I ordered a flower arrangement from Hassell Florist. The person taking the order was friendly and assured me that the flowers were available (a beautiful purple arrangement that was shown on their website) and that the arrangement would be delivered that day. Speaking with the recipient (my mother) later that evening, I found that an arrangement with 5 red carnations, 2 pink roses, a blue flower and some sticks was delivered! If I hadn't mentioned 'purple flowers' to her, I'd never have known that a cheap substitute had been sent! HOW EMBARRASSING! The next morning after I contacted the florist, they redelivered the correct arrangement and picked up the other. This is just NOT okay! IF you do order from this florist, make sure that you mention that you'll be seeing the arrangement that's being sent (whether you're actually going to see it or not) - this may stop any cheap substitutions from being made to your order. On a further note..... The arrangement that was delivered on Saturday was wilted by Tuesday and dead by Wednesday. I've personally had flowers last well beyond a week...... Flowers lasting only four days is unacceptable!! I will never use this florist and highly recommend you find another florist also. It was a total waste of money, time and an insult to my mom for her birthday. UPDATE: The response by the Florist is INACCURATE. I did see the arrangement prior to it being picked up. IT ABSOLUTELY WAS NOT THE PURPLE ARRANGEMENT. So, not only do they provide poor floral arrangements, they also fabricate information to make their customers appear to be in the wrong. The original flowers were absolutely NOT what was ordered and the replacements died within four days. This is the truth.

When (removed member name) contacted me expressing her unhappiness of an arrangement that was ordered for flowers in the purple color pallet, I was shocked to know that we sent a floral design with "5 red carnations, 2 pink roses, a blue flower, and some sticks." When the delivery driver brought the arrangement back to the florist, yes, a similar arrangement had been sent in the exact same color scheme as the one (removed member name) ordered. There were no red carnations or pink roses, so I'm guessing the recipient gave her some incorrect information. The flowers sent in the replacement arrangement on Saturday were fresh. I'm not sure if (removed member name) ever saw the second arrangement or is just going on what her mother tells her. If I had been contacted directly, I would have taken care of this matter.

I ordered a floral arrangement on 8/19 via the internet, with delivery and tax it came to $79.07. I received a confirmation email later that night, with the details and who the flowers were going to, which was myself. The flowers were to be delivered the next day 8/20/08. I had my sister come to the house to wait for the arrangement. She arrived at 8:30am and was there until after 5pm. I was greatly disappointed that the arrangement had not been delivered. I then checked my voicemails and heard a message from a gentleman, don't have his name, at Hassell Florist who called around 9am, (my sister does not answer or listen to my voicemails). He was questioning the delivery as it was to the same name and address as the billing information. That's all he said; not "if I don't hear back from you we will not deliver the flowers", or "we will deliver to the address indicated on the order form". My divorce was final on the day I wanted the flowers delivered. I was sending them to myself, which I have done before with other florists. I then sent Hassell Florist an email that evening on 8/20, asking them why they did not deliver the flowers according to the info on the invoice. This was yesterday that I sent them the email and I have not heard one word from them. I feel that Hassell Florist is not deserving to have a good grade on Angie's List and their name is well earned...hassle! I will not call this florist again and will not recommend them either. Buyer beware with Hassell Florist!
