I was very satisfied with the work. I'm very pleased. I cannot see any roof rot anymore. They were polite and helpful.

Very professional and thorough. Clean vehicle and high end equipment. Explained everything to me.

Purchased an Angie's List special for roof repair for $299. They contacted me within a day or 2 via email. I requested they wait until after holidays. They were very accommodating. When I finally chose a date they came out right away. Very personable and polite. Took pictures of the damage. Recommended a new roof but was NOT at all pushy. I listed n/a for quality as it's only been a few days since the repair. Time will tell if the quality of the repair holds up. Not worried, however, I feel that the repairs will be fine.

Oneil and his son were both great. They showed up the next business day after I bought the Angies List deal. They were very professional and gave me some great advice on how to get the most out of our roof. I would recommend this service provider to anyone who asks. Thanks for the good work it is greatly appreciated!

I don't normally write a negative review since I understand things happen, but after reading other reviews regarding the lack of callbacks, wanted to throw my experience in the ring. The one message response was short and sweet-no problem. I didn't get a response back, a quick one, until I sent them a negative message. I don't understand how a company, in today's economy, can afford to not stay on top of potential customers and respond to estimate requests. If this company is that busy that it can't respond to potential customers, they may find themselves on shaky ground. I won't use them.

I have contacted the provider twice since the initial appointment. He did not know if the subcontractor did any caulking or minor repairs. As of 12/30/14 i have not heard from anyone. I was told by the provider that he would find out what work was performed by the subcontractor and that he would personally return if the minor repair work was not accomplished. I feel I paid $100 for a estimate that I could have gotten for free.

He returned my call within an hour. Showed up on the date we agreed to on time. Told me I did not need a new roof for 5 to 7 years. Showed me why my roof leaked. Offered a price for needed repairs. Completed the job within the hour. It stormed ..rain and wind.... hard the following day. No problems noted. Thanks !! Great all around experience.

The provider had scheduled a date to come out last Monday and sent me an email for me to call him to have him come out on Monday or Tuesday. I agreed to these dates, but he never showed up or called afterwards to let me know what was going on. I have decided to no longer go forward with this company and have requested a refund for the deal.

I highly recommend ALVAREZ HOME REPAIRS. A truly professional company that stands by their work. I researched other roofing roofing companies on Angies list and other places and decided to go with ALVAREZ HOME REPAIRS due to their strong reputation. I almost went with another bid that initially came in lower but decided not to based on reviews that the other company had many surprise costs that would end up on the final bill. This seems to be the norm in this industry. Not with ALVAREZ HOME REPAIRS. They stood by their bid and assured me we would be made aware and provided proof of any additional cost. Much to my delight there were no hidden surprises and cost was right at the estimate. I called several other companies for roofing work over the last few years and none of them matched the great service and attention I was shown by Otniel and the rest of his workers. It was so hard just to get a quote from the other companies. Otniel either answered the phone or called me back within a few minutes every time called him.They truly take pride in their work and it shows. Job was finished in one day to my pleasure. Otniel explained the the different options I had clearly and didn't try to only direct me to the higher priced options. I will recommend and use this company for all my roofing needs in the future.

ALVAREZ HOME REPAIRS, LLC was extremely professional from start to finish. We found them to be honest, prompt and very informative. It was a sincere pleasure to have them review our issue and communicate our options including giving us an estimate on a new roof. Unfortunately we were not able to use the generous coupon that they offered, instead of the repair(s) we opted to invest in a NEW roof. We strongly recommend considering this company for any roofing needs.

I responded that they did not perform any services - but they tried to do so against my wishes and against what we- the co-owner and I had agreed to, but a group of them climbed onto my roof when I went in the house when another serviceman come for a different service. As soon as I realized what was happening - it didn't take long to figure it out what with all the clamoring and the leaf blower firing up I restated that I did not want them to perform the service until an estimate was given. So about thirty seconds of service did occur - maybe. But, that was against my wishes and against what we had agreed to. I did give them the benefit of the doubt and did wait for an estimate and then had to call them to get the estimate and then there was bounce back that the estimate was unclear about any wood replacement that 'might' be needed.

The company showed up and looked at it. They gave me an estimate. I talked to them about the coupon and it doesn't apply. It would have applied if I had an asphalt roof, but I have a tile roof. It doesn't save me any money at all. There's no problem with the company, but it doesn't save me any money. I may even have them do the job, but the coupon doesn't help me.

I had purchased the roof tune-up package and it went well.

Otniel Alvarez and a coworker completed a roof repair/inspection which I purchased through Angies List. Otniel Alvarez (owner) advised the whole roof needed to be replace. I received my $150.00 for the roof repair/inspection and $200.00 senior citizen discount off of my total quoted price which I felt was a very fair price. Otniel and his entire crew were very professional and performed quality work. My last roof I had replaced many years ago, I found nails and debris in my yard for weeks afterwards. Otniel's crew did a fantastic job of cleaning up and the roof turned out great. My wife and I are very pleased with the work performed and would not hesitate to refer Alvarez Home Repair to anyone.

Otneil Alvarez and his entire crew were fantastic. They were professional, punctual, extremely fair and thorough. Otneil was responsive every time I called and either made himself available to talk to me or texted me right back to coordinate a time we could talk. I received three quotes for a new roof on my 1926 bungalow and, although Alvarez was not the low bid, I made the decision to go with them based upon my discussions with the Owner - Otneil. I have been in the construction business for over 20 years as an architect and I have developed an ability to recognize an excellent contractor when I see one. Its not that the other guys were bad -- its just that Otneil went above and beyond in explaining the process. He was extremely passionate about his profession and I respected that from the beginning. As I stated his quote was the second the lowest bid provided. However, he was the only one who stated that he didn't like to nickel and dime his customers at the end of the job for additional materials (such as wood). He included 150 linear feet of wood in his quote while others either included none or a minimal amount. Having a home built in 1926 with tons of exposed ratfters, I knew that wood replacement would be extensive on this job. Had I gone with the low bid, I would have paid more in the end for all of the additional wood. They actually ended up using more than the 150 linear feet included in the bid as 6 full sheets of plywood were required under the roof membrane. Otneil charged NOTHING for the additional plywood. Otneil estimated one day for the re-roofing of my house. Because of the additional work they had to do to replace the rotten wood, the work progressed into the afternoon of a second day. Otneil charged NOTHING for the additional 3/4 day to finish my roof. On top of the great job they did, they also hauled away an old wooden play set that I had just taken down in my backyard. My only problem is now my roof looks so great I need to get in gear and get the rest of the house looking better to match it! Call this guy -- he has his customer's best interests at heart, he knows what he is doing and better yet.... he loves what he is doing.

They were very late upon arrival, however he was very upfront when he looked at the work I needed. I felt that he was being fair and he was very knowledgable about the fine print.

Mr. Alvarez arrived on time, performed the inspection and caulking and informed me that my roof would probably be good for another seven years. I will definitely call on Mr. Alvarez to inspect and maintain my roof in the coming years.

The owner, Otniel Alvarez and another employee showed up to do the inspection and repait work which I purchased via Angies List. Mr Alvarez was very thorough as to the problems with my roof and I received, in my opinion, a reasonable estimate for replacment of the entire roof including the flat roof in the backside. When my roof is replaced I will complete another survey in which I,m hoping for the same results as the first survey.

Having worked construction myself (all phases from site-prep to exterior, interior, cabinetry & trim and even underwater, as a diver), I have seen all levels of very good to shoddy work. Alvarez Home Repair re-shingled my 42 square roof (about 3,300 sq ft). I have seldom seen such care and attention to detail. It was done far better than another major company (HD) planned to do. I believe in advertising the bad & good, whereby we customers can run the bad out of business & the good can survive and prosper, as they should. Alvarez Home Repair (and Roofing) is DEFINITELY in the VERY BEST category. I heartily recommend this company with no reservations. His PRICE was also THE BEST. The owner even came out to inspect the job DURING the 3/6/2014 DOWNPOUR even though I told him it was not necessary. His crew was polite, considerate & communicative. The cleanup was very well done.
