"I repair recliners, almost daily. I told this customer there is an inherent problem with ELECTRIC RECLINERS. It is usually not the motor that breaks on electric recliners. Upon examining the customer'[Member Information Removed] recliner, I found the control button and transformer to be burned out. I replaced these 2 parts and instructed customer to get a surge protector for the electrical outlet. Another issue with the chair is the way the chair frame tilted due to the way her husband sits in the chair. Customer kept a board under the chair on that side to correct the tilt. I advised against continuing this practice. When I left the customer'[Member Information Removed] house the chair was in 100% working order. When the customer'[Member Information Removed] husband called to advise that the chair stopped operating, I told him I would replace any defective part I installed, free of charge but there would be a $125.00 service fee. My goal is to provide 100% satisfaction to every customer."
"I am very happy that this customer is satisfied that his kitchen table was repaired in a most timely manner, which was his biggest concern when hiring me. Upon arriving at his home I was told that this would be a unique and difficult job; that the damage on the kitchen table was caused by the movers' inability to reassemble a marble table that they had taken apart in order to move. The customer advised that he did not have any instructions or information on how to assemble the table. The assembly job took much thought and improvising on my part, and I had all the required material on my work truck to be able to reconstruct and secure the customer's table. The customer was able to use his table that same evening, for which he was delighted. In fact, the customer said, "Now I can eat dinner at a table in my kitchen again; thank you so much Steven." Before I left, the customer asked for advise on how to repair another table on his own. I gave him detailed instructions on how to repair his other table and at his request I even provided the materials/hardware for the repair, free of charge."
"Customer requested an estimate to restore their classic oak kitchen set. As is is customary I gave them a free estimate at their home. We spent almost an hour discussing the difference between complete refinishing which requires taking the furniture out of their home or restoring the furniture on their premises, which is my specialty. They told me they already received a refinishing estimate that was twice the cost of the estimate I gave them, and they preferred to have the work completed at their home. They gave me a deposit and a week later the work was completed in their home. Upon completion of the work the customer had no complaints about the quality of the completed work and paid the balance. It appears that their concern is the amount of time spent completing the job. The customer must understand what a job entails. First, there is travel time for two trips, chemicals and materials, numerous other expenses, and most importantly my skills. I have 40 years experience and am licensed and insured. A job like this is done approximately once of week due to the effort needed to complete it. Regardless, I am happy that they are satisfied with the quality of my workmanship."
"Customer called for an estimate to repair the seat on his love seat/recliner that he said was sagging. When I arrived, I told him this unit would need to be completely reupholstered to re-stuff and re-spring the entire frame, and that I do not do reupholstery. He asked if anything could be done to just raise the seat on the side where he mostly sits. I told him that I could install a piece of foam underneath the springs to raise the seat, but that this was not the optimum solution. He requested that I order the foam and do the work. If the customer was not satisfied with the end result it is because as he was told this was not a substitute for a complete reupholstery job."
