The most unskilled and unprofessional company I have dealt with. Delayed installation, cracked window that was changed multiple times, and my husband figured out why it kept on cracking not their installers, delayed and failed city inspection, and now a window leaking that has caused water damage to my wall. They came a week ago and reseal my windows. I was told I would be called by a supervisor by the name Dave but he has yet to call me. This company has been a homeowner nightmare stay away. Do your research.

There's not enough space here to detail everything but let's just put it this way: they lied every step of the way and my house is in worse shape now than when the project started. I probably could have done it myself and it would've looked better. They were a nightmare to deal with and in the end we were just happy to have them out of our house. We were lied to by the salesman, office staff, warehouse staff, management, laborers, and inspectors. It's amazing that they remain in business, as extraordinarily bad as they are. I imagine it's just due to people not having done their research, like we didn't - a couple of big, dumb fish a year must be enough to keep them afloat. The crew they sent were inexperienced and green; I imagine StormTight just pulls together a minimum wage crew - with the exception of the crew chief, they looked like they had never worked on a construction site before. Day One of the project, the crew chief showed up in flip flops. They damaged our house in several places, did shoddy, half-assed work, and shattered glass into the house but made no effort to put down drop cloths or clean it up properly afterwards, even though we've got little kids and dogs in our house. We had to beg them to complete work, follow up with them over and over again for work not done, and we missed weeks and weeks of work, with their crews not showing up on scheduled days, and when they did show up they'd go offsite for "lunch" and then not come back that day - this happened several times. We are having to hire another contractor to fix a lot of the trim work that their crew left unfinished and repair the damages they caused. Factoring in the additional repair work, this project cost us $51,000.

Several months after ordering our circumstances changed and we sold our house. We found out that Storm Tight opened a work order on our house and we are not able to close until that work order has been closed. We contacted them and told them we would no longer need the doors and they are insisting that we pay the total price of the doors and an additional 15% surcharge to cancel the contract. We are being robbed and they are holding our house closing hostage to get money from us. I am so disappointed in this company and I will make sure to tell everyone I know to stay away from this business. Original contract amount was $9000 we paid $2000 as a deposit and are now being told that we have to pay an additional $3000 and they never did anything for us.

It is really good. They do good work. The price is a little high but the quality is worth it. Overall, it's good.

Despite the mix up in installation dates, the installers finished the entire house in two days. There were twelve window openings including one 12 foot quadruple window.

The workers covered all the furniture with plastic tarps and even put up a dust waa made with the same plastic. They used a shop vac to suck away any dust generated from drilling into the concrete. They cleaned everything so that we had no mess left behind.

While Storm Tight Windows are more expensive than many others, they big beefy windows that will stand up to any hurricane South Florida can throw at them. They are really beautiful windows that enhance the look of the house.

My wife and I decided to purchase windows for our home.  But due to unforeseen circumstances at work, we decided to cancel the purchase.  I work for the fire department and we were looking at possible lay offs and cuts to our salaries.
We had given a $2,000 deposit.
I spoke with the office manager at the Boynton Beach office (Bryan Bradley) on the 3rd day of our cancellation window period. He's the same person that authorized product discounts and terms 2 days prior.  He confirmed that he would honor our cancellation. We were on vacation so I was not able to fax my cancellation but he assured me that speaking to him would due and to "enjoy your vacation and fax the cancellation as soon as we returned".
I faxed the cancellation upon my return about a week later.
Weeks turned into months and no refund.  I even spoke with the owner (Mr.Lee Brown) about 3 months later.  He said to send him proof of the financial hardships and he would refund our $2,000.  I sent him a package consisting of everything that he asked for. Again, weeks turned into months and not one reply!
I finally called again and got a hold of a receptionist that said she would look into what was going on.  She sent me an email that the company had decided to keep my $2,000 refund.
I have copies of everything that I sent them including phone records and read receipt emails.
No work was ever done.  The windows were not even started on because they never even had measurements taken.
Those $2,000 mean a lot to my family and really hurt our pockets.  I feel that the company did not honor their word.  Please be careful with this company.
Any help in getting my refund returned would be greatly greatly appreciated!

Response from Storm Tight Windows
"Federal Law requires we give our clients 3 days to cancel. We do this n our contract and on a separate form which we did. The form explains how to cancel and the time frame in which it must be done. The member canceled way out of the recession period. We are entitled to 15% of the agreement which is 2625.00, we began processing all the paperwork, secured financing for the homeowner and paid our representative. We incurred costs on this project even though no windows were installed. The deposit was for 2000.00 and we are entitled to 2,625.00. We would have considered canceling the agreement had the financial hardship been proven. But the consumer states that the reason they didn’t send in the cancellation on time was due to the fact they were on vacation. Just because windows were not made, doesn’t mean we don’t have costs associated with the project. We have policys in place to protect our clients and we must follow them. We are the largest Impact window provider in the state of Florida and the forms on how to cancel the agreement were left with the client and were clear."

Per a difficult HOA, attempts for a resolution between me, my HOA and STW continue to be long and strained with the HOA's issues on the grid pattern, length of the screens and frames.

Since 11/11/13, there have been 15 communication efforts to STW (email, phone messages and direct discussions) in my attempts to seek STW assistance and offer a resolution to my HOA. There were 2 visits from STW Installation Mgr. (Brad), 3 conversations with STW President (Lee) and 5 communications with my HOA. As recommended by Brad at STW, I offered a resolution to 2 of the 3 issues to the HOA, and the HOA has not accepted the offer. The relationship is strained between the 3 parties: STW feels they did their job by installing the windows per HOA approval (STW will not agree to remove the windows as requested by my HOA); HOA is not in agreement to the look of the windows and feel the ARB approval conditions have not been met, and I feel that David (STW rep who visited my home) was not forthright with me on what to expect from the windows nor do I feel he paid attention to the HOA requirements when recommending  the STW product.  David did not have a sample product to show me, just a photo of the window, no details of the screens or frames. As I said earlier, I trusted David's expertise. Also, the master bedroom window is defective, one of the side windows does not open (since the installation).

As of 1/28/14, my conversation with STW President (Lee) was strained and unpleasant but the take away was that STW will send me a resolution proposal to submit to my HOA. I have not yet paid STW the balance due payment (approx. $3600).

Additionally, STW's installers did some damage to my windows sills and wood flooring, and Lee agreed to repair the sills and floor. I am still hopeful there will be a mutually agreeable resolution between the 3 parties for the windows.

The salesman failed to show up for the first appointment and showed up late for the second one.  The salesman was knowledgeable about the different window products and was very personable. The salesman stated that all the work and workers are done by Storm Tight Employees.  This is far from the truth.  The only people working for Storm Tight are the sales folks and the office personnel.  We placed our order for the window on April  11, and was told the windows would be installed the first week of June.  Needless to say the first week of June came and went and no windows.  When I called the office to check on my order, I was told it would be at least two more weeks.  So I waited the two weeks and called in the middle of the third week, by this time it is the end of June. I proceeded to be told the exact same script as I was told before, it would be another two weeks.  At that point I was getting nervous as I had given them a 17k check as a deposit, and was beginning to worry it was a scam.  After much complaining and getting nowhere, we finally got the call that out Windows were in and would be in South Florida on July 19th, and the installers would come on Sat July 20th and finish the job on Monday July 22nd.  Now mind you, I was having my entire two story house replaced, total of 20 windows.  I thought two days was a little optimistic, but thought, well they must be going to send a whole crew to do the install.  Saturday came, and two guys showed up, with three window.  Apparently  the truck broke down and they couldn't get all the windows down to my house, but assured me they would have all the window come Monday.  The two guys got one Window done on Saturday and called it a day.  Monday came, and the same two guys showed up and still don't have all my windows with them.  This is when I find out that they are NOT Storm Tight employees, but sub-contractors hired to do the window installs.  Needless to say, it took them 10 days to install the window, and another 3 visits to complete the finishing touches, like installing the new window sills, fixing the dry wall and general cleanup.
While I am pleased with the window product themselves, and have no real complaint with the installer, I feel that Storm Tight was not upfront and honest about having subcontractors doing all the work, and all they really cared about was getting their money.  They showed up at my house twice to collect the balance due, before the windows were even completely installed, and before the inspector came to inspect the work.  Living in South Florida, inspection is key when you are install Hurricane impact windows, so your Homeowners insurance is valid and for resale of your home.
The Windows did pass inspection and they are beautiful, but honestly I can not in good faith recommend this company to anybody after the untruthful ways they do business.

SALES process was great.  Good product demo.
INSTALLATION - a nightmare.  We had experience with another home where we installed Impact Windows and Doors.  This was nothing like that in this home.  The installation was a nightmare. No supervision, no formality in the process; Installers would show up when they pleased.  No supervision in sight ; poor organization in the installation.  Installers showed up without their working materials. Used all 5 bathroom in our home and left them filthy.  Floor were not covered when installing and they ended up scratched everywhere. Left dirt and aluminum pieces all over the home, terrace, garden, everywhere -  inside and out.  They did not comply with installation timeline (one month late).  Owners attitude was horrendous and threatening. Did not get our written warranty. We paid 90% of job.  We did retained 10% till we get all documents and repairs  reimbursements they do not want to pay. Co sent their lawyers to intimidate.

They measured the windows. I gave them a down payment so they could order and are going to come and do the installation sometime in July. They have mostly been professional but there is a little lack of communication about the installation part but I got that aired out; so far we are on track with everything else. It takes a while to install the windows because the company or the plant is way up north and they have to get it shipped down here. They called me back and were very helpful. They cleared up the confusion as well but I had to call them back which I did not like. They make a very good product and if anyone needs hurricane proof windows then they are the company to go with.

We were in the market for new windows and doors for our home built in the 1970s. We not only wanted to update the look of our home but save money on our electric bill. Our air conditioner was working overtime to cool our home meanwhile the air was seeping out through the old windows. Storm Tight Windows installed windows and doors on another home in our neighborhood, the sales people knocked on our door to see if they can come out and give us an estimate. Since we were in the market and saw how nice our neighbor's home looked we agreed. A sales representative named Mark came to our home and did a lengthy sales demonstration. He was very informative and showed us how not only would our home be safe from a major hurricane we would also save significantly our electric bills. We were very impressed and agreed to make the purchase.
At the end of May our installation began. I have lived in South Florida for over 20 years and have never had such a nice bunch of men work on my home. Dan and his crew were not only courteous but clean and they showed me each window as they completed it. They showed they really cared about what they were doing and wanted me to be happy. I have to say I was very impressed by their work. I expected the installation process to be long and drawn out but they made it very painless.
After the installation was complete we quickly noticed the difference in the temperature in our home. We just received our first electric bill and it is much lower than this month last year. I am very pleased and to boot the extra bonus in this purchase that I did not expect was over the July 4th holiday normally I can hear my neighbor's kids shooting fire works until all hours of the night and with my new windows I could barely hear them!!!

The sales person was very detailed in showing us their product.  My inlaws just had their windows done with home depot and i wasn't happy with their finishing work.  I was a little skeptical with storm tight and he took the time to show me the difference in the windows with what home depot sells and their product.  We gave a deposit of 1/3rd  of the cost that day (which was a saturday).  that monday we got a call to schedule measurements of the windows.  someone came out and did the measurements with in 2 days.  then the company went silent.  I didn't hear from anyone again until i placed a call on the 6th week asking for a time frame as to when the windows will be installed.  We placed our order on 3/17/12 and the installation was done on 5/7/12.  The installation team were awesome.  they were very detailed which i appreciated.  We had to send 3 windows back because they opened from the wrong side and also one of the windows didn't have the right grids in them.  Currently we have not heard from anyone regarding whether or not the re-order was placed and when they will be back to reinstall.  My only complaint would be that they communicated better with their customers.  I shouldn't have to call them.  Also, I wish they would have gotten it right the first time.  with all that said, we love the windows that were installed.  I am very happy with the product and would recommend them to anyone!

6/26/12 Fast Forward to today: the installers came back with the 3 windows that we had to re-order however 1 was still opening the wrong way.  At that point i just wanted it done so the company and i came to an agreement. All windows were installed.  When the installers left they did not leave anything with me (ie: pictures, paperwork, permit).  Three weeks (3) went by  and no one called regarding scheduling of inspection.  I called the company.  I spoke to Christine who said she just filled this position and will get back to me as soon as she could regarding the status of our account.  She called me back to ask me if i had a permit or pictures because she didn't see them in my file.  After 22 emails back and forth inspection was scheduled for today.  I asked if a representative from Storm tight would be at the inspection and was advised that it was not necessary.  Inspector came, saw then left.  INSPECTION FAILED....Inspector requested a rep to be there next time.  Now we have to reschedule another inspection, take more time off of work.   This is very frustrating to me because I am trying to give the company the benefit of the doubt however they don't seem to really care.  I have had 3 people in the neighborhood ask me about the company and unfortunately all i can say is the product is good but StormTight NOT SO MUCH.  They cashed their checks fast enough so why should they help now (that's exactly how i feel).    I expected more from a company that used a sales pitch of "times are tough and we want to keep our guys working because they have families).....

The sales person came to our home and showed us the products, he was very patient with us because we are very picky on what we put in our home. We agreed to do the work with storm tight and they seemed to be very professional in their approach. We were notified of the permit and by the HOA that all had been approved to begin work. We received a call the first week of December to install the windows. The windows were installed Dec 12th in time for our family to arrive for Christmas. Im very pleased with the whole experience!! Great Job!!

I hired them back in March, and three months later they installed new windows.  They installed new doors and I still don't have a key for the back door and the front door still is not right.   Some of the screens have holes in them.   I would not recommend them to anybody.

I contracted with Storm Tight in August to replace 5 windows as I was very impressed with their product as opposed to other storm impact windows I have looked at.  While they were not the least expensive ones I have seen their quality far outweighed the price which I felt was fair anyway.  The windows were ready to install before I was ready to have them installed so they held onto them until I was.  On the day they were to be installed, a process I was dreading as I was sure it would be a huge hassle, they called to tell me they were on their way and would arrive at 930A.  They introduced themselves and the 3 of them got to work immediately.  31/4 hours later they were done, cleaned up and ready to go.  No hassle.  They did an amazing job and made a great effort not to make a mess, moved everything back--even rehanging my blinds and curtains.  One of the most professional jobs I've seen.  Not only were they neat and clean but the job was too.  I would recommend them to anyone and, if there was a grade higher than "A" I'd give it to them.  Well done Lee Brown and your employees.

By the way, the name of the manufacturer of these windows is Regency Plus Inc. out of Pennsylvania. Look around for other Manufacturers & Distributors. First of all the installation is not complete. It was suppose to be a 3 day installation, but one of my "items" was sent to another job & damaged, so they had to re-order. Damaged "hurricane door" ???!!! Kind of makes you think. The men that actually came to do the installation were just wonderful. Very professional, they knew what they were doing & they did not mind me watching them & asking questions. The installation went seamlessly with these men. If they were supplied the correct door (it was marked incorrectly & not by them) the entire job would have been completed in 3 days. I cannot say enough about the crew. Mauricio, Nelson , Dwayne & Chris. They work extremely well together & planned the installation around the afternoon rains. They set the exposed windows early in the day & worked on the 'protected' windows when the rain came. They then came back the next day to finish the exposed windows in the AM before the rains, then moved on to the protected areas. These men are NOT afraid of hard work in the Florida sun. The "A" rating above applies to the crew only.  The window quality speaks for itself. The company, itself, are very poor communicators. I made 5 phone calls to find out when installation would be so I could ask for vacation time. & I never received a return phone call. It took a phone call to the owner of the company to get some kind of response, which by the way was incorrect, but at least he tried & was not offended that I called. They have moved another person from another area to handle the scheduling of installations, Chris Campbell, & he was responsive to my questions & sincerely apologetic. My door was re-order as a 'RUSH' & should be in late next week (7/15/2011) to be installed on Saturday the 16th.Chris Campbell also asked me for a ?partial? payment of the final payment. My contract reads, 10 % down, then ½ of remaining balance on start of job & the remaining ½ when the job is complete?.  He said that perhaps out of the goodness of my heart, could I please see my way to giving them (I will just say $6,000) & they will give me a check back for half of that, so really, it will be that I am only giving them $3,000. WHAT?????!!!  After all, they really need to pay their crew.  WHAT???  again!!!   I told Chris that the entire statement sounded like creative financing & that now I was really concerned about the company not being liquid enough to be able to pay their employees. My windows are guaranteed for a lifetime, but if the company is in dire-straights, that did not make me feel all warm & fuzzy. I also told him that I was much more comfortable sticking to the contract.I will update this report with the outcome.   July 18th, 2011.  No door. No communication. I will be out of town this coming weekend??so who knows when the door will be installed. I am not feeling very good about this company.Update: July 28th,2011, NO DOOR. I wonder what "rush order" means?I will continue to update this report.
August 16th, 2011......no door, no communication.
August 17th 2011 I finally received a message from Chris Campbell that my door is in & he wants to install it tomorrow! He did leave me his cell phone number, so I left a message for him that the 18th/19th (work days) was not good for me, but Sat. or Sunday the 20th & 21st would be.
August 18th I try to get a confirmation for Saturday. I am glad that I kept calling them, because they were not going to call me to confirm that Sunday would be the day!  I will update this after Sundays install!
August 21st the door was finally installed & my installation complete. Installation was excellent. Again Mauricio & his crew did a fantastic job.
The person handling & scheduling County Inspections, Ana, wanted to send me an email with pictures so I could print them. I asked her to print them & mail them to me. I had to request this again a week later because of non receipt. Again, she wanted to email to me so I could print, & again, I asked her to print. This time they were sent & received.
The County needed these pictures to complete their inspection. County inspection happened on October 4th, and passed with flying colors.
To sum up, a 3 day installation that began on June 30, 2011 was completed on August 21st, no fault of the installers. Very high quality & efficient work for the installation crew. The windows, sliders & door are GREAT!
The communication with Storm Tight Windows is extremely poor. If one has the patients to tolerate that, then you will be pleased. I feel that if you are spending your hard earned dollars on a product, you deserve prompt & honest answers to your questions.
