"The person writing this bad review is a realtor who recommended this house to her daughter. Unfortunately, this house -- and all the 2 story houses in this neighborhood -- were built with wood construction 2nd story and not concrete block (as is current code), and the entire 2nd story wood structure has rotted from water damage as a result of poor maintenance over the years. After they purchased the house, we were hired to fix one specific area of water damage. This was a small one day ($2K) job, which we fixed over 3 years ago. Since then, they have discovered extensive structural water damage to the 2nd story. Basically, the entire 2nd story needs to be rebuilt by a GC with a city permit and an engineer. The realtor mom says that we should have done all of that, or that we owe them that work. In our over 20 years of business, occasionally we have customers with unreasonable expectations who threaten us with bad reviews, but there is nothing that we can do about it. There is nothing that we can possibly do to satisfy this customer except rebuild the entire 2nd story of the house which would cost at least $200K, far outside the scope of what they hired us for. We were not hired to do an inspection, and there was nothing in our contract that was expressed or implied that we would fix any and all unknown water damage problems in the home. We only fixed the specific area that we were asked to fix, which they were satisfied with at the time."
