scheduled the service and I was very satisfied.

We used Lyons Roofing to fix 5 leaks plus some cracked tile in the home we recently purchased. The estimate they gave was a couple hundred less than other estimates we received. The job took 2 days to complete and each time they were very professional and punctual. I would definitely use Lyons Roofing in the future.
