A Shade Above Window Fashions was founded in 1984 under the name Window Coverings To Go. Our new name emerged after a corporate change in 2005. In 2000, we had the distinction of becoming the first Hunter Douglas Window Gallery. Today there are nearly 475 Galleries in the nation, and abroad. Throughout the past 29 years, our unique showroom environment and product knowledge has helped thousands of consumers select the right window covering for their home.

Their service person, Vince Fertile, is THE BEST, and he always has an assistant with him. They had the part they needed and repaired the vertical blind on site. I had to wait almost two weeks, but I was told this when I called to schedule. I was told what the charge would be - and it was not one cent more. They have ALWAYS been great to work with and done a superb job...from choosing, to measuring and ordering, to installing...and now repair. I have nothing negative to say about this company... Bruce, Elliot, Vince...they are a class act. No crap about needing to take the blind to a factory authorized repair site... They know what they're talking about, they're honest and their work is perfect!
I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants to improve their window treatments in any way, shape or form !!!

The flow of our showroom traffic is normally very suitable for our customers. I feel badly about the timing of your visit. We do give phone quotes for people who have sizes and a specific product in mind. It was highly unusual that didn't occur in your case. Our normal business hours are 10-6 Mon-Sat and no appointment is needed. We do not hesitate to make after 6pm or Sunday appointments for customers who can’t come in during regular hours or prefer an appointment. Next, we needed a valance...again, my husband and I know little. We had no time to go to a fabric store to pick fabric. A Shade Above has a very good selection of fabric and Bruce helped us select the perfect color. All based on a picture we brought of the room. The shades and fabrics are of high quality.
The installation took little time and his expert installation person, Emilio, left our home spotless. I will definitely use A Shade Above in the future and you should too.

The blinds I selected are a little pricey, but that is purely preferenece. They have low priced blinds all the way up to the best of the best. My blinds are high quality and beautiful. I always get compliments about them. I installed blackout honeycomb shades in my bedroom because I work over night and sleep during the day. They are beyond what I expected and are very stylish, which is hard to find with blackout shades. Great company with great quality window treatments.
