The job was started and finished exactly when they said it would be. Replacing a roof is messy work but the crew did an excellent job of cleaning up afterward. The price quoted and the final charge were exactly the same despite having to replace some rotted wood. When you have work done on a 50 year old house you can usually expect some surprises, but not this time! Overall I'm very happy with this company, and I plan on using Alvarez Home Repairs again.

O'Neil was quick to come out and assist us with a leaking flat roof that was causing interior damage. He came to the house on a Sunday and tried to secure the roof free of charge when most companies I spoke with were telling me they couldn't give me an estimate for 7-10 days. Although they couldn't start the work immediately because of the incessant down pours in this area at the time. I know they would have if it wouldn't have ruined the quality of the replacement roof. The first good day without rain they were in and completed he project in a little over a day. Wonderful fellas to work with, obtained proper permits, very friendly and concerned for they're customers and their needs.

They were slow to start but finished very quickly!I am still waiting on final bldg inspection.

Due to unprecedented rains, the company was behind schedule. They were due to come on Tuesday, but did not call or come. I tried to call the office phone, but continually got busy signals. They did call the next day, apologized profusely and came right out to do the job. Otniel even took the time to look at a neighbor's roof and will be helping her with fallen tiles. Otniel was very professional and I would gladly recommend his company.

Oneil and Orlando run a good crew. They removed a old leaking roof under extremely challenging schedule due to constant ran. The new roof they put on was great. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a honest and engaged contractor. A+ work.

Rhythm is the best word to describe the way this team works together. While they were working and I was in my house, I could hear the rhythm of their work. I actually went out and videoed them working together to understand the sound I was hearing. This to me was evidence of a team, which has worked together for some time, and their final product speaks volumes of their professionalism. We?ve experienced monsoons over the past several days and we have no leaks. The new attic fan is helping to better regulate the air on our second floor. We are more than pleased with the final product and the overall experience of working with the Alvarez brothers and their stellar team. Please note that we considered Alvarez after reviewing all of the Angie?s List reviews for his company. We noticed the common theme of negative reviews, related to some communication issues. We experienced great responsiveness from Mr. Alvarez and I would encourage you to consider his services?I assure you that you will not be disappointed with the final product and kind and gentle demeanor.

Orlando was extremely professional and he knew what he was doing. He did find one possible source of a roof leak, but it was nothing to be concerned about at this point. He did not try to charge me for repairs not needed as others have tried to do. I would definitely recommend Alvarez Plumbing and will contact them for any future roofing needs I might encounter.

Otniel Alvarez replaced our roof. We recieved many estimates, Otniel's was the best proposal. He and his crew arrived on time. They completed the job in two days. They replaced a lot of wood. When they were done they did an excellent job it looks great. When it was all done, there was no hidden charges, the price he quoted was the final price. We are very happy with everything, we highly recommend Otniel Alverez for your roofing needs.

Orlando and his team are fantastic! Even though our roofing repair was small, he understood that to us, it is huge in light of the fact that the rainy season is here. We so appreciate his kindness, professionalism, and quick response time. Additionally, we appreciate that he did not try and pressure us into unneeded expenses, but rather focused on the problem at hand, honestly and with care. These guys are fantastic. I knew they were the ones for us when Orlando spent over an hour examining the house and explaining the issues. Then to be sure, Ortinel came the next day. Our home is 1942 with an addition and the prior owners did some strange stuff. It really looked terrible with different treatments on different parts of the house. Existing soffits were not put in correctly and we had squirrels getting in and building nests in roof. Within a week of us agreeing to the estimate they came out and finished the job in 2 days. They worked long hours and had to get creative in customizing the work so it looked consistent around the house. They were genuinely concerned and vested in fixing our problem. I trusted them from the get go. They did not require a deposit up front. When they discovered rotten wood they were able to replace it and charged a fair price. I wish we had used them when we had our roof replaced several years ago. They communicated with me each step of the way. When they ran late one day the called me immediately. Bottom line, you have to be flexible with this type of job - it's weather and resource related. It's so hard to find contractors that have pride in their work. They are hard working and genuinely nice. I have not doubt if we have any trouble with the work they will be back in a flash to correct it. But I am confident we wont have to call them back!

Otneil Alvarez stopped by to assess the repair required to fix a roof leak. I had signed-up for Angies' roof maintenance, leak repair and storm inspection special. He indicated that, while this was a more major job than would normally be covered by that special, he would do the repair regardless. That afternoon, three of his workers showed-up, stripped some shingles and underlayment, replaced some wood, put down some self-adhesive underlayment and laid some shingles. This job was worth more than what I had paid Angies, but Mr. Alvarez was unwilling to accept more money. In talking with him, I was impressed with his depth of roofing experience, his strong work ethic and the values with which he runs his company. I would not hesitate to recommend him and his staff to do anything from a repair to a complete roof replacement. Very impressed.

They were amazing! They were very responsive, timely and had great quality of work. They worked with us to provide a competitive price. Their pricing was well worth it. They addressed all of our questions and needs. They were very helpful during the entire process and were really able to put us at ease.

No service call was performed

It turned out fine. They came a few weeks after the purchase. They were very nice people. They seemed honest. He was good at explaining. He showed me what needed fixed. He was a nice person. I would recommend them.

On March 23, this roofer was contacted and arrangements were made for him to perform the work on March 30. Almost an hour after the arranged time, he had not appeared and I called him. He reported he was delayed on another job but would be at my place the following day at 10am. Of course he did not arrive as agreed and almost an hour after that time, his brother called to say he was tied-up on another job but they would get back to me. It is now April 3 and I've received no further word from them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH SUCH AN UNRELIABLE OUTFIT!!

I was contacted right away and we set up a date and time for him to come by and look at what I needed done. He showed up on time and discussed very clearly what needed repaired. We set up a date and time for the repair to be performed and it was done. We were very happy with the service and value, and will be using this company in the future for repair and maintenance. The work looks wonderful and our roof line is restored! Thank you!

we purchased the deal in late summer of 2014.. We informed the vendor that we would be out of the country for a substantial part of the fall. We asked that they delay the service until later in the year. They agreed. We then set appointments with them to inspect the roof and they did not show up in a timely fashion, if at all. We only have their word if they were here. we then made several appointments for them to show up and do the work. They never kept the appointments. Belatedly I complained to Angie's list on the phone. I'm now taking this opportunity to complain again, but this time in writing. in one of your boxes above you ask for contact dates. These events happened will in late summer and fall of 2014. I don't recall the exact dates. I have filled in the box at 10/10/2014, but since your form gives me no other option and I'm testifying to accuracy readers need to be aware that this is a best guess and not a definitive statement.

It was a good experience. When the roof leaked again, they came right back out to fix it again. The pricing was great, they were very polite and their responsiveness was wonderful.

The gutters & downspouts are in a rich deep brown color which is PERFECT for my house color trim - don't know if you can say gutters and downspouts are beautiful but they ARE! I had a flat roof estimate and roof leak that was fixed and I added more gutter length (thus the increase in price). The work was done quickly and cleaned up nicely (taking off the old roof). It has not rained since I had the roof leak repair but I am confident that even if it is not fixed, I can call and Mr. Alvarez will come to the rescue - all warrantied! Hurry up rain! I will definitely recommend and re-use Alvarez Home Repairs in the future! UPDATE: roof repair doesn't leak! gutter work is perfect -- let it rain!!!! Thank you Mr. Alvarez!

The plywood was either delaminated or rotten, so I opted to replace it all. I could not see putting a good roof on a bad structure. I did not know my roof was in such bad shape because it did not leak except in the garage. There were three sheets of felt paper under my shingles which maybe is another reason it did not leak into the house. My house was built in 1956. I bought the house in 1993 and have never re-roofed it. It was definitely time. I am so glad that I put on all new plywood even though I paid extra for 70 sheets of plywood. I feel confident that my roof will last a long time. It feels so sturdy. I know the price seems high but the bottom price before plywood was very reasonable and I checked with 5 or 6 roofers before deciding to go with Otneil and Alvarez roofing. All the contractors that I interviewed told me that I would need alot of plywood. The roofers were so polite and helpful. I stayed at home and watched the progress, going up on the roof at least every two hours. I definitely recommend Alvarez Home Repairs.

They did a great job, very professional. I would recommend this company for any roof work

My deal was for 50 linear feet of fascia. When Alvarez came to look at the job he showed me that my fascia was made up of two boards, making it 100 linear feet. He said, however, that since I contracted thru Angie's list he would do both boards for the same deal price. He kept in contact with me while scheduling, and on the date of installation he called to say he would be late since he was picking up permits. Once there, with his two helpers, they removed the old rotten wood and replaced the facial with new lumber. They also caulked around the boards. I am well satisfied with their work and would recommend them to anyone.

I purchased an Angies Big Deal for gutter cleaning, gutter adjustment and roof inspection and was contacted within 24 hours to schedule service. Service was scheduled within a couple of days. I was not asked any questions about the height of my home and the individual who arrived initially, while he was very nice, did not have appropriate support to access a two story house. A few hours later, a crew showed up to do the work. Debris was removed from the gutters and the area under the house was mostly cleaned up. I was a little disappointed that while I trust the gutters no longer have debris clogging the water flow, they still appear to be quite dirty. I was perhaps wrongly assuming that the gutters would be wiped or sprayed off. I also did not receive any kind of verbal or written report on the status of my roof; however we had some work done relatively recently so I assume there was nothing to be found.

First class service went beyond what we thought we paid for.

Setting up the appointment was a problem. Mr. Alvarez called right after I bought the Big Deal. I returned his call in about a week to set up an appointment. We played phone tag a bit, then set up an appointment. However, he did not show up for the appointment. I called him, and we delayed the appointment until later that day, but he didn't show up or call. I called him back; we set up an appointment for the next day. No show, no call. I called that night and we set up one more appointment for the next morning. Mr. Alvarez showed up on time, apologized for the previous missed appointments, explaining that some unexpected business difficulties. intervened. He did what appears to be a thorough job and explained what he did. We talked some about the cost and kind of roof I might plan to do. When I decide to take care of the roof, I will get an estimate from him.
