AMI Air Conditioning

It went well. My AC has since been running without incident and drainage is working.

Went well. Two men came and completed the job in a timely fashion. They cleaned the coils and revealed the unit. We had been using other providers and they did not mention or check the coils. The inspector for sale of the home noted that the coils were in need of cleaning. We had used this company several years before changing the unit. The price was a little higher than the average the inspector stated was average, but I wanted a company I could trust. Price was per company quote.

The people at AMI Air were super nice. Over the years I've used several different A/C repair companies and always felt like they were trying to sell me extra stuff. This company was responsive and didn't try to sell me anything extra. Even when they told me we'd need a new motor, they didn't say "I'd replace the whole thing because your a/c is older" although that was clearly the case. He gave us all the options. We ended up spending a lot more than we might have, but even when offering new a/c's, he gave us several different options of features and costs for different ones, without urging one over another. So, I'd use them again. They were great.

Amazing service. The tech visit was scheduled right away and the tech was prompt and very knowledgeable. The service and inspection were performed relatively quick and the tech answered all the questions I had in great detail.

$49 for Heating or Cooling Service Call. They were puctual and easy to schedule. Gave me good advice regarding my unit.

Job went just as planned. Very professional. Cleaned up after job. Came back to check on it.

Technician came at scheduled time. Very polite and professional. Explained details patiently. Gave me confidence that company had high work standards and would be capable of handling air conditioning replacement.

The technician that came was named Jorge. Jorge was very pleasant and made me feel very comfortable. He looked at the outside of my A/C and said that looked fine. He then looked at the A/C inside. He knew immediately what was wrong. It was the emergency float switch was turned off because the water was not draining. He noticed that my drain pipe was in the wrong position. He cleaned the drain pipes. He did a very thorough job. He changed the direction of the pipe so that it was not as high which will help the water drain out. He was absolutely awesome. I would highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.

Central Air stopped blowing cold air at about midnight. I called AMI the next morning after searching Angie's list. AMI works in North Dade. I told them I needed a tech no earlier than 3pm. AMI promptly responded at 3:30 PM with a capable and friendly tech guy. He diagnosed and fixed the problem in 15 minutes. The part he replaced (dual run capacitor) is basically a $30.00 part. He checked the voltages and installed it quickly after removing a panel on the outside fan unit. $175 was changed. This is a fair price and I am completely satisfied. I recommend AMI without reservation.

Condensor came damaged but a replacement was found delaying the install a couple of hours. Other than that it was a very pleasant experience from estimate to completion. Unit works wonderfully.

The AC stopped blowing cool air around 9 pm. Because I had a feverish child at home, and another with asthma, we called AMI and left a message on the emergency 24 hour line. Within a few minutes, Steve returned our call. He asked what the problem was, and clearly outlined the procedure and costs for after hours service. We agreed that "emergency" service was needed, and he arrived at our home in under an hour. He very quickly diagnosed the problem and gave us an estimate. We were thrilled that he had the necessary part in his truck, and he replaced the capacitor quickly. Before 10:30, our home was cool again. Even though the job was after hours, the cost was not at all unreasonable. In fact, this problem has occurred before, and a "regular hours" service call and repair with another company was only slightly less. Steve was punctual, very professional, and worked quickly despite the fact he was in the darkness outside and holding a flashlight with his teeth as he worked. I would certainly use AMI again, and feel confident in recommending them to others. Kudos to Steve for a job well done, and much appreciated.

initially came out and didn't have a ladder tall enough to get onto the building. He tried his best to get another truck out but it was late on a Friday. Spoke to his boss and they made plans to come out the next day, Saturday although they were closed. Both techs were great. Very friendly and professional. All around good guys and good company. Would use again and recommend without reservation.

At 3:15 pm, I received a call from AMI to tell me that someone would be on the way to look at my AC. Unfortunately, I was not able to be near my phone because I was showering after sweating all day doing house work in the heat. It was my fault the phone was not in the bathroom with me, and they did call back ten minutes later at 3:25. However, I missed both calls because I was in the shower at the time they called. When I did see the calls, I called them back. That was at approximately 30 minutes after they first tried to reach me. When I called, the girl who answered the phone said, "you should've called me back sooner. I sent the technician to another job." She then told me that if he came after that job it would be getting into overtime for the technician. If someone has an AC emergency and they miss your call for just 30 minutes, that shouldn't mean that they are then left without the service that was promised. It is poor customer service to tell someone at 9:50 in the morning that you can't provide a better ballpark estimate of arrival time than "late afternoon." It is also poor customer service to say that you will call to say someone is going to arrive in about an hour, and then give them less than 30 minutes to answer or call back. Lastly, even if I was 100% at fault for missing the call, you don't not offer a later appointment without vaguely hinting that it is not possible because of overtime. Beyond the negative review this sort of service generates, AMI should also realize that they missed an opportunity for an on going business relationship. This company is running a coupon for an AC tune-up, which means they are trying to generate new business, yet they turn away a customer who might require a new AC and who will be looking for a good company to provide years of maintenance service at the very least. Not a smart move on their part, but apparently, 30 minutes is just too long to not call back in their eyes. Luckily, I contacted another company on Angie's List, and they were able to come out to look at my AC. If they do a good job, I will write a review to thank them for helping me out, and that company will receive my on going maintenance business.

Excellent punctuality and service. After being ripped off by another air conditioning company that "cleaned" my system from "mold" which no one had analyzed as mold (could have been layers of dust), and charged me to replace a breaker.....never until the third guy from that company said it was a compressor problem and would call back...well, I ran to Angie's List to find a reputable air conditioning service and called AMI. They were great. Solved the problem immediately and even though they charged extra for a Saturday call, I had cool air right away with no muss and fuss and extra "necessary" repairs. I was delighted and would call them again if I need that kind of service. Totally satisfied.

Steve was great -- he was quiet, pleasant to have in our home, got right to work, was careful and kept the area around the air handler clean and tidy. He was very professional and never stopped working once. He explained what services should be done once a year and made sure our unit was ready for the next year.

Technician was on time and he spoke proper English (which deserves extra mentioning here Miami :) ) he did the maintenance check on both our units and explained everything. He seemed very knowledgable.

Called and got very good customer service, same day. Office checked in with me throughout the day to update me on arrival estimate. Repair was fast, and much appreciated because it was hot. Everyone was extremely professional and nice, will use again.

He was very busy from the time he got here until he left. It only took about an hour.

I purchased the deal from Angie's List and was very satisfied with the outcome. Steve the technician showed up on time and was professional and courteous. He took the time to listen to my concerns and address them. He performed a through inspection of the units and explained his findings. I would definitely call them again.

Excellent job. Our unit had started to leak a couple days before we had to leave for a trip....AMI was able to schedule someone to come out before the trip and do the job. George was professional, very knowledgeable, and polite. He took care of job with total professionalism, even though our condo rules made things somewhat difficult. We later had FPL come by to do an in-home survey and they said the coils had been beautifully cleaned. I would highly recommend AMI.

On time, Professional, compitant

I was very pleased with the service. They were very punctual and professional. Steve was great and extremely knowledgeable in identifying the problem and quickly fixing the problem. My A/C was fixed in less than an hour. I have been recommending them to all my friends and family.

The technician (Will) was extremely professional and courteous. He spotted the issue right away and was able to repair. I was only initially concerned about the overall price. However service was fast and Will offered a 10% discount after speaking with his boss. He also checked and topped up the gas level, water washed the outside unit and replaced the worn pipe insulation. Initially I was upset because the high price but Will's professionalism made up for that abundantly!

Went extremely well from the moment I called to set up the appointment. The lady scheduling it was extremely helpful and friendly and gave a lot of good advice on acs in general which, as i a first time home owner, I really appreciated. The next morning they called 20 mins before the appointment and the gentleman came right on time. Our AC had dust buildup which was causing leaks and Jorge(sp?) cleaned, vacuumed and unclogged the AC for us. We do need to do a proper full cleaning once the construction work in our house is done but he did enough for the AC to stop leaking for now so work could continue in our kitchen. He even gave us a very reasonable quote for a full cleaning, which I am sure we will take advantage of once all our reno work is done.
