in my Through a mistake of my own the man from preferred electrical talked me through an issue with my kitchen outlets.  During thanksgiving one of my GFI started making a noice and smoking ..  forturnately my son in law was was able to replace the GFI for me.  Then after my son in law left the problem started again and non of the outlets seemed to be woriing.  as a matter of fact another GFI on the other side started with a noice.  So when I tested the outlets nothing was working.I called Preferred and he said how was I testing the outlets and I told him with a coffee grinder that was not working when plugged in.  He said maybe the coffee grinder is not working and I said it was just working yesterday...he said try something else and he was right...I guess the coffee grinder was now broke.  ..Well in the end alll is working well for now.   and he did not have to come out or did not charge me for something that was a stuped mistake on my part.  I would always recommend them...he was very nice and helpful...  THANK YOU    PEOPLE AT PREFERRED.

They did a great job and cleaned up well and they even did a few extra things for me at no extra charge. I used the 10% off coupon.

Bill scheduled to do job within one week, showed up on time, removed old light units, assembled new light - fan units. Good job, this is the 3rd time I have used his services. There was no electrical connection in the ceiling so they had to work through the attic, cutting a hole in the ceiling.  Looks and works great.  I have already asked him to do another, smaller job.

I searched Angie's list for a reference for an electrician to correct some items found on a Home Inspection report on a home we had recently purchased. We also needed a flood light installed and a new closet light.
 
I saw a coupon for 2 hours labor and I purchased it which required payment in advance. Hoping for no glitches. NO glitches! Bill Johnston and his assistant were great! Since we didn't live in the area I had called Bill and he asked me to forward the list to him. I did this and called him upon arrival in Ormond Beach. Bill scheduled us for later in the week. AND showed up AND on time!! Imagine a plumber or electrician doing that!
Bill corrected the items we had asked about and also found a couple other things as well. He had to dig up the front pole light and rewire from the house to the light. He quoted a firm price on this job and I'm sure it took a little longer than he expected. But he got it fixed and the entire bill for half a day was more than reasonable. Honest man. Honest company. Will definitely call again and have several items on my list already!

We live on an island so we're pretty used to occasional power outages and brown-outs. Last week we experienced what appeared to be a severe brown-out leading to total power failure but only half the house. I called the power company who came and did a load test which proved it wasn't power up to the house. So we checked Angie's List for a new electrician having had so many bad experiences with others in the past. Bill Johnston, the owner of Preferred Electrical Construction, came out to the house right away. He was very professional, knowledgeable and caring. He located the source of the problem quickly...the main breaker panel outside where the power comes into the house. He opened the panel, with difficulty from salt corrosion and paint, and found that there wasn't even electricity on one of the leads going into the house from the breaker. Bill pulled the beaker out, cleaned it out some and put it back. 
The power was restored though it wouldn't last for too long we knew. The panel needed replacing. He figured up the parts and labor, gave me an estimate of + - $500 saying he would handle permitting and everything. That was a Friday and the job would be finished Tuesday. We had power from him cleaning the breaker and it lasted until the work was done Tuesday morning. I couldn't be happier and plan to use Bill and Preferred Electrical Construction for all my future electrical needs. Electricians that clean up after themselves? Unheard of...buy these guys do!

Contacted them by e-mail, next day response, had quote back promptly, best price !!!  We had a new Mfg. home



delivered to our site in Edgewater, called Preferred Electrical when we were ready for power hook up, they came



the next day (Sat.) did the complete job that day !!! Ever stayed thru a rain storm to finish !!! That's going the



extra mile for a customer. We will hire them to do any future electrical work we need done.



I know they have at least a 3 man crew and strongly recommend their services to everyone.

Lightning hit breaker box at my 86 year old Mother's house. He replaced burned out parts, fixed an outlet in garage that had also blown and tried to get garage door opener to function(above & beyond why he was there). We have to get a garage door repair person for that. He was on time, pleasant and did a good job.  He came same day as called which was wonderful so Mom would not be in the dark for long. and  power to whole house was out. We had shut generator off by then to save the gas. Mom was a business woman all her life and appreciates promptness and professionalism. She strongly approved of this gentleman.
