Job was well done with care and professionalism

Showed up quicker than arranged. Chipped out wall to expose punctured copper pipe. Repaired section of pipe and tested pipe.

Our main water valve was broken; we called this company. They charged $79 to come out; but refused to credit that $79 to the final bill. They then charged an additional $827!!! for a simple valve change. Because my partner, who is a woman and has no knowledge of the cost or what to do, they not only took advantage but grossly overcharged! They added a second valve, for no reason, on the same line. When I called to get a breakdown - which was not provided on the original bill - they refused and have not answered me. I think this company took advantage and overcharged someone who did not have the knowledge. Stay away form them

Hillman plumbers were prompt & work was performed in a timely manner.

I am not paying $80 for a quote. The quote doen't even go towards the job. They send someone to look at my garage to measure a 56" 50 gallon water tank??? really?? Get real!! the very next person gave me a quote over the phone and set me up a week from today. They too have an A rated company and didn't waste my time and money.

Alex was patient, efficient, very professional and explained every detail of what he was doing and how to understand the problem. Added their service contract and will call them again if needed.

Purchased an Angie's List deal for a plumbing inspection. Needed an inspection for a home I was purchasing. Scheduling was fast and was able to schedule in 1 day which is what I needed. Inspector was running a bit late but called and advised. Inspection went well, inspector went room to room checking and advising on things that needed to be done or done at a later date.

I setup an appointment over phone and the rep told me about the flat service charge of 79$. I asked her a few times if that meant they'll definitely find the source of the leak for me and she assured me they will. The person who came out was nice and cordial. We could not reproduce the leak right away, so he said he'll be able to tell me where the leak is by cutting a small hole in the ceiling. But for that, I would need to pay him an additional 200$. This was puzzling. A charge for coming out to the house, plus a 2.5x charge for cutting a small hole? So why not explain this over the phone when I set up the appointment? At this point, I told the plumber to leave. Very disappointing. And a waste of time.

We contacted Joe Hillman and got a quotation over the phone which was a about 5% more expensive than another options. Next day they showed up to replace the water heater as scheduled.

I was very pleased with Joe Hillman Plumbing, from the first call - to a very delightful & helpful receptionist - to the knowledgeable & personable plumbers on-site.

Everything went well I just felt that wanted more money and changed my 2 handle to one shower handle rather than help me fix the 2 handles. Second company who said same thing, but if I got the parts for the 2 handle shower they would fix it.

I just moved into this house and I want to get my bathrooms remodeled. So before I go through all of that I wanted to have plumbers come in to tell me if I need to get anything done in terms of plumbing. Two guys from Joe Hillman Plumgbers Inc. came on time and called before coming (A+ on punctuality). They were nice guys (B on niceness - not sure if that is an option for rating). They came and asked me what I wanted them to do. I explain what I wanted (I should have suspected something then). They went through and looked and then once they were "done" then the main guy asked me if I wanted him to talk me on a walk through. He took me on a walk through and told me what he suggested I change and pay attention to. Then I asked him is he going to give me a write up so I will know the estimated cost of these items he pointed out. For some reason he could not get past me wanting to get the remodel and he told me he could not provide me with the estimate; he said his supervisor would have to come out and do that (made absolutely no sense to me). He went to his car to write up a paragraph about what he did and gave me a quote for getting a camera inspection. I called the main office and asked them why I was not getting a quote for the inspection suggestions and the lady told me that the guy who was there was going to do that. I called later on that day to speak to the supervisor and he said he personally would sit down with the guy who came out to send me an estimate. I have not received that estimate to this day...Not happy about my experience. I am getting knowledgeable plumbers to come out and check my plumbing.

The plumber arrived on time, worked expediently and neatly, and resolved the problem, which remained resolved for many years, but ultimately returned, However, I don't think it was the fault of their work. Pricing was competitive.

I didn't get the "A" service that other members got. Maybe I got them on a bad day? When the 2 guys arrived, they noticed that the breaker was shut off, I told them it must have tripped as no one would have gone into my electrical panel. I asked to please check out the water heater anyway to see what could have caused the breaker to trip, they looked at it and said it was fine. I paid the $79 service fee. 2 weeks passed and my water was running lukewarm at best, I knew I had a problem. I called another plumber and upon inspection he said one of the elements had rotted and needed to be replaced, he showed it to me. Why didn't the tech from Joe Hillman see this? I feel like I paid a service fee for nothing. Also, the tech was more interested in selling me their "straight forward" pricing subscription plan then trying to see what the problem was. I was not impressed with the service nor their sales pitch.

I recently purchased a new condo which needed a water heater purchased and replaced. I was referred to this company through the condo association. When I received the estimate, I was quoted $1800. I thought it was a bit high, but was wary to question it because I wasn't sure of the pricing in this area. The main issue arose when I spoke with the manager and requested a tankless water heater. He informed me that the electrical amperage of the building does not permit the installation of tankless water heaters. So, I ordered the regular tank water heater. We had it installed before we officially moved in. When we spoke to some people in the building, we found out that the building was capable of accommodating tankless water heaters. I had already paid the company $900 up front. I cancelled the other $900 check that was in route. When I contacted the company after finding this out, they denied ever having told me that we could not have a tankless water heater. I told them that since we apparently can have a tankless water heater, I wanted the one they had put in the condo removed and a tankless water heater installed due to the small size of the condo and my need for storage space. They told me that they would take it out, which they did. Even though the issue was eventually resolved, I find it disturbing that the company misrepresented building requirements and there was no apology or reimbursement offered. I would recommend to do your research thoroughly before deciding to use this company due to the exorbitant costs, faulty representation, and poor customer service.

I chose 3 plumbing contractors from Angie’s List and called for estimates. The first was a company that I had used twice in the past and I wanted to give them 1st priority. I gave a detailed description of the work, but I was told that they don't give estimates over the phone, and it would be $95 for them to come out which would be deducted if I used their services. The next one I called told me it would cost $40 for them to come out and again it would be deducted if they did the work. I made an appointment for the next day. The 3rd contractor was Joe Hillman Plumbers. The receptionist on the phone took all my information and told me that she would have the person that handles estimates call me. Early the next day, I received a call, gave a detailed description of what I needed, and was asked to hold for a moment. A short time later he returned and gave me a quote of $925.00. I thanked him and told him I would be in touch. Later that day, the plumber I had made an appointment with came to my home, looked at the various jobs, and went to his truck to prepare a quote. Several minutes later, he returned with an iPad. On it he showed me 3 prices. One was $1,300 just to do the faucets, NOT including the valve outside. Including the valve outside, it would be $1,900, and if I paid to join their maintenance program, it would be a little over $2,000. I quickly wrote him a check for $40.00, and called Joe Hillman Plumbing back. I spoke to the same woman I had spoken to the day before. I told her I wished to have the job done, and mentioned the price. She put me on hold to confirm, and came back momentarily to say that the $925.00 price was correct. In taking down my information, she asked how I had heard about Joe Hillman and I told her Angie’s List. She stated that as a member, I would get $25.00 off, so now the price was $900.00. It was late in the afternoon on Friday, so she offered me an appointment for between 8-10 am Monday. I took it and received a phone call at 8:10 Monday morning from Willie, telling me that he would arrive in 20 minutes. He arrived with Josh to assist him, introduced themselves and asked to look at the job. Before entering the house, they put coverings on their shoes to avoid tracking in dirt. The job took around 4 hours, with them keeping us updated as they went along, and showing us the work as it was completed. When finished, Willie showed us the faucets and the connections to assure that we were happy with the work and were aware of how the faucets and drains operated. Lastly, they took me outside and demonstrated how to turn the valve on and off slowly to make sure that we did not do it too fast as that could cause damage. Once they were certain that we were completely satisfied, they presented the bill, which was exactly $900.00. They left the entire area clean, and all of the faucets/valves work perfectly. I highly recommend Joe Hillman Plumbers.

They have been correcting a number of mistakes done by other plumbers and contractors. If you want it done right call them.

Excellent-very responsive, polite and excellent work

He quoted an astronomical price so I sent him away. I had to pay the $60 service call. The plumber I ended up getting to do the job charged less than a 1/3 of what Hillman quoted me. The only good thing I can say about Hillman is that they came out the same day I called.

They were very good to me and kept their appointments. Everyone I spoke with or who showed up to work was very kind and knew exactly what needed to be done. I would hire them again in a heartbeat

I purchased a whole house drain cleaning which was offered by the representative over the phone. Jeff showed up promptly at the scheduled time. He performed a cleaning of the laundry drain(which was the problem) and the clean-out nearby but did not clean the second clean-out or any other part of the house. He said he was the plumber and he wasn't doing anymore, thinking that I wasn't well versed on the layout and function of my sewer system. He then started a screaming match and it ended with him passing my number to Anthony, a supervisor. Anthony reduced the total slightly and offered me a $50 credit on my next service, although I doubt I'll use this company again. Contractors prey on the fact that most people are ignorant of how things work, based on what I saw, this might be one of those companies.

I called on Thursday and got a Monday appointment. They were very pleasant to deal with on the phone. . Ricky came and was quite thorough, friendly and helpful. He made some good suggestions but with no high pressure tactics to have added work to be done at this time. I would definitely recommend their company.

Able to get hot water to most of house, awaiting insurance company to approved quote for final repairs.

The company wanted to charge $75 just for coming out to my house to see what I wanted done. I made it clear when I called that there was nothing to diagnose. I simply wanted three water valves replaced; and of course I was willing to pay the proper cost to get the work done. So don't believe the free estimate offer. It's a bait-and-switch deal.
