Don't hire this guy if you expect the job to done in a timely matter or at all . On June 27, 2018 we hired Vincent "Vinny" to remove 900 sq. ft of carpet and 100 sq.ft of ceramic tile and lay new tile down. He asked for and received $500.00 down and $350.00 gift card from Home Depot for Thin Set and Grout. We had already purchased tile at another store. He said he could start the first week of July. On July 2 he removed most of the old tile but left a big pile of tile in a little room. The carpet was not removed at all. After 2 weeks of promises to be on the job site but never showed up , we knew he wasn't going to get to our job until July 24th or later. I was to move in the condo as soon as the tile was down. I had to change my move in date 3 times. On July 18th we informed Vinny we had hired another company to finish the job. He already knew that was a possibility with a text he sent me the day before. Most of our conversations were by texting because his mailbox was always full so we couldn't leave a message. We asked for the Home Depot card and $200.00 dollars back.but we've had the run around with excuses. Six hours have been wasted at designated places waiting for Vinny to show and settle up. He finally did show after waiting 1- 1/2 hrs on July 21st but didn't have the money or card. Said he ordered and paid the Thin Set and Grout on July 5 but had not pick it up. He said to give him 2 hours and we would meet up at Home Depot....never showed up. I checked with Home Depot and they had no order for him since 2017. My guess is he used the gift card for his other tile job. Vinny is very convincing on some levels but he seems to know a lot about conning people who want tile laid.. Gave Vinny several warning about reporting him to the State Board of Florida, and Social Media, so now I have run out of patience. This expensive lesson has cost $850.00.

We paid this man a down payment on July 24th. He was supposed to come first thing the following morning. After several calls and texts, he showed up at noon. He worked about 45 minutes, then ran to the store. He came back and worked a total of about three hours. In that three hours, he did manage to set a lot of tiles. He left and said he'd see us in the morning. The following afternoon, we got a text saying he had a sick child and he was trying to locate a sitter. We ran into him and the "sick child" that night at Home Depot. He said he'd see us first thing in the morning. This went on for days. We last heard from him on July 28th when he said he'd "see us in a little". We haven't seen or heard from him since. After we cleaned up the tiles and grout lines, we figured he ran because he'd gotten way off center and knew he couldn't make it right without tearing it up. The corners of the grout lines are off, and there is some lippage as well. Fortunately, we only paid him the $140 deposit.
