Gabe arrived on time, was meticulous and did more than was expected of him. Because of his work and his knowledge of air-conditioners, we signed up for a three year contract to be sure this company comes back for further maintenance. It is the first time in years we feel confident that our air-conditioners are in top working condition. Gabe was outstanding and would recommend this company to our friends and neighbors.

The tech was punctual and very professional. He explained in detail what was done and what he found. He took a bunch of pictures of dust/dirt in the ducts/blower fan. He claimed there was mold but there was no mold test done. The pictures and claims of mold were used to push some other add on services such as UV filtration system and duct cleaning. The sales tactics used to sell these items such as 'only good today' and the high cost made me a little suspicious so I declined. Other company estimates were MUCH lower for the same services, so while the tune up was a very good deal, I'm sure it is a loss leader for other high margin services. I'm sure this is very common in this field so I would just caution you to not make on the spot decisions and check price/value for services offered.

Told me coil was leaking and told me it need replacing. The cost was $4,000.0 to replace coil. I had them fill it with refrigerant and that was it. On May 5, 2015 air conditioning stopped working again. I called to have them to replace coil. They did not want to replace coil, but wanted to sell me a whole new unit for $6,000.00. I said no and they had manager call me to convince me to buy new unit. I had to call another AC company.

After this customer called to have us replace her leaking condenser coil, the service manager called her back before we did the work because of the unusually high cost of the special order, 5 ton coil. When he mentioned the option of replacing the system due to its age and condition, rather than investing this excessive amount into the old one, she became angry and hung up. The manager then had our dispatcher call numerous supply houses to see if we could find a less expensive coil for her, if she still wanted to replace the defective part. He called her back twice and left messages to please call so we could share what we had found, but she never returned our calls. We are sorry we were unable to be of service in this case and we hope this customer gets her problem taken care of.

The technician was very professional. He checked the unit and determined that it was out of coolant and there appeared to be a leak. He said that, due to the age of the unit and the fact that it used the older, more expensive type of coolant, it would be more economical to replace the unit rather than try to repair it. He told me that they would refund me what I paid for the tune-up, and gave me a quote for a new unit. I got several other quotes, and bought a unit from another company due to the price, but I would use this company again for service.
Description of Work: I bought the tune-up special offer on Angie's List because my A/C did not appear to be working properly.

I have had various houses in this area of Florida over the past six years, and as a result have worked with many different heating/air companies. Bayside is definitely one of the best. The office staff is diligent in scheduling and following up, which is very helpful with a busy schedule. The technician, Daniel, called me in advance of the visit to tell me how long it would be before his arrival. Upon arrival, Daniel spoke to me to gather details about my regular routine maintenance of the system and where all of the necessary components of the system are located. The unit is located in the ceiling of the garage, and as a result is exposed to heat and humidity non-stop. Upon inspecting the system, Daniel notified me that there was a leak in one of the pipes leading to the system, and there was mold on the unit. Daniel took the time to show me all of the things he found and what that meant for the system now, and for the future. I climbed into the attic and verified the leak and the mold on the unit. We talked through options and decided that a uv sanitation system was the best bet to try and prevent the mold from recurring. Daniel spent a decent amount of time talking this through with me because I wanted all of the necessary information and details to make a purchase like this - aside from the information that I gathered by searching online. Daniel then took the time to clean the unit, fix the leak, and installed the uv system. He also checked the air filters throughout the house for me and gave me quality levels on each and what needed to be replaced and when - which was very helpful of him. While I wasn't anticipating the extra work that needed to be done today, I was actually appreciative of the information and the level of service that Daniel provided. I would rather deal with issues immediately than have to replace or sanitize my entire system in the near future. Again, I have dealt with many heating/air companies before and this is the first time I felt that the tech was truly telling me something that would benefit the future of my air/heat system and not just upselling me - something I would not say about many other companies that have done work for me. Aside from the good quality work that was done, Daniel was prompt, professional, and had a nice personality & cheerful disposition. Overall, the experience was great - enough so that I locked in a three-year contract with Bayside for bi-annual servicing of my air/heat system.
Description of Work: Provider came out for routine maintenance service and while here discovered mold in the unit and a leak in the pipe leading to the unit (both of which I visually verified) and he ended up cleaning the unit, fixing the leak and installing a uv system.

Gabe found mold growth within and on the exterior of our air handler. He took the time to point out the growth to me and provided a bunch of options with different price points. He discussed the pros and cons of each option and answered all of my questions. In the end, we opted for a full cleaning, which dramatically improved our indoor air quality. Gabe also gave me a few tips on maintaining and hopefully extending the life of our existing system. It's very rare to find someone like Gabe who's committed to delivering great customer service. I appreciated his honesty and thoroughness and because of him, we'll be Bayside customers for life.

I initially called after hours because my A/C had quit cooling. Realizing I did not wish to pay the "after hours" service charge, the service tech, Kendall, talked me through diagnosing the issue (clogged line) and a temp fix to get me through the weekend. Also realizing that I needed to conserve funds, Kendall recommended that I schedule the service call through Angie's List so I could save some additional $$$. I did exactly that and the gentlemen who came out to do the actual work were as professional and helpful as Kendall. Overall, it was a nearly painless transaction (there's always some pain when your AC goes out) and if I need to, I will definitely call Bayside again!

Clogged drain lines can be a real problem especially this time of year. Algae, mold, and mildew will build up in the condensate lines causing the water to back up into the air handler. When this happens it can cause expensive ceiling or floor damage by water overflowing the drain pan. Part of our preventive maintenance service is clearing these lines with a vacuum or by blowing them out with nitrogen. We then place a time released algaecide inside the drain pan to kill the algae and keep the lines clear. On some drain lines that have a shallow pitch and are more prone to algae growth, its a good idea for the homeowner to treat the line at least once between maintenance services. We suggest pouring 1 cup of bleach or vinegar mixed with water into the line or vacuuming it out with a shop vac. If anyone needs more information on drain line problems and how to maintain them, please feel free to give us a call.

My appointment time was between 3 and 5 pm. I was contacted at 1:47 and was informed that the technician was 30 minutes away. Tony showed up early and was very courteous. He showed respect and appreciation for my home and took his shoes off before he entered. He conducted maintenance on my a/c unit. He provided some very informative and useful information about air purification and what my options were. I ended up purchasing a UV purification system. The price was more than I anticipated, but ultimately decided to push forward. I was not expecting Tony to complete the install, however, he did it on the spot. The install went very quick. Tony gave me some useful, inexpensive, and quick home owner tips to help me properly maintain my a/c system, which is greatly appreciated. I have used other companies before and have never been given this information previously. I also decided to get a maintenance package that the company offered. I was offered the current specials and was given the 3 year maintenance package included in the price of the purifier. So I basically got the maintenance package for free! I would recommend this company. Thank you Tony for your professionalism!

I recently moved and I had no knowledge of the AC unit in my new home, it's condition, etc. and I thought it would be a good idea to have unit inspected. From the initial call with Tonna, who scheduled me promptly, to the end of the inspection; it was a pleasant experience. The technician, Tony, was very courteous, patient, and he explained things well. He told me my unit has been taken care of, which gave me piece of mind. Since I had not established a service provider in my new area Tony recommended their maintenance plan which I purchased, and they even applied the initial cost to the maintenance plan. I did not feel pressured into anything, which is nice. I highly recommend this company.

Every staff member that I interacted with from my initial call to the installers were extremely professional. Joe, their ductwork engineer, was early for our initial assessment. He provided me with the insight on how bad our system was with disrupted connections, torn insulation, contaminated ductwork and poor design. He was able to give us his recommendations and quote immediately. He was not a salesman and did not try and sell us more then what was needed. Due to the large job he expected the job to take at least 2 days and was considerate enough to have a portable A/C unit delivered to accommodate our family which includes 2 small children. Alan and Kyle the mechanical installers were very professional as well. They were early for the appointment and reviewed the design with me prior to starting. They made sure to lay down drop cloths over their work area and maintained a clean environment. They consulted me on the placement of every return and supply to make sure I was satisfied. Once finished they did a thorough clean up and ran the system to assure it was working properly. Our air condition is working much better and is cooling every room equally. I'm sure this will be a huge savings onmy energy bill especially in the up coming summer months. I was extremely happy with the professionalism of Bayside Heating and Air and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Called to give us estimates on replacing our AC unit. They came out and examined our current unit, the house size and listened to our concerns. We were looking to replace a 20 year old unit with a new unit with a much higher SEER rating. Since our house is a two story unit, we also wanted to investigate using a "dual zone". Was given the estimates and recommended Maytag unit, bringing both units up to a 4-ton (our current air handler is a 3.5 Ton with a 4 ton compressor). Maytag (Frigidaire) ranked up in our top 5, but the cost for this 16 SEER unit was higher than most 18 SEER units. In the end, we interviewed several installers from Angie's list. We decided to use a different installer with a different product.

From start to finish, it went very well. I would recommend this company to anyone that needs a new unit or just service - very professional, friendly and courteous!
Description of Work: They replaced my entire air conditioning system. So professional and fast! We were completely without air and they were really great to get here within a day of our request around the Easter holiday. After initial frustration with how long it was taking to get parts and to get my AC unit repaired the owner Gary became personally involved. He assured me that he was putting his best tech and field supervisor on the job. He had the warehouse prepared to stay open late and assured me that my unit would be repaired by the end of the day. He did everything that he said he would do. The tech Chris arrived and assured me that I would have air by the end of the day. He knew that he was meeting an angry customer but never let on. He was friendly, courteous and professional and best of all go the job done. It meant he worked late - until after 8 PM. He had to make an afterhours trip to the warehouse to get the necessary part. At the end of a very long day he took the time to do a full check out of the system and flush of the system. He did not rush to leave and made sure that everything worked before he left and that I was satisfied with the work.
Description of Work: Bayside Heating and Air: The sign of truly great company is how they assist and render assistance where there are problems. After initial frustration with a repair request - The owner Gary got personally involved. WOW - is all that I have to say. He was on the phone with me on Friday morning April 10 and by Friday evening April 10 at 8 pm my AC unit was repaired and working perfectly. Marsha the service manager put up with me for several days with courtesy and professionalism throughout the repair process. Gary the owner got involved when I needed assistance and field tech supervisor Chris got the job done even though it meant working in a brutally hot attic, travelling to get a part after hours and working late. I am truly satisfied and Bayside Heating and Air has convinced me of what I had always believed and that is that they are a truly great company with a strong commitment to customer service.

When we run 12 to 13 thousand service calls a year, obviously not all of them are going to go as smoothly as we would like, and unfortunately this was one of those cases. When the factory finally got the needed part to us and we installed it, we then found other problems that could not have been known until the initial repair was made. When this was discovered late Friday afternoon, our entire office, our field supervisor, our warehouse man, the supply house, and this customer, all went into a full court press working together to get the job done. They sent a guy out to do the inspection. He said I needed a whole new system and quoted me a price which I thought was too high. I ended up getting another A/C company to look at it and he also said I needed a new system. He quoted me a price about $1500 less than Bayside. I purchased a new system with the other company.

The square footage in this home called for either a 4 or 5 ton system depending on the other heat load factors, such as insulation, window space, etc. In this case we quoted on the larger 5 ton system with a full 12 year manufacture warranty. We have no way of knowing what size system the other company installed, or the warranty. I purchased a big deal with them, and when I spoke with them over the phone they were very nice and accomodating. The problem that we were having seems to have worked itself out, so we ended up not needing their service, but would call them in the future if we had any other needs.

Daniel called ahead to let me know he was on the way, showed up on time and went right to work. He was careful to make as small a mess as possible and cleaned up when he had finished. He was professional and friendly and answered my many questions -- when he inspected the outside unit, he found that it was beginning to show signs of exposure to salt air (it is a 12 year old Trane unit ) and cautioned that it might need to be replaced in the near future but did not push me to consider replacement now - a great relief. After the inspection/ tune-up and Air Quality Restoration service, I was so pleased with the experience that I signed up for an annual maintenance plan. The total charge for the service and maintenance plan (3 years, 2 inspections/tune-ups per year) was less than $500.
Description of Work: Technician performed the 21 point seasonal inspection/tune up and, because I had recently purchased the condo, he also recommended an Air Quality Restoration service which I agreed was necessary based on the previous owner's pets (two long haired kitties) and the time the condo had sat empty -- he cleaned the blower/ fan and the condenser coils, installed time-released algaecide strip in the drain pan and sanitized the duct work.

Company called to scheduled routine check up. He came, checked heating, then ac, both fine, just needed a new bulb.
