Installation was scheduled for 3/31 but I received a call that morning stating crew was held up on another job due to weather the past few days so they would not be out until 4/1. The install crew (Mark and his son) arrived about 9 on 4/1. When reviewing the work that needed to be done there was a difference in what they were told to do and what was contracted with Geoffrey the sales person. After inspecting the roof, Mark agreed that the work that Geoffrey had indicated on my contract did need to be done which involved re-enforcing half on the roof and laying down a new plywood base for support of the new roof. Many phone calls later between the office and Mark and finally a call from Geoffrey to clarify and authorize the work, they finally started around 10:30. They did a good job and had good solutions for areas along the edge that dipped down. It took 2 days to complete the job as it was a big roof. After they left on 4/2 I noticed that on the carport side they had not flashed the membrane over the old roof and it was wide open to the elements and critters. Called Chris (install lead) on 4/4/ to advise of the issue. He said would get a hold of installer. It took 2 more calls with Chris and I had to send him pictures of issue (I guess to prove the problem existed) to finally get a date. On 4/9 the installer Mark arrived and completed the carport side correctly.
In the end the job was completed right and passed inspection. I am VERY pleased with the quality of the membrane and the work that was done. As of 5/1 I am still waiting for the Roof Inspection Certificate. It appears that Mark failed to give completed pictures to Chris so I will send some so the certificate can be completed.
A word of caution to anyone using Comfort Cover:
1) Make sure that you get the detail of what is to be done IN WRITING on the contract when the salesman is there and you should make sure that the install team has the correct instructions for the work.
2) The General Manager Gary Smith is abrasive and will test your patience should you have to deal with him (as I had to).
3) Be prepared to followup on the install date and expect that the date may change based on weather, etc... and there will be little if any advance notice.
Overall, once the job is done you will be proud of the new roof as I am and I feel confident in the quality of the materials and workmanship.
I do and would recommend them.
"We returned to the home March 14th, March 21st and March 22nd to try and satisfy the customer. We replaced 27 feet of trim inside and repaired the flashing which caused the leak. We cannot change the front and rear appearance of the home as they are requesting. It is not conducive to our type of roofing. The roof passed inspection from the building department and is properly installed. I am sorry they are not happy. They have a lifetime no leak warranty to them, transferable to 15 years from date of install to subsequent owners. After the repairs were completed, our manager called to follow up explaining we can not add an overhang to their roof per their request. We have done all we can."
"We have responded the following dates on site: 6/6/11 8/3/11 12/14/11 6/25/12 - found no roof problems We contacted the customer 2/14/13 - told him we spoke with the Inspector he had out. He indicated he used a moisture meter and found moisture present. He could not determine the source. We suggested to the customer we would put a pan in the attic. If there is a leak, it will go in the pan. We will be present during a hard rain, or we will do a water test on the roof. If it is proven roof leaks, we will repair. If proven roof does not leak, we would like an apology."
"We apoligize for your inconvenience. Our marketing department strictly adhears to the Federal Do Not Call List. If you are not listed on the federal list, please feel free to contact our office and will will gladly remove you from our call lists."
