It turned out pretty good. The guy George was very nice and professional. I also signed up for a service contract with them. They got the job done in about one hour. The scheduling was okay and they were able to come out when I was at home.

They came and did the inspection. Turned the unit onto fan. They said said that they would call back at 8:30am the next morning, and I haven't heard anything else from them. I have been calling every since. I paid them my check yesterday, and now I hear nothing. The phone is on an answering machine. Added 8/28/14: I called again, they put me on hold and then disconnected.
Description of Work: They said they think the coil went bad. They were going to check to see if it was still under warrenty from the company.

There seems to be some problem with this customers phone line. She said she called several times and couldn't get through but she seems to be the only one having that problem. We did contact Trane for her about the warranty status as promised, and we called her 4 times between 11 and 1 but did not get an answer. When Trane called back to tell us the coil was not covered under warranty we called her again at 3:15 and left a message. We wanted to send a service man back at n/c to see if there were any cheaper options because of the expense of a new coil, but unfortunately we never heard back from her. We then had a service tech to stop by her home since we were unable to contact her by phone, but no one answered so we left a door knocker to let her know we were there. We are sorry for the communication problem she is having, but we feel that we have done everything possible to help this most difficult customer.

A/C unit failed on Sunday evening 24 August. Contacted Bayside first thing Monday morning and their tech arrived that afternoon to advise that we had a bad condenser. He checked with the office who called the original installer and determined the unit was still under warranty, which was great for us as the parts were free. Replacement unit arrived at the office on Tuesday and replacement service was scheduled for Wednesday. Unit is back up and running perfectly. Great service - very professional, we signed up for a maintenance agreement.

Great! Everything is working great. He (Derek) worked vary hard in different conditions to figure out our problem. Cleaned two units and serviced them as well.

I?ve had two completely different experiences with Bayside Heating & Air Conditioning. My first review can be found on July 7th. At that time I had Bayside come out and perform a system check on my 9 year old unit. I was very satisfied with the outcome (enough to nominate them for the ?Page of Happiness?). I was told that overall my system was good , but running higher then recommended (electric wise) and should be replaced with-in about 2 years. My second experience was not so positive. We came home to a house that was hovering around 91. I called Bayside to see if I could get someone to come out and take a look and tell me what was going on. Once the tech arrived around 6pm (outside of the hours I was told) he proceeded to fiddle around with the unit for about 10 minutes and informed me that I would need to have the system fixed (if possible) or have a completely new system installed. He told me that he?d have the company call me the following morning for quotes. I asked that tech (a different one from the original visit) to have the company call me ASAP to get pricing on a new unit. Needless to say this was a bit of a shock after being told only 2 weeks prior that the unit was running slightly high, but was all in all, in good shape, just die? After waiting 2 days and nights (90+ inside temp) for a call I decided to go with another company (McCaskill Heating & Air) who installed a new unit with-in a day and a half. It?s been about a month now since I was told I?d receive a call and have yet to receive any form of a follow up. I?ve since recommended McCaskill Heating & Air to two of our friends, and warned them to stay clear of Bayside. I was very let down with Bayside and won?t be relaying on them in the future.

Unfortunately in this situation the customer is correct. The technician did not call back with pricing for a new unit. The technician that was on call that weekend got a call Sunday afternoon that his mother was rushed to the hospital. He immediately left town to address his family emergency. The technician did not return until the following week, and by then had forgotten to contact the customer. The technician sends his humble apology for forgetting to follow up or pass on the information to the office to contact the customer and address his needs. We are glad that another company took care of him where we failed. We wish this customer good luck, and if we can ever be of any service we will be glad to help.

Technician said everything was fine and that nothing further was needed and rushed out the door. I went out to see work and found that he had just cut off drain tube and left it to drain straight down to ground on side of house. Water should have been diverted away from foundation. When I called to complain I was told it didn't matter. I now have to get someone else to finish a botched job.

The technician arrived to find a clogged drain line. He removed a 6" piece of PVC pipe outside by the unit that was clogged. He then re-attached the drain and now was draining properly. The customer called in worried about the shorter drain pipe outside. That it being nearer the house, and different from the neighbors, she was concerned it would damage the foundation. We advised the customer that it wouldn't hurt anything, that it was still draining outside in the grass and dirt, but if she wanted we would be glad to send the technician back out to re-extend the drain line to her satisfaction. She then told us that she didn't want the same technician back, she wanted someone else. We explained to the customer we had no other technician in her area that day, and we could not send someone else.. She then replied I'm not interested and hung up.

The service was good. It did not cost me more than the $49 Big Deal. I like that the guy was knowledgeable. He took his time and explained everything. He did not try to up-sell me with too many things. They made recommendations, but I have had ones where they come and really try to up-sell you, but no, he was good. He took care of everything. The AC was not cooling too well and by the time he left, it has been going cold. My air conditioning is still good. They were on time.

Went well. Did notice mold problem in blower and installed a UV light which seemed expensive at $1200, but couldn't find any pricing to compare. Since it was installed the air from the vents smells much better then before and if it gets rid of mold then I can't complain. All in all did a great job and will use again for next year.

The technician was excellent, but girl problems were beyond his control. I have had my system for about 1 year and Bayside did the installation. In that year there have been mold spores forming around the air handler. The best way to handle this is to have the special light kit which kills the spores. Unfortunately when my system was installed I was not given the option to purchase this. Now to have it added later will cost $300 more than if I had it done when the system was first installed. My service tech try to get his manager to approve the original price and not charge extra $300, but his manager said no. For that reason I decided not to have it installed at all. I decided I would rather pay another company to come in every year to clean the mold then to pay Bayside to have them put it in this special light. MY UPDATE I just increased their grade and report because the management called me directly several days later to discuss the problem (I do not think he saw the review first) and we went through the issues. He recognized that there was a problem and decided to make it right in the best possible way, by honoring the original install price AND by refunding me the added fee for the disinfection of the ducts which I had paid for on a separate invoice. The final result is that I have the UV light installed at the price it would have cost me at original installation time and no additional expenses which would have been avoided had the light been installed on day 1. They made it right and deserve lots of credit for standing by their customers.

Service call went well overall. Jim was on time, friendly, professional. Visit was for a 21-point check-up, and that's what was done. I was given a system assessment (a couple of potential further maintenance jobs were pointed out), and he replaced the filter with what he feels is a better one for this system (the rinseable type). He also flushed the coils. I asked about a warm room, and was told to replace the light bulbs (which had already been done). I still have questions about why the room is warm and what can be done. This is the reason for the B rating. Could have just been poor communication. I was very satisfied otherwise, and would definitely consider calling Bayside again.

I have been a customer of Bayside A/C for over 8 years. I purchased my Trane A/C from Bayside. Bayside has been servicing and maintaining my A/C unit for 8 years. Recently I had to have service done and I am not pleased with the customer service that I received. I called on Thursday 8/24/14 at 6am, got the answering service, I explained the problem I was having, gave my name and address and was told to call back at 8 am. I called at 8:30am and spoke with Robin, once again explained the problem and I was told a service tech would be out between 12-3pm. At 2:10pm I called and spoke with Robin and was told I was the next one and the tech was finishing up at his current site. She said she would call when he was on his way. At 3:10pm, Robin called and said the tech Lance was on his way. He arrived at 3:45pm. Lance fixed the problem in a short time; he said the unit needed Freon. He proceeded to tell me that he didn?t get the call until 3:00pm. Why tell a customer a three hour time window when in reality it was almost four hours. Since I don?t have a Service agreement with Bayside, I was at the bottom of the list for service. This is no way to treat a long time customer. The cost for a Diagnostic service and the cost for Freon are outrageous. The total cost was $239.98. I lost a day?s work waiting for my A/C to be fixed. I am an Angie?s list member and will be rating Bayside?s A/C service and cost. I can tell you this; it will be a VERY low rating. This type of customer service is unacceptable; the cost was WAY too expensive. I will be looking for another A/C service company in the near future. Regards, Candace Rodgers

This customer was originally scheduled for 12 -5. In the busy summer months it's hard to give an exact time not knowing how long each service/repair call will take. This customer insisted on a narrower time frame, so the dispatcher told her possibly by 3 but couldn't promise anything, but would call when the technician was on the way. Her original problem being the air conditioner ran a long time, but was cooling. We always prioritize for customers who have no air, over those that are cooling, despite whether or not they have a maintenance contract or Angie's List members, and still managed to get there in a reasonable time as busy as it is in the summer. As far as the cost, this customer has an older system which requires R-22 which is being phased out per E.P.A. rules, and unfortunately very expensive. We wish this customer well, and hopefully she can find another company to accommodate her stringent schedule.

The vents still smell so badly that I had them come out the following week. He said it was my burned-out anti-mold light and so he replaced the bulb at no charge and moved the $1,560 item to the other side of the A/C unit. It still smells like cigarette smoke coming through my vents. Another service tech told me those purification cannisters are only worth $200, so I am unhappy being a disabled senior woman on social security only that I was taken advantage of and not even given the Angie's List discount. Neither serviceman came into my home; this was all done out back so I never saw the item that cost so much money. Now I have called them to come back since I am having horrible sinus problems and using a lot of Febreze. I think my ducts should have been vacuumed, not just put some cannister in the A/C unit.

There seems to be some confusion here. This customer has an ultra violet system that was installed by another company and even after we changed the probe for her at no charge, she still seems to smell odors in her mobile home that no one else is able to detect. As to the service techs not doing any work on the inside, that's because this is a mobile home package unit with everything located outside. We wish this customer well and if we can help in any way, we will do our best.

When the technician arrived the customer complained of poor air flow to the back bed room. While servicing the system he found the evaporator coil in the air handler impacted which was restricting the air flow. He recommended chemically cleaning the coil and possibly enlarging the size of the duct going to the bed room. Thank you for giving us a call we appreciate your business.

I think they are efficient and timely. I don’t think their charges are outrageous and I think they are honest. That’s all I want from somebody to make sure that they’re honest. I wasn’t here last time when they came and so somebody else saw them. As far as I know, they were here on time on the day they said they would be.

The initial tech who came out to do the inspection told us that the coil needed to be cleaned. We had him do that. He also said that perhaps our thermostat was not working properly and causing the AC to run to much and not cool the house. He replaced it with one from his truck. The was a disaster. It made the AC say it was running, but the house heated to 82 degrees, so it seems that it was only running the fan. We called the after hours service multiple times and were told that we didn't call in time for someone to come out. FYI, we called in plenty of time; the mistake was on their end. They sent another technician out first thing the next morning. He put the original thermostat on because it should not have been changed in the first place. He checked the unit and added the needed freon. They worked out a deal for their maintenance program for us to make sure the system does not have a leak. Initially, we were very unhappy with the service we received. However, after the more knowledgeable technician came and fixed the problem and after the after hours issue was resolved, we were pleased. We will likely use them again.
