CITY FURNITURE

Description of Work: My wife an I had a rather negative experience with this company and its sales representative. We initially viewed their bedroom furniture selections in early June 2012, and even though we knew the construction quality of their merchandise overall, and in general terms, was lacking, we saw a bedroom set we liked because of its appearance and reasonable price. Because the bedroom set was intended for a second home that we do not spend too much time in, we decided to place a deposit on the set and an open ended delivery date approximately 3 months in the future. We subsequently decided to purchase an additional item for the set and returned to the store in late July 2012. The same salesman, Matt, in both June and July took our order without informing us that the set had been discontinued by the manufacturer and that City Furniture did not carry any in stock inventory of the set either. For some reason during our July visitation I grew suspicious of Matt's behavior and asked to speak with the store manager. The manager was of course "in a meeting and unavailable". How convenient. However, after speaking to another sales person my wife and I learned that my suspicions about Matt were correct and that the bedroom set we were interested in was discontinued. The experience in general was ridiculous, and the salesman from the beginning should have simply told us the truth without reservation. Why he lied to us is a mystery because to take our order for a discontinued item was totally unnecessary, unwarranted, and a waste of our time and his.

Description of Work: We shopped for a leather sectional and a dining room set.
